I did the same thing on my SNES! The next step was to put the mids on the shoulders. I didn't get six-button fluent until alpha two. I wasn't what you would call 'good' until 2nd impact. Love the channel. The vid about sf6 and t8 and how fighting games change was the vid of your i saw and an instant subscribe for me.
Hey James, are you going to make an episode about inputs and timing as well as how to neutral? I'm having a lot of trouble cancelling and liking my moves. Is there a way to improve how to time into moves better, as well as succeeding moving in neutral?
I feel called out for the Lights on shoulder buttons comment. I will always have them there since it's been so long. Using buttons other than Light Punch, Heavy Punch, and Heavy Kick(outside of EX Moves) is something I'm still getting over now despite playing for like a decade(although that's mostly against the SF2 and SF4 CPU's). In Guilty Gear Strive I have Slash on my Medium Punch button so I'm comfortable touching it and SF6 Dee Jay has taught me to dust off both Mediums for a safer sweep and fireball. Light Kick is still a Throw exclusive button press but whatever.
Hahaha. Yeah. That’s why I felt this video was important though many more veteran players might think it odd to point out. One of the things I’m really trying to teach here IS learning to use all the buttons, and the best way to do that is to understand why you need to, for all the different scenarios and distances you end up! ^_^
There is Divekick - the two-button fighting game. Where is rock-paper-scissors - the 3 button fighting game? It doesn't need jump, because jump-rock wouldn't beat paper, either.
Hahaha. To be honest, that would be a pretty sick Fighting Game. LOL! HiFight’s Footsies is probably the closest we have to that right now! Actually, it’s pretty darn close already!
That’s why sentinels beam in mvc3 is the most awful move ever in a fighting game. It breaks every one of the rules. Fast, range, damage, costs no meter and is hard to punish.
In MvC2, being flight cancellable is what broke it. LOL! It’s supposed to leave him sitting there forever, but being able to fly-unfly made it a commitment-less move. LOL! And while we’re at it, let’s give it a single Unblockable hitting frame. WHY NOT. LOLOLOL!
