And you can only tell in the second hook where one pitch slightly varied from the other. That shit is insane! Who is that accurate? In his prime, one of the best voices of all time.
Donald you are right! The musical standards in the 70s and 80s were much higher than they are today. No auto-tune or sampling. Real instruments, great vocals/harmonization and excellent production. I was 17 when this song was released in July 1983. It was made for my generation! I lived it! You are right about "panning" one vocal to the left and one to the right. The slight pitch variation you mentioned also give a nice "musical color" to the whole track. It's amazing. The horn section just makes the whole track "kick ass". What an insane talent George Michael is! Like... for musicians out there, you do realize my man sang this song in stacks, right? He panned one vocal left and the other right. And you can only tell in the second hook where one pitch slightly varied from the other. That shit is insane! Who is that accurate? In his prime, one of the best voices of all time.
Donald you are right! The musical standards in the 70s and 80s were much higher than they are today. No auto-tune or sampling. Real instruments, great vocals/harmonization and excellent production. I was 17 when this song was released in July 1983. It was made for my generation! I lived it!
You are right about "panning" one vocal to the left and one to the right. The slight pitch variation you mentioned also give a nice "musical color" to the whole track. It's amazing.
