On shadowcat: first class says you don't have to spend power for an objective SO..... 1. Feed her 1 power 2. Long move then phase rush 3. Pick up/interact for free from first class. 4. Long move away to safety where she now has stealth
I'm excited to try him with Venom and/or Sabretooth for some strong reactive superpowers. With access to Mind Wipe, too, it's basically a whole squad built to abruptly end opponents' activations.
@RichMidGaming will be more interesting/helpful if you add for Breakdown, a block in which you explain - "the best set of missions for this affiliation". Really interesting to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance
I get where you're coming from. The way I justify this stuff is that I assume the lower threat versions of characters are from an earlier point in the character's life. A great example is Spider-Man. We have the new core set costing 3 Threat, the original core costing 4 and Amazing being 5. I think of the 3 threat version being only a few years into Peter's superhero career, with old core being a more seasoned version and Amazing being a veteran. A little like the old Rookie, Experienced and Veteran system in Heroclix if you played that.
I really enjoyed the video - I've been trying to think up what I'd like to do with Prof. X's leadership, so this has given me quite a few ideas. What I hope you'll talk about further in future videos are possible "power repositories" rather than "power chains." You talked about Wolverine being a monster who wants to absorb excess power so he can go wild at the end of the turn, but who else can really benefit from being the beneficiary of multiple other characters' superpower savings? i.e. if Wong, Nightcrawler, and Magik all donate energy to one person, who wins you the game on Turn 2 or 3 because of that massive energy donation?
Honestly, I don’t think there is a single character in the game who can win you it turn 2/3 by doing what you said. Even OG Ghost Rider or somebody like Thanos can be dealt with by your opponent. In terms of other X-Men ‘Big Hitters’ , I’ve found Wolverine to be the stand out, but getting power into Cable, Bishop or Rogue could be very good (they have the potential to take down an enemy or two), but definitely not game winning by any stretch.
The coolest thing is you can play First Class and keep the chain going while still impacting interact secures and extracts if you don’t get the power you need off of turn 1 charge
Great breakdown! I think professor x needs some form of protection or he will just fall over. I think Okoye is another 2 worth considering. The first model I thought of was Ant-Man, transforming for 1 active or reactively can start the chain and he is quite mobile and loves rerolls for seems like a good fit for professor X.
I quite like Emma's headmistress card. Played turn 1 or 2 after feeding her power, which could be very powerful for early board control. So I'd probably bump her to B, but still towards the lower end. Otherwise, yeah, pretty much in the same place. Wong is clearly the splash beast. Again, x-men has so many great tactics that need power, so yeah, it could be crazy with what he unlocks. For splash, I'm not sure how viable it'd be bar wong ofc, but black swan, miles, ghostspider, and a few of the Asgard 3 threats all might work with Charlie.
Cable has Omega'L' Level Threat ? 🤔 Hope they fix that printing error soon 👍 23:08 Iceman's Freeze and Fade is an attack followed by a move, not the other way around.
Wow. We all know you hate Jean, but D tier for a character with a turn 1 size 4 throw or move an activated opponent off a secure superpower is just wrong. And yet you put Bishop in B for his size 4 throw, which he will need 2 additional dice given to him somehow....
I've been testing. The throw is really good, but Jean doesn't do enough else. There's only so much size 4 on your average table. Her builder leaves a lot to be desired with just 5 dice. Her spender is solid, but physical damage means you fail to kill more often than you should for a 5 cost. Preventing pushes and stuff is nice, but you're not likely not getting your spender. I want a 6 dice builder on her. Some games she feels good, but on average, it's not enough.
I tried wong a lot with professor. I found that he can't really start the chain turn 1 if there is mid line objectives. If you have priority you are giving the 1st midline grab to your opponent, if you are 2nd you are giving up the 2nd midline grab. Thor has been pretty spicey with professor.
A debate has arisen in my MCP community: can Prof. X receive the power from his leadership after a different character triggers it by using a superpower?
Yes, 100%. The ‘Allied’ part is both himself and any other character in your squad. The ‘other allied’ part means they must choose a different character than themselves to give the power to.
Great video as always Could yoy sugetst any crisis for professor X and his students? I think you may underestimate Storm: Eye of storm+Lighing bolt is a nice attack wich triger Professor X leadership. So it's not bad for a Threat 3. PS Lebeau is prononced "le bo" it"s french ;)
Played against a friend who tried Gambit under Professor X. While his superpowers work well in the list, Gambit himself is still as terribly niche as he’s always been. Probably not the worst character to take, but I can still think of a lot of other characters that do what Gambit’s trying to do, but better. A low “C” in my book.
I find it quite irritating that both mutant affiliations have massive power generation and sharability. As a guardians player I am nervous and a little to excited to play vs xmen....I dominated brotherhood I don't think PX led X men will be so easy.
Actually tried this yesterday. It's busted with Shadow Cat. Strange and Wong can heal characters, Strange and Shadow Cat can add defensive dice to allies. Prof X gives rerolls. Everyone is impossible to daze or KO
I’m just hate watching at this point. Cable should be bottom of A. This current list does nothing? Not an attrition list, control or anything good. Just a bounce powers team. You need a hammer like Cable. Now with him and Logan you can keep up with other hard hitting teams. Plus Cables ability to give you 2 dice is insane when you can give that to someone else.
Cable was at the top of B - a perfectly fine character that will probably see a lot of play (in my eyes). This list isn’t creating a roster, it’s meant to give people ideas on which characters they could play. As always it based on my opinion (which will always differ from others). I agree that Cable could be strong with Xavier and Wolverine.
@@RichMidGaming I agree that the goal is to look at who works well with Pro X. This video will lead a few people to create list from it. Maybe end the video with a full roster and test it? That would give you an opportunity to create follow ups and actually place the characters based on gameplay and synergy.

100% right - I always get First Class and the Mystique leadership mixed up!

Great video with my favourite faction. Trying to find the energy to paint now!

great work, have been Jonesing for this one!
Love these videos! A find it a little odd the Professor himself isnt 5+ threat.

I was Wondering when you would cover Prof X since you didn’t make a video on his transmission drop.
I've been waiting for this one!
Glad I voted, glad I watched. Thank you for your content

A bump for 1 and medium move does not get you to the middle. You can double walk and bump backwards but that's not very safe.
Yeah. I think Magik is good with Charles, but not as good as Shadowcat. You probably want them both for some crisis.
Cable has Omega'L' Level Threat ? 🤔 Hope they fix that printing error soon 👍
23:08 Iceman's Freeze and Fade is an attack followed by a move, not the other way around.
Not putting Nightcrawler in S is insane to me lol

Since they lowered EotS on Storm, she can now keep the chain going especially since that ability will want to be used a lot anyway.
I think she should be high in the B or low on the A tier.
Cyclops has a lot more synergy with Prof X than Bishop. Miss there I think

That is the trade off when playing a ‘chain’ - it only really works if you have prio and your opponent doesn’t have Bill/eyes

Drop a like for this all meat and no veggie breakdown!
If I'm bringing wong, I'm splashing my man sorceror Supreme. I don't make the rules. Except i did

PX should be a 5 imo
