What a song! George Michael was a truly amazing artist and had such a beautiful soul. I've loved him since he was in WHAM! when I was a teenager. I and so many others miss him dearly. RIP George Michael ❤
Unfortunately George life would never be the same when was found in the toilet being gay not one wrong with being gay George from a man who adores women
written, produced, arranged, played every instrument when recording it and sang it....People keep saying Andrew was the driving force because he pushed them to form the band - fine but without GM, that group wasn't going to anywhere and, thankfully, Andrew knew it. GM would have found another path to where he went if it hadn't been with Andrew. I saw an interview he did in 1990 and he said he was working in his dad's restaurant as a young teen and hear a song on the radio and was the first time he thought, when listening to the melody in the song that he would have gone a certain different way and that he felt he could have written it better. Where does everyone think this guy was going with our without Andrew? To be an accountant?
I'd be honored if some George Michael fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances (live, no autotune) of PRAYING FOR TIME and ONE MORE TRY on my YT channel in tribute to two of George's greatest hits. Eventually our man will get his due for all that he gave to modern music as a vocalist, songwriter and producer. THANK YOU GEORGE. WE MISS YOU.

Lol well George was quite a deep, complex character apparently. Don't be fooled by catchy hooks and tunes alone.. the lyrics are hard hitting. Listen to George Michael - Praying for Time for example.
When Make It Big came out, my sister had the album on CONSTANT rotation in her tape deck, not to mention in her bf's car. I cringed because I thought it was the cheesiest stuff I'd heard. Now! I can't get enough of George's lyrics. And that's due to the solo work he did AFTER Wham! Simply brilliant
What a beautiful human being George was. When he sang, he did so with all his heart and soul , while tackling life issues in his lyrics. One of the all time super greats. He died too young and I know he had plenty more to offer us all. RIP.
'Look, i cant work any harder than i do'!

Who cares what people thought about George Michaels, he had an astounding voice. Rest in Peace George Michael
Most people saw him as a decent compassionate mild mannered North Londoner. And rightly so.
He should've been knighted!
@@MauriceNoble-o8z He was very well thought of. Maybe, some silly people who should grow up didn't, but those who knew, knew what an exceptional songwriting talent and singer he was.
What a tragic loss, that’s all that can be said.

Easily one of the best songs ever created. ❤
I agree…. Such a great song!
I do believe you are most correct. 💋
As a previous poster said, this joint is still fire in 2023!!!

Lol 😂. It's definitely up there. Top comment.
When George Sings this part of the song it always gives me goosebumps
"It's just a matter of time, My situation never changes walking in and out of that door ,Like a stranger for the wages I give you all, you say you want more"
"You showed me you can take - you've got some giving to do!"
I was disappointed when that extra part wasn't on the cassette.
'And now you tell me that you're having my baby, I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to'. Don't know why I love this lyric so much! It's never happened to me yet somehow it resonates ... maybe because it's so raw.. so truthful... I think it's a masterpiece of a genius lyric!
My late boyfriend and I saw them in concert. When they sang this song, we danced together. I lost him 7 years ago, and every time I hear this song, tears roll down my face because i think of that moment

I'm so sorry for your loss. But I'm so happy that George can allow you to revisit those moments

I remember when this song dropped and it was like I had an epiphany. The music, the lyrics and just the way George sang it made it, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs to ever grace the airwaves.
I can only imagine. I was born in the 90’s but playing GTA Vice city as a kid is how I heard this. I remember this being one of my favorites as a kid from the vocals to the beat.
& i knew nothing about this genre of music since I was into rap. But I realized that I’ve always appreciated good music
Absolutely! I went out and had brand new speakers put in my Grand Prix just to carry the bassline the way i wanted it to bump lol!! Fun times!!
@@dorenjackson1166This is in Vice City? I knew it was in GTA V, that’s how I was fortunate enough to discover it, nothing like going 3 times the speed limit while jamming to this, you can get halfway across the map by the time the song finishes going that fast lol.
If it’s in Vice City, that means it’s in 2 GTA games, if any song deserves to be in 2 GTA games, it’s this one, absolutely beautiful track.

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Acts 2:38

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

True that...gm himself said this is one of his best songs he wrote of wham.
The best period. George Michael said in an interview that he could never do a concert without performing this song because of how well the audience response was
Thank goodness as we grow older and mature that we can rediscover incredible music like this. Something I dismissed before as being too pop for me to enjoy. How foolish I was! This song is so well written and performed that I can't help but listen to it over and over. What a jewel!
I sure as hell didn’t get what this song was about when it came out, as I was 13 at the time.
Now that I’m 50. I feel every note.
I’m the same mate I’m 22 and I prefer older music to the newer shite today
Really, George Michael had a formidale career in his first years, he won a lot of prizes like best singer, best interpreter/ actor in his songs videos really highest level, he wrong not evevn a song, one more beauty than other from Faith to Careless Whisper to I want your sex to Outside and this and many others. Im glad you appreciate that. Special sound , special voice. Then in old age he is going decreased.
So true and it’s kinda cool that the new generation appreciates this music more than millennials did

Work, work
Somebody told me
"Boy, everything she wants
Is everything she sees"
I guess I must have loved you
Because I said you were the perfect girl for me, baby
And now we're six months older
And everything you want
And everything you see
Is out of reach, not good enough
I don't know what the hell you want from me, oh
Somebody tell me, oh (won't you tell me?)
Why I work so hard for you?
(Give you money, work to give you money) oh
Some people work for a living
Some people work for fun
Girl, I just work for you
They told me marriage was a give and take
Well, you've shown me you can take
You've got some giving to do
And now you tell me that you're having my baby
I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to
But one step further and my back will break
If my best isn't good enough
Then how can it be good enough for two?
I can't work any harder than I do
Somebody tell me, oh (won't you tell me?)
Why I work so hard for you? (Give you money)
Oh, to give you money, oh
Why do I do the things I do?
I'd tell you if I knew
My God, I don't even think that I love you
Won't you tell me?
Give you money
Work to give you money, oh
Work, work
Work, work
Somebody tell me, oh (won't you tell me?)
Why I work so hard for you? (Give you money)
Oh, to give you money, oh
Somebody tell me, oh (won't you tell me?)
Why I work so hard for you? (Give you money)
Oh, to give you money, oh
Somebody tell me
Won't you tell me?
Why I do the things that I do?

Written and Produced by George Michael, when he was 21 ❤
Amazing. Beautiful song
Unbelievable.
written, produced, arranged, played every instrument when recording it and sang it....People keep saying Andrew was the driving force because he pushed them to form the band - fine but without GM, that group wasn't going to anywhere and, thankfully, Andrew knew it.
His musicality was absolutely phenomenal.
34 years later .. i still love this guy and this song
