Smart Way to mix. Big bottom h/w device can be hooked in addition to this. Thanks indeed

Good info! The hi-paas/lo-pass combined with saturation for bass makes spectrum balance easier for sure.

Folks used to ask me how I mix my 808's when in reality most of the impact of my 808's was from having basically NOTHING else hitting at those frequencies !
I do really believe that Negative Eq is the way to go. Boosting frequencies has it's uses but I just feel the mix are much cleaner way you take frequencies out instead of boosting them
Good video, learned a couple cool things here

Very cool to hear you got something useful out of this video! I'm with you on subtractive EQ - I think much of the time that's the shortest path to getting a good balance in a mix

Good description! I have a tendency to over process my tracks. Back in the old days, we barley put anything effects other than some reverb. We relied on different mics and amp settings to produce the tonality and separation.

Honestly I still think that's the best way! Of course, so much music production happens through such a different process now than a band recording live in a room, but getting things right at the source is huge

Since digital audio sounds too prestine, I will focus on LPF more in the future. I've been thinking why my mixes still sound cheap. It's a build up of fizzle frequencies. Good timing with this video! It helps me out now :)

It’s been ten months, do you incorporate it into your mixes now?

@@crrtis yes I did. It works and it is necessary in the digital realm.

@@vigilant545 ended up getting around to try it and now I feel so stupid I didn’t learn about doing this sooner, thanks friend.

No one of you mention that using a filter to cut low end or high freq. produce also phase problems. Cutting not always is a good thing to do, sometimes can ruin the mix.
