Literally couldn't care less about seeing the shot on video! The story and the rest of the video footage is worth every second. Especially giving God the Thanks for your success! Love your videos.
I rember being a new hunter in northern Pa. deer camp in mid 80's n reading an article in outdoor life for Field & Stream magazine about trackers in the Adirondacks. I could not believe the size of this big mountain bucks not to mention how a man will go about tracking one, catching up to it, getting a shot n getting it out. Now i know, thanks Hal !
Hey Hal, i just got my first 8 point Buck here in VT, with my trusty 7600 35 Whelen, after 27 years of shooting Bucks here in the Green Mountains, 19 years of it was with my Game Master 760 .308, im so pumped, and getting him mounted, if the OL' Lady lets me, with the price of everything nowadays, but anyways good luck this 2022 season Fellas!
I’m starting to see my problem killing bucks. I’m not eating enough sandwiches! Well done Mr. Blood! I really enjoy your hunts. Thank you, from South central Kentucky, Mike New
Man you are doing what I've always wanted to do. Track a buck in the snow. Don't get to try it much down here in western north Carolina. Maybe I'll have to come up there and take a stab at it
Hal, great video, thanks, Two questions: 1, what are you shooting for a load in your rifle? 2. What's the difference between the Williams Guide Sight and the Skinner that you are now using? Hope it cools off in Maine this week, We're going below zero in NW Montana!
I remember as a young teen, living in Maine (China) that we often didn’t get snow until Thanksgiving. When you don’t have snow, do you hunt any way, or just wait for snow? I live in SW Missouri now, and we don’t usually get “tracking snow” until after modern firearms season, and sometime even after bow season ends Jan 15. Do you still track on “dry ground?”
Love your videos..Big Woods Bucks…At my age.. I stand hunt these days..I wait the big boys out by being noise careful going to my blind..I set my blinds ..so I don’t walk far enough into the woods/swales to spook the mature deer ..I’m there at least 2 hrs before day break..and stay there all day ..every day. Of gun season...I hunt choke points and am hunting private farm land in Northern Michigan..Other Hunter s spook these big boys onto my area were I stand hunt..mid season pays off usually with a big 6 or 8/10 pt buck….sometimes 2 bucks per season.with a Michigan combo deer license I buy…. Here we can’t track deer like we used to in my young yrs..to much private farm land has been cut up and sold…A Hunter has to go to Michigans UP to hunt like you people do in Maine these days…Anyways super videos..brings back memories we could track deer all day..on big parcels of land.
It will never get old watching Hal chase big Woods bucks!

Congats, What load do you like for that 7600
life is what you make of it.....live it to it's fullest!!!
You know a guy has been carrying a gun around for a while when he wears the bluing off to the shape of his hand print.
No dodge like old blazer ?
What is the raspberries?
Did you get him aged?
I can really respect the miles you guys that track put on to find a big woods buck. You are a true hunter!
