Are you charging someone twice what they owe you, or were they being paid twice what you owe them? Is it an estimated value on how much you think the client will receive from a 3rd party? Invoicing a client means only one thing. Have you never dealt with invoices? Also, it wasn't up to Julian to decide how long it would be. Longer TV slots cost more money, so they told him exactly how long the commercials had to be.
Possibly David Like the Japanese Gamer said, there are certain negative connotations at the idea of someone using a product to overcharge someone. It seems odd that someone would put that in their commercial.
TV is seriously riddled with some really crappy commercials these days. Some are so bad they make me mad at the company. It is so refreshing to see a commercial that is awesome, funny, simple, and gets the message across. You rock Julian, keep on doing what you're doing!

If I may be completely honest... if I were to pay someone to shoot a commercial that was to be aired on television I'd expect something of a little bit higher production value. This looks come up with, shot and edited in one afternoon, maybe not even. I know you could've come up with something a bit more clever and visually appealing (even the vlog looks nicer). Being Julian Smith, I know you've got what it takes, but for me, somehow it didn't really shine through.

Perhaps this short was a trial run for them. They need to give you at least a 45 second commercial to really give your character time to "do his thing". It did seem a little rushed as a "one-liner", but it is understandable in a new venture. All the best to you, and Merry Christmas!

I did, but that commercial is 1 and a haf minute long. While julians are short commercials for between breaks in TV shows.
In all honesty this really isn't sub-par or noticeable compared to other quick-sketch commercials. It may not be amazing but it works.
