5:10 They have such an ominous feeling because they are based off Shinjuku division which is kinda like a Red-Light district there. Also, the characters representing that is an assassin/doctor, a Salary Man, and a male Host Club member for women 😆
!! you were wondering about why matenrou has such an eerie kinda vibe, this is actually something i like thinking about a lot. they're not really eerie as much as they are "mature", because matenrou act as narrative and character foils to fling posse, who are spontaneous and almost childlike. buster bros and mad trigger crew are also foils. so in division all star songs, where matenrou's verses pretty much always come directly after fling posse's verses, it really emphasizes the difference in their energies; fling posse is bubbly and fun, and matenrou is elegant and dark. them being (basically) opposites is very relevant to hypmic's story! i'm pretty sure the one place where you could read the manga online has taken it down, but the hypmic wikia has translations of all the drama tracks, which basically serve the same purpose, so if you can't find the manga anywhere you could read the drama track translations! you could even listen along since all of the drama tracks are on spotify :) ok, rant over
i'll probably have to get into the story a bit more to get used to the characters. so far i really like the performance of the bass voice guy from mad trigger crew
The last unit on the wiki (the all-female) is the Party of Words, which governs whole of Japan in the franchise (sad coz they only got Femme Fatale as their only group song)
The anime of hypnosis mic is based on the introductory of the main project of hypnosis mic itself like Party of Words ( that one female group you pointed out on the beginning of the video) taking over the government, introducing the first 4 divisions ( Buster Bros, Mad Trigger Crew, Fling Posse and Matenrou ) and it's first Division Rap Battle. Totally stan for Fling Posse here 💛🖤💛
I'd love to see your reactions to some of the group songs! fling posse has the best ones (in my opinion). stella is a great one to start on, it's written like a novel. the others have short trailers you can watch, i'd def recommend listening to those! especially 'ah! osaka dreamin night'
So I was going to make a really long comment trying to sort of explain how some of the characters are connected because it's quite interesting and important to the story, but it would probably be a super long comment. Instead, I'll just say this: one of the interesting things about Hypnosis Mic (aside from literally everything) is that each form of media (drama tracks, manga, anime, stage play) has the same basic premise and the same characters, but they don't all have the same story. The drama tracks and the manga are very close to having the same story, so most people consider those to be the "real" story. The anime and the stage play each do their own thing in terms of story. There are also anime exclusive songs and stage play exclusive songs. Basically, the best part of Hypnosis Mic is that you can consume any of the media you want, whenever you want, however you want, and you'll never get bored because it's always something new but always with the characters you already know and love. I think each person's experience with Hypmic is different, and that's part of the fun. There's no "correct way" to get into it. Okay, the comment is still pretty long. Sorry about that! I hope I didn't make this all more confusing, but if I did, I'm happy to clarify anything! Love the video! ♡
Long text! Some one correct me if I'm wrong in Something So, the manga Is practically about the whole story but, if I'm not wrong there are 5 mangas, "The Dirty Dawg" "Down of Divisions" "BB V.S. MTC" "FP V.S. MTR" and "DH V.S. BAT", The Dirty Dawg Is where you start, here Is where they explain more about the pasts of the leaders and how Japan Is currently under the contrl of the party of the words, a party that's only formed by women and the party who created the hypnosis mics and gave them to people (everything happened after the 3rd World war in this story), with Down of Divisions im not really sure where you put It, but everything that happens there follows or Is happening in The Dirty Dawg era (but as dar as im aware, they still publishing, while TDD manga Is over), The other three follow the same storyline but on the side of each division, this Is why Is important to read the three of them, cause while they intersect in some situations (like the Rap Battles) they have different stories, mostly about their past, current situations they passing trough, team bonding, etc. (Tbh for me Is really fun to see what different things the Divisions do, and also Is very interesting to see how some members of different divisions might know others, or how they are connected) And While the three mangas of the divisions follow the Dramatracks, they might be some variation in content (you know, normal things of adaptation, maybe put new content, etc.) but it's cool to see what you heard in the Dramatracks. In the wiki of Hypnosis mic you can find the list of Dramatracks in order and you can also see the translations there, as dar as i know, all the Dramatracks are on Spotify! I really want to see you react to Femme Fatale if you could, it's the song of the party of the words (the girl team), Thank you so much for the Hypmic week!

But man, what a group song to have, don't you think?
