I'm holding an iPhone 6s right now, I can't believe it's still working fine, but eventually I have to replace it. I'm a fan of small screens like the 12/13 mini and SE, so I might choose one of these two. Unfortunately, where I come from they have raised the price of over 70 EUR so it's not the cheapest product to date and there are better alternatives from Apple itself.
I'm still using a 1st gen SE as my one and only daily and am planning on replacing its battery to keep it running smoothly until the end of its life cycle later this year. There's something oddly satisfying about using the oldest supported iPhone - it isn't flashy nor does it have impressive specs, but it'll do anything I throw at it and while still running the latest iOS builds.
@@johnpoe3012 same here, I'm planning on holding onto my 1st gen SE and replace it with a 14 Pro. I think a case should solve the issue, but I totally agree that the latest iPhones with squared edges and hefty weight can be a handful to some. I do, however, prefer that design aesthetic over the rounded edges.
That rose gold iPhone SE looks beautiful. I’m using a 14 pro max but still I absolutely love that 5s/ SE design. Skipped the 5s so never owned one but remember it looking so good.
I had an se in 2017 and for those 2 years it was alright but i hated how the videos took too much space for being small but then in 2019 the phone started thinking I was tapping it which didnt make sense because I didn't drop it but then the screen also got black spots which didnt make sense also it would die at 20 percent so I went fuck it and bought a galaxy j3 start for 168 dollars which actually held up plus I could expand its storage and use older apps
I'm glad Apple offers smaller phones, I got interested in Apple products when the 2020 SE came out and ever since I've been a fan. From what I know no other manufacturer on the market offers a phone like this one, it's fast, reliable and most importantly works for me.
I love the first generation SE, beautiful design and amazingly still almost as up to date as the latest iPhones, my one does everything I need. Long live the SE and 5S.

@@Heymilyyy_ I'd rather have my SE2020 for 1 year before its successor got announced than wait a whole year with not a new smartphone. Anyway, no one thought that Apple would release a new SE that early. It used to be a 4 year update cycle.
My older brother had a black 32GB iPhone SE in December of 2016, same shape as the IPhone 5S but as quick as the 6S at the time, damn time has gone quick, I wonder how the SE 3 is going to handle itself in battery life 3-5 years down the line
iPhone 5S is the most beautiful phone ever designed. Followed by the Note 20 Ultra. I wished Apple has did the obvious smart move and used the XR body shell for the SE 2022.
I am still using the first generation SE but I stopped updating it to the latest firmware and left it at 14.8.1. I updated it during the first week of iOS 15 (where you can still downgrade) and i really felt that it slowed down especially the youtube app where it felt like i am using a 5s on iOS 12.
SE 1 for the win. SE 1 was cheaper, still had the small form factor and really was the upgraded version of the 5/5c/5s. When the redesign of the SE came out it was blasted because it was still overpriced in comparison to android counterparts but was a gimped version of the other iphones that came out at the time. At the time you could get same size and form factor of the redesign for less money in the android world and even some flagships for the same price.
Im gonna get a 1st gen iPhone SE as a work phone cause I want something small to just talk and send emails Also, Im so glad you videos are more substantial and improving quality Keep up the good work
Really wish they still made the same size as the SE1/5s. The size and design is so perfect. Headphone jack, lightweight, singlehanded ease of use. Just got a new SE3 to upgrade from my SE1 and I just can't get used to the bigger size. It's disappointing. Really sad that all new phones are big these days. I feel like it almost defeats the purpose of having a phone.😔
Honestly if you still can return it, go pick an iPhone 12 Mini. Everything except the chipset is better on that phone plus it's very similar to the 5/5S size
person above me is right, i compared it to my ipod touch 3RD GENERATION and the thing was like .5 to 1 inch difference not including the screen which is way bigger but better. 5.4 inch display for mini i believe
The iPhone SE 3 was a weird play on apple’s part. The first SE was the 5s design, a design that had been retired by apple. The second was iPhone 8, a design that had been retired by apple. I thought the third would be something like iPhone XR, a design that has been retired by apple. It just makes sense to make each SE something like that. The original SE used old 5s parts. The second used old 8 parts. It would make sense for the third to use old X or XR parts since people would be trading in those phones for newer ones and therefore apple would have an abundance of those parts. I thought at least they would change the design somewhat. Maybe an 8 plus style SE with a double camera and larger screen. But instead we got the same SE as 2020 but with slightly better specs. It was a weird move for apple, and the low sale rate proves that it wasn’t a smart one
you will call me crazy, I just stepped down form my 256gb iPhone 13 mini to a 1st generation iPhone se 128gb, and the reason is I'm trying to lower my screen on time and instead use this phone only when I need it, also put it in my pocket and not even notice it, I think the Oreginal iPhone se especially if you change the battery to a high quality aftermarket one such as Ifixit will still run great, so far no regrets, I try to use it heavily just to put it through the test and it's runs great with some expected lag here and there but trust me even my iPhone 13 mini lag sometimes.
A little correction - it’s not a five year old design, it’s an eight year old design. Yeah it has glass back and bigger camera bump like an iPhone 8, but the front looks EXACTLY like an iPhone 6 from 2014. And it’s the front that matters when you’re using your phone, right?
I mean they are very likely to as when Apple redesigns the SE they take an around 3 year old iPhone at the time like the SE 2016 took the body of the 2013 5S and the 2020 SE took the 2017 iPhone 8's body and as they redesign the SE every leap year, in 2024 it's likely that Apple will have the SE 4 based on the iPhone 13 which came out in 2021.
Well they should redesign it to all screen, but also at the same time, keep the same size as the se2 or se1, and add the flat edges like the iphone 13 mini, and the material of the body being aluminum, keep it the camera as only one but also at the same time add night mode and other modes, and the front camera must be upgraded to 12mp.
Can you also try getting an iPhone SE2 on iOS 13.4.1 which is the original software and keep the original accessories, screen protector and get the one with the EarPods, wall adapter and bigger manual
My dad is using the iPhone 7 as his main and the iPhone SE 1 as his secondary phone and they work fine. For some reason now I want an SE 2 or 11. (I have a Samsung Galaxy a52s, I like it but the OS is just bad.)
I bought mine a few days ago on eBay. I searched for refurbished ones in excellent or pristine condition, sold by a commercial seller, not a private individual, and asked if they could give me one with a new 100% health battery installed. Eventually I found a (UK) seller that could meet my requirements. It still cost me only 10% of what a new iPhone 13 Mini would have, so that’s a bargain in my view.
Still use the original SE as my main phone. Kept it on IOS 13 and it runs perfectly fine and still better than some new phones. Battery life is awful but I just have to use it wisely so it lasts longer.

My SE’s battery health went from 99% to 92% after 17 months but iOS15 really killed it. I only use it for UA-cam, light browsing, and screen recording nude scenes. Good phone.
