This is a pretty awesome video, mind if how do you decided what holes to tape off? Obviously the piston, but whyd you do the 2 areas of that specific bolt?
Those areas are where the mounting bolts interface with the caliper. Basically you want nothing between the bolt washer face and caliper, and between the caliper and bracket mounting surface. If you had a layer of powder coat there, it can impact the bolt preload over time due to potential relaxation in the joint (if the powder coat layer degrades over time). I see a lot of fully powder coated calipers and I'm sure it's something people "get away with", but I generally err on the side of caution especially when the effort to do so is minimal, as in this case. A VW Touareg, rear position. 2004-15 according to the EBay ad. Hope this helps!
What did you use for covering the pistons. By the way it looks super clean!!
Thanks! After removing the pistons, just used some oven safe circle stickers.
To add to that, I also used the old piston seals and then high temperature tape to cover the remaining hole.
