At last a video that actually shows how to do this! Thank you thank you thank you! I may finally get one made thanks to you! Purl Soho ought to compensate you in Linen Quill!
I’m so glad this helped!!
I agree! So helpful 😊. Thank you ☺️
Yea! Im viewing this on 04-09-2024. Excellent instructions and demonstration! Now I can actually start this project! I agree with a previous comment, Purl Soho needs to hire you for their tutorials! Exceptional job!! Thank You.
Your tutorial is so much better than the actual Purl Soho videos. Thank you so much!
Finally! A video with clear, concise and easy instructions for the
half + half triangles wrap! I was just about to give up on triangle 2! Thank you for your excellent video!! I agree with the other comments, Purl Soho should "gift" you some Linen Quill yarn! Their instructions for triangle 2 are awful!!
Thank You! I can finally start this project after holding on to the yarn for more than two years! Your tutorial WOW! Tks for making it and sharing with us.
The best tutorial out there! My yarn is coming on Monday and I can’t wait to get started. I chose kettle black and peony pink😃
I chose the same colours!
THANK YOU! Your video made fuzzy pattern instructions crystal clear! I was confused about starting Color B, when my housemate suggested this video. I'm zooming along now, and planning my next half+half. I hope Purl Soho sends you some yarn!
Thank you so much for demonstrating how to knit the wrap and stitch together! I was completely stumped by this but you saved me ❤❤❤
Brilliant! You might cast on a size 7 needle then begin the pattern as you knit the cast on stitches onto the size 4.Much faster first row.
Thank you for a super helpful tutorial. You are a wonderful teacher!
please make more tutorials!!!!:) they are lovely lovely lovely
Stacy!!!! I am so grateful and thrilled that you did this!!!!!!! And the fact that you did the w&t that’s called for in the pattern, is everything!!! They should have done this when they released the pattern even though it’s fairly easy but some people need visual. And then you went a step further in what we do on the last row and how we go about picking up the wraps is wonderful!!!! Cause I was thinking I didn’t have to pick up the wraps at all!! So thank you again Stacy!! P.s I love your podcast and ALL of your wraps sooo inspiring!!😍😍😍😍
Ahhh I’m so glad!
Thank you for taking the time to make this excellent video!!! I would have been lost without it.
Thank you Stacy…. Here it is January 2023 and I’m watching your tutorial for probably the third time because now I’m almost ready to add Rosewood Pink to my almost completed first triangle of Pale Mushroom which I started in August 2022. Your tutorials made it happen for me and your enthusiasm for the Half and Half Triangle Wrap is contagious. I love your energy towards this wrap and I thank you again for your generous spirit to share an easy to watch, easy to follow tutorial for the wpt and adding your new color! Wraps Rule my friend! I hope you will always have a wrap on your needles and you continue to share your color combos. I have already purchased my second set of Linen Quill yarn for wrap number 2. Happy knitting…take care, gayle in MN.
Hi Stacy! oh my! your hair.. I love it! ❤ and so half and half wrap.. I am knitting my second version right now and it is such a bless :)🍀
Thank you! I 'm so glad you love this pattern too!
Thanks a bunch! I’ve been thinking about making one, and now that I’ve watched a few of you videos about the half & half, I absolutely will make one. Also, because of yr helpful info, I know I want to do wrap and turn ;) thanks again!
I really don't need another project to work on, but with Mad About Ewe doing the KAL for this pattern, I couldn't resist. I bought 4 different colors of Linen Quill - Dark Iris/ Pale Mushroom and (inspired by you) Honey Pink/ Juniper. I've been wanting to make one of these lovely wraps for a year now. Those small details really do make a knitter happiest, don't they. Wrap and turn ridges, small cables, etc. have always made me smile.
Your tutorial is so very clear. I have watched and rewatched it to be sure I understand the process and have even cast on some stitches to practice as you have shown in your video. You are a natural teacher. I am anxiously waiting arrival of the yarn and hoping for delivery today. So excited to begin. BTW I have been binge watching your channel. Love it!!!!
This makes me so happy! Thank you!
Thank you for showing us how to make this. I can understand your instructions and find it easier to make the half and half wrap.
I agree with Jackie Vandenberg! Your explanation is so simple and easy to follow! Thank you so very much!
I'm late to the game on knitting this piece, but you did a great job on this tutorial. I started it, but think i may need to frog and start over. I'm thinking that I did my wrap and turns wrong. Thank you so much for this tutoial. Love your channel.
I’m making my wrap in dark denim and pink peony. I love the fabric linen quill makes. I’m using size 3 US needles and doing German short rows. When I finish this I’d love to make a sweater in linen quill! It really is amazing yarn! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for this knit. It’s the main reason I ordered the yarn and I’m so glad I did!
What a beautiful color combo! I’m knitting a tank in linen quill right now and it’s amazing!!
Thank you!!!! I cannot tell you how thrilled i am to have found this video!...i have yarn on the way for this shawl...and im beyond excited....loved this!..thank you!❤❤❤❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
Hello, Stacey, I always thought about making this wrap, but now after seeing your wonderful tutorial and your passion about this project, I must start knitting one! ! Thank you, and the wrap and turns are absolutely addictive! Greetings from Austria
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I really appreciate the attention to detail. I feel as though I can give this a try☺️. I hope you have a wonderful weekend☀️
Yay I'm so glad!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! You helped me tremendously. I really thought this pattern was beyond my capabilities, but you showed me I CAN do this.
Thank you for this tutorial that actually shows the W/T as in the pattern with more than just a 10 stitch swatch.
thank you for this video and for basically holding my hand while i worked on my wrap! i just finished it today, a year and two days after i started it, haha. your instructions really helped me grasp the pattern :)
Congratulations!!! I'm so happy to be there with you!
Thank you for the tutorial. I have been wanting to make this for so long but have been intimidated by the short rows. I’m not too good with them but your tutorial has helped. I also wanted to say that I love the way you are styling your hair!!!
Thank you! I'm so glad this helped!
Thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial. Most helpful with the wrap and turn explanation.
Thank you for making this toturial. I need a new mindless project for when I finish my habitation throw in the near future so the timing is great
Yay! I’m so glad!!
Thank you so much! I’ve wanted to make this but the wraps just intimated me! Can’t wait to order my linen quill and start with your help! 💜
Your video saved my life! Wow. I couldn't have done it without your help. Thank you!!!!
Ok! Frogged a half made first ha
F&half attempt BECAUSE your tutorial is so very helpful. I will be so much happier making it again with your instructions.
Stacy, thank you for sharing this tutorial. You really break it down for us. I made one as a gift last year and want to make myself one this year.
I'm so glad! Yay! You should, it's so wearable and functional!
Hello! I am about to start my half and half triangle wrap and thanks to your tutorial, I feel ready and confident to do this. I am fairly new to knitting, so I was a bit intimidated to do this wrap, but I will embark on this journey, with your help. Gracias!
Thank you for sharing your talents and passion for this project! Your video is so helpful!
Stacy THANK YOU SO MUCH for this!! I was completely confused by purl solos instructions and your video made all the difference!
I am way late to the Half and Half triangle train but I so appreciate your help. And YES! Linen quill is so wonderful to knit with - I am in triangle heaven. Thank you so much for making the time to create this tutorial.
Thank you for making this pattern so clear. I struggled with the W&T but what a difference you’ve made!
Hope you’ll make tutorials in the future. Happy Summer🧶
Thank you! I'm so glad!
So helpful! I'll send customers to this link and appreciated seeing it for myself.
Thank you for very clear directions and a great video to go along with them. So easy to follow along! Thank you thank you!
such an helpful video... thank you ...
I just ordered yarn to make a wrap. I'm using Rhubarb Pink & Pale Oats & I'm making the smaller version. It's going to be a birthday gift for my mom, hopefully it will be done by April 2nd. This will be my first Half & Half Triangles Wrap. I can't wait to feel the Linen Quill yarn, I've heard so many people talking about it. I will be playing back this video over and over when I start my wrap, so thank you so much for the tutorial!
Loved this tutorial! Thinking about casting one on, but going to first try the pattern as a dish cloth to practice.
That's such a great idea!
Working a small sample like Stacy's first is virtually a must if you want this wrap to be a relaxing project. I knitted a total of 3 samples before I worked out all of the kinks. I also read all of the Q&A beneath the Purl Soho pattern online before I started knitting my samples. Linen Quill yarn is not cheap, so you don't want to have to frog any of your work.
Stacy such a fabulous tutorial. I have been thinking about this Kal ever since it started.
Oh it’s so wonderful if you love lots of garter!!
Thank you for posting this tutorial, it's very useful for beginners like me
So glad to find you. I put down my knitting in 2020 and started quilting. I’ve finished six quilts and am working on two more. Last week I picked up knitting again for in front of TV. I didn’t realize how much I missed it! I’m working on a two directional scarf by Martina Behm. I will try this Purl Soho pattern. Love their yarns. Thank you so much. 😊
Stacy! excellent tutorial. I had a bit of a stalled moment starting the 2nd color (and thought the pattern was wonky but alas it all makes sense now) I'm ready to go now. I'm doing GSR but after watching your video I will venture into the scary territory of wrap and turn on my next one lol! This project is knitting crack. If I notice a 20% off sale on Linen Quill (which is often) I buy several new colors!!! wth....I can't help myself. Love it. Thanks!
Greetings, Stacy Thank you so much for sharing this pattern and your enthusiasm. You are an excellent instructor. This is definitely comfort knitting at it’s best. The colour possibilities are indeed endless and I think this can be a great stash buster for sure. I started out with just 50 stitches in order to learn the pattern, which I thought was the perfect size for my granddaughter’s 18” Canadian Doll and it sure is. One of the things that attracted me to knitting is the geometry and math therein of the construction of the fabrics and this pattern certainly does not disappoint. I love knitting the second colour triangle the best, lol. Thank you again. Joyce (Southern Alberta, Canada)
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This has been one of my dream knits since the pattern came out. After watching your tutorial I can completely understand the pattern sequence. Thanks again for taking the time to make this great tutorial , Stacey ❤️
Yay! I’m so glad it helped!
I totally agree! I’ve been wanting to make this wrap for a while but always got afraid with doing the wrap and turn. I’m a visual learner and this video helped me understand the construction of this wrap😁
So, so, clear instructions…just great!
This was so helpful thank you! I have finished my first triangle in Pale Oats. I am into the second using true turquoise. I get it now the wrap the linen quill. Yes yes yes. It’s that good 😃.
Thank you so much!!!! I just started this wrap and have been so frustrated with that wrap and turn. You made it so easy after watching your tutorial ❤
oh I'm so glad!
Thanks Stacy- your video was very clear and to the point. Thank you so much!!!
You've inspired me. I just ordered from purl soho. I wondered how to start this and your video is very helpful. Hopefully I will have the patience for this.
Ahh I’m so glad! I try to remember this project isn’t a race and to take my time and enjoy every stitch!
Thank you 🙏🏻 I now realize what I am doing wrong while working on my second half and half … This was extremely helpful💕
This made my day! I'm so glad it helped! Happy knitting!
@@stacyelstone 💕
Hi Stacey, I have made one of the half-and-half wraps. Your enthusiasm for them has me planning two more, for which I gave already purchased the yarn. Your video has encouraged me to try the wrap and turn. Now off to order the pale mushroom and wheat flower. Knit on✊️ kim
Yes - thank you so much. I will be watching this over and over when I'm making mine. I am only in the process of deciding on a color combo for the first but I'm leaning towards using the Pale Mushroom with either Green Turquoise or Rhubarb Pink (maybe even go cookoo and look for the Flamingo colorway!!!) Thank you so much. You are such a sunny personality - I could knit with you for hours.
Pale Mushroom looks good with any of the other Linen Quill colors. My first Half+Half Triangles Wrap is Bright Flamingo and Peach Stone. Neon colors are very popular now, so I'm glad I chose a pretty one like Bright Flamingo even before neon colors became the rage. Bright Flamingo looks great with Pale Mushroom.
I am knitting my current and first half and half triangle wrap in the colors twig brown and vintage celadon. I am doing German short rows. After watching your video, I will use the wrap and turn technique on my second one. I like the ridge effect better. Like you, I will always have one on my needles. Such a great knit. Thanks for sharing.
#2 will be lavendar opal and fresh pickle. Also your hair is gorgeous 😍
@@kathyradic3368 amazing colors! I agree, the ridge is so beautiful!
Well that was quick, Stacy!
I asked about your H+HTW tutorial yesterday, and here it is today!
You have done an exemplary job of de-mystifying this pattern, especially the 3 critical points of learning the wrap & turn, working the last row of Color A, then starting the first row of Color B.
I'm pleased to know that you prefer the wrap + turn instructions to the German short rows alternative. I tend to trust the pattern as written, and that ridge where the two colors join is attractive.
Thanks for showing us some of your Linen Quill color pairings. My personal favorites that I have purchased are:
Dark Denim + Blue Blue
Dark Iris + Chestnut Red
True Turquoise + Vintage Celadon
Pink Pop + Poppy Red
I would love for Purl Soho to make Linen Quill in a true lipstick red color. Their color Poppy Red is a lot more orange than red.
Thank you!
Both Doug and Eliza went to bed early last night so I thought I would try to do it and it worked out! Those are all great color combos!
@@stacyelstone It's wonderful having the instructions that are specific to the H+HTW all in one place. As an example, a number of knitters were having trouble finding YT videos showing how to work wrap & turns on garter stitch pieces. Most of the w&t videos are worked on stockinette pieces.
Hi Stacy - Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I, like you, prefer the wrn-t to the GSR, but I would like to do the 3 slipped stitches on the end of the row. Would you please consider doing a small swatch to demonstrate how this is done?? Many thanks!!
Stephanie of Edible Thoughts Makes has a tutorial of how she does her half and half wraps and she slips the last stitch on the edge. I would watch her tutorial!
@@stacyelstone I have, but she is also using GSRs. Admittedly, I am a somewhat new knitter so maybe it is quite simple to figure it out. It just seems wrn-ts are constructed quite differently than GSRs. 😀
Thanks for the quick reply!
I would also be interested in doing the 3 slipped stitches on the end of the row but using the Wrp-t method. I have watched Stephanie's tutorial, which is excellent, but would I just wait until I have enough stitches on each triangle to start with the 3 slipped stitches at the end of the row? Thank you!
@@bobbieburrs2506 nope! you would start with the 3 slipped stitches right away. And you would only do it on the edge that you are consistently knitting, not the wrap and turn edge.
Thanks SO much, Stacy! I also like the look of the ridge joining the triangles! Your tutorial was awesome! Thanks, again! Bobbie👍🥰
Came for the half and half left with hair envy! Great tutorial thank you
Your video is super, super helpful from start to finish! I use german shortrows but your demonstrated the wrap and turn so beautifully that I would try it when I am ready to do this shawl. Thanks for taking the time to do this, really appreciate it.
Thank you for doing this. I had no clue how to do this by just reading the pattern instructions. I am using the German short rows as shown by cady jax, which is great but for my next one I'm doing this method. I do love the finished ridge this makes!! I'm excited to finish this one and cast on my next one!!!
Yay I'm so glad! It's so fun to use different techniques!
just gorgeous will make this
Your hair style is beautiful on you. Great video.
Thank you so much! I was doing it wrong. Now I can have the perfect one.
Thank you Stacy. I have already knitted 1 side of the wrap more of a baby blanket size but I wasn't sure if I did my wraps the correct way. I have been waiting for your tutorial to guide me through and help me start the 2nd side of my wrap. I casted on my 30 stitches and followed along with your tutorial so thank you again so much. I feel I can continue my wrap now with confidence and I will be making another one for myself.
Ahhhh yay! I’m so glad!
Now I will knit this shawl. I have been wanting to do this for a while. Yay. Thank you so much Stacy.
SUPER helpful tutorial. Thank you so much. New sub here
Thank you!
Thank you Stacy 😊
Hi Stacy, I think with your Instruktions I will start my first Half+Half Triangles - because my first Language is german, thank you so much!
Thank you so very much for such a clear demo!
Thank you so VREY MUCH!!! For such a great video. You have given me the confidence that I can do the warp and turn version as is the pattern. I started one with the German short rows that is coming along ok. I’m not sure at this point how to transition to the next color but I’m sure I’ll have it all figured out when I get to that part. But for sure my next one will be the warp and turn version I’m so excited about that. It will definitely add to my skill sets with my knitting. Thanks again for doing a great tutorial 👍👍👍
I just received my yarn from Purl Soho today! I literally can’t wait to wear it. I’m in Texas so given that the cooler weather is months away I have a bit of time to cast off. Lol
Thank you so much for an amazing tutorial! I’m half way done with my first wrap and as a new knitter this was extremely useful . I also mirror knit so each new pattern/ technic take me some extra time to figure out… I’m doing my wrap with vintage celadon and high tide…. Btw I also love the sound of the needles clicking together…
I’m knitting my second in Pale Mushroom and wheat flour! My first was Kettle black and Stillwater blue! Love them! The third will be colorful!
I love the neutral on neutral! It’s on my list to make!
Also, your speed is incredible!
Now I really want to make one now! Thank you for the encouragement on w&t. I appreciate your tutorial and sweet personality.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad! I hope you love the knit.
Thank you so much Stacy! You did a great job ezplaning the procedure. It was most helpful.
Yay! Thank you!
Thank you, thank you!! I have the yarn ready, I was just intimidated by the pattern.
Ahh I’m so glad! Have so much fun!!
Omg! You look so pretty. Your hair is …everything!
Thank you!!
Great video to show the big picture. Thanks.
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing this tutorial. It really helped!
This was a great tutorial. I wasn't going to get on the bandwagon, but after seeing how much you and Amy Palko (The Meaningful Stitch) enjoyed working yours, I broke down😂. I've been working on mine for a year, which is fine. It really is a great relaxing and meditative knit, and I will make another when this is done! I'm using Holst Supersoft, which has a bunch of color options and is super affordable.
That’s amazing!!
OMG, I has SO MUCH trouble with that pattern.. I just finished it but I would have loved to watch your video earlier!
Thanks so much! Your video is excellent I really need the visuals with the verbal instructions.
I’m so glad this helps! I was very nervous to do a tutorial.
Wow! Learned something new, (wasn't looking for anything particular). Thank You
Also, curious about the yarn you selected. Look forward to more of your enjoyable episodes! Again, thank you
Greatly appreciated. I only wish they would open their store one of these years. Thanks again.
The pandemic has caused a number of craft stores to close their bricks-and-mortar locations and sell exclusively online, whether by preference or out of necessity. The quilting store Jordan Fabrics in Grants Pass, Oregon also comes to mind. They had recently opened a beautiful store location when the pandemic hit. Now that store is closed, and the space is being used as a shipping center for their online-only business.
@@vivianpowell1732 yes I realize that . Thank you. It’s wonderful we can still order from them.
@@joanneyoung1081 I assume you're referring to Purl Soho. I have always found them to be very helpful whenever I order. Last year around this time I treated myself to a large order of Linen Quill for my birthday and Christmas gifts. Staff at Purl Soho was wonderful. Everything arrived in perfect order.
I've not shopped at Jordan Fabrics because I'm not a quilter. I just watch their UA-cam channel because I find their quilting tutorials to be interesting and relaxing.
@@vivianpowell1732 yes , Purl Soho.
Beautiful...and easy to knit. Thanks a lot
This is very helpful! I have made one but I'm definitely using your method for my next one!! Hugs from Texas!
Hello there - you are such a bad influence - but i love you for it - I am also obsessed with Linen Quill and even though it costs a lot to freight it to South Africa - it is worth every cent. I am now getting my friend to get the bug so I am frequently on the Purl Soho website. I have just finished two Willa Sweaters in Linen Quill and they were a joy to knit. Thank you so much Stacy just love watching your podcast and now your tutorial.
Thank you so much!! That's so fun to hear!
So Happy you made this video, Stacy...I know I'll be watching again as soon as I nail down my color decisions! I appreciate how many colors you've shown today and in previous episodes. that helps a lot. I'm considering pale mushroom & lavender opal or twig. and then maybe vintage celadon with lavender opal for a cool neutral...dark denim & oatmeal grey speaks to me too LOL here I go again...wish me luck!
All are such beautiful combos! I feel like you can’t go wrong!
Great tutorial, thank you!
I’m so glad it helps!
Girl your hair and skin look amazing!!! Get it dude
Thank you!
Yippee thank you so much Stacy. Now I can start my shawl. I’m so excited.
Yay! I'm so glad! Happy knitting!!
Thank you so much! I have been waiting for this - so excited to get started!
Yay! I’m so glad!
love love love your curly hair! I always feel most confident when I film in my curly hair
Thank you!!
