    I get why people find her annoying but how would YOU act if you found out that your mother travelled through time and the father you have known your whole life wasn't your father? I mean I wouldn't believe Claire if I were her because it's a ridiculous story. So, cut her some slack haha

      Yes! Add on to that that her "father" has just died and she's never been close to her mother, only to then find out her whole life is a sham. She acted normal IMO.

    People are so unsympathetic to Brianna and I don't understand it. Picture your parents, do it, however old you are, however old they are, dead or alive, imagine them telling you that they're not your mother/father. Would anyone react differently? On both sides of my family people have turned out not to be related to who they thought they were and the shitstorm, let me tell you.
    One of my aunts still isn't talking to her long lost elder brother who was given up for adoption and it has been 20 years (she's convinced her mother would never do that and he's lying about his identity). Everyone else dealt with knowing their mother gave her first child up for adoption and never told them in their own way. And never knowing if she planned on telling them before she died. And my poor uncle spending half his life tracking down his family to learn his mother had already passed away and his one of his sisters hating him.
    On my father's side of the family my grandmother's aunt turned out to be her sister and she's still a bit mad at her mother/my great grandmother for lying. She missed out on having a sister for 21 years and I can’t imagine what her sister thought when she found out her sister was actually her mum and her parents were actually her grandparents. My gran in her 70s and her mother has been dead for 30 years but she still talks about how angry they were when they found out, she says she can understand lying to other people to save her reputation but not never telling either of them. You can forgive people but the hurt they've caused doesn't go away, sometimes not ever.
    From experience Brianna has acted a lot more calmly and maturely than many would in her situation. She comes around to the idea of Jamie within a few days, few weeks to really accept it? Not to mention the idea of freaking time travel! I'm impressed, she should talk to my aunt, give her some tips.

      True. Imagine that your mother tells you that you are the daughter of a man from the 18th century ... The first thing you think is "my mother has gone completely crazy". That's why Brianna's attitude is logical, absolutely.

      I was talking more in relation to the books. But since on the subject of looks, what about book Dougal and Colum, and wasn't Geilis supposed to be like a blonde? They might not have looked like them, but they carried the persona well. Let's give Sophie the chance to be Bree for more than just one episode.

      EmSePet20 For me, those characters were far less developed in my mind. With only Claire's POV, all the time, the characters were only as developed as she saw them.. The actors chosen for those roles complete pushed aside the books for me personally. I also didn't have the negative reaction that I had as I watched SS. DG had repeatedly and over and over again stressed Bree's physical characteristics etc, that they leaped to the fore - which made me wonder why RM didn't take them into account or chose to ignore them. Again she stands out not because she's so good, but because everyone else is good, and she is not at their level.

    • @anemated20
      @anemated20 8 років тому +4

      imiss toronto Sometimes I would think this show could have done better if RM wasn't calling the shots. A small part of me wished that they could have given SS blue contacts, maybe? SS's got some great mentors with Sam, Cait and cast, at least. I hope things will get better as SS adjusts to her new role and she reach everyone's level eventually, since this show has had great casting so far with amazing chemistry.

    Brianna is not Jamie child.
    Her mother have blue eyes, Jamie have green. There is no chance that their child will have in real life dark brown eyes.
    ;)
    Very bad choice of actres or Give her a green eyes please....

    • @EyesOfTruth-ix2ki
      @EyesOfTruth-ix2ki 6 років тому +35

      It could be recessive genes. If both parents have recessive genes of brown then it is possible. Plus, if i remember right, Jamie's sister has brown eyes

    • @therra1101
      @therra1101 6 років тому +16

      yeah because eye color is the most important thing, it is an adaptation! you can´t always have it exactly like in the books

    • @messmeg7582
      @messmeg7582 6 років тому +7

      brown eyes is a dominant gen !!!!
      Short lesson - if
      A- dominant -is brown
      a - recessive - blue
      ą - in the middle - green
      and we have two gen in pair
      aa - blue
      aą - green
      ąą - green
      Aą - brown
      Aa - brown
      AA- brown
      aa+aą(or ąą) is not Aą/Aa/AA
      there is no chance for a child with brown eyes
      mayby is not important but it broke my immersion every time I see Brianna

      mess meg
      This article legit says it that TWO blue eyed parents can have a brown eyed baby.
      genetics.thetech.org/ask-a-geneticist/determining-dominant-and-recessive-traits
      This one also says it is possible for a green eyed and a blue eyed parent to have a brown eyed baby
      www.quora.com/Is-it-possible-for-a-blue-eyed-father-and-green-eyed-mother-to-have-a-brown-eyed-child

    • @messmeg7582
      @messmeg7582 6 років тому +2

      two brown eyes parents can have blue eyes child cos:
      Aa+Aa can give you ------> aa
      but I repeat there is almost no chance to two blue eyes parents had brown eyes child
      aa+aa always give you -----> aa
      if "Surprisingly, blue-eyed parents sometimes have a brown-eyed child" they should do a genetic test of the father and postman.
      qote: "Now this isn’t that common so we could still say that blue eyes are mostly recessive." this probability is 0,0001 because it had to come to a spontaneous and rare mutation of the gene.
      One exception does not undermine the general rule.
