    if 7x+1 = 13y+12, remainder is 64
    but for 13x+12 = 7y+1, remainder is 63

    Also I observed that for the question with solution (5,3);
    If we put y = 0 in 12x = 17y +9;
    we get x = 9/12 , remainder of which is 3, and 3 is the value that we get for y.
    Is this a valid shortcut?

    Sir how to identify whether to use Chinese remainder theorem or Euler theorem?

      Eulers theorem is used when numerator and denominator is prime no but if the the prime denominator is large no and become hectic to solve then we use Chinese theorem where dr= a× b here a and b both are coprime... I hope you understand this

    Sir last question can be directly done by euler....
    97^97/10 = (7)^97/4 = 7....

    The last question x and y also take value of 8&3 respectively. Then the answer bcms 17 . It also applies the same rules.. But different answers . Also instead of trial and error if v follow the second method v might end up with different answers also. How do v know which is the correct answer.

      remainder should be always less than the denominator.If remainder is greater than denominator then we have to divide it again.
      thus we divide 17 again by 10 as 17 > 10 .

    At 4:10
    in the video, why we have divided -1x by 9 because in the previous step we have already found the remainder to the expression of (17x -9y)/9, so while finding remainder hadn't it been cancelled in the first step? My question is why we are writing (-1x)/9 ?

      we are finding the value of numerator for which , when divided by denominator we get the remainder as 1. the coefficient of x can vary depending on the problem. Hope it clarifies.

      Bro just divide 13 with 2..Quoteint will be zero and thats why remainder is 2.

      Divide 17 by 12 you get the negative remainder ~7

      17 when divided by 12 gives a positive remainder of 5 therefore the negative version of the remainder becomes - 7 because ,
      17 = 12(2 ) - 7 , where 2 is the quotient ) hope you got it.

      I also confused first time, but don't worry.
      First of all always transfer the -ve sign to right, now you have to find a value of X which when dividing by 9 gives you -1 as a remainder.
      Since remainder never be negative, convert -1 to +ve form which is 8 ( since 9= 8+1 we have always two remainder).
      Now the right side value is always the answer probably!
      Hence X = 8 is the answer because if you divide 8 by 9 then remainder will be 8.

    at 20.12 why is the value 64, it should be 63 right?... because when we put x=9 and y=4 in the equation [7x+1=13y+12] it is 63 on both LHS and RHS

      The ans we get is 64 only because 7x+1 = 7(9) + 1 = 63+1 = 64 and 13y+12 = 13(4) + 12 = 52+12 = 64
