Historic place : Hong Kong Surrender Place on December 25, 1941.Peninsula Hotel built in 1928 and was the site of the official surrender by the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Mark Aitchison Young (1886-1974), to the Japanese, in front of Lieutenant General Takashi Sakai and his Chief of Staff, Tadamichi Kuribayashi, on the third floor of the Peninsula Hotel. During the Japanese occupation (1940-1945) it was the redisence of general and senior officers of the Japanese Imperial Army.

I had an afternoon tea at The Peninsula that day, and I filmed the tour afterwards.
