I'm sorry to say it, but this track list is incorrect. The tracks with no concerto number are actually No. 7, and those marked No. 7 are actually No.8. Probably others are incorrect also. Please recheck and correct this list. It is important for students as well as music lovers not to be misled.
To me, the Baroque era was the most lively and expressive of the eras. It's difficult to feel down with strings and harpsichord brightly shining. Blessed Corelli.
It is correct he smoked a lot of hemp back in the days, his uncle used to be a hemp sail maker and they used to smoke the rope for relieve, which you can clearly hear in his compositions.
Archangelo Corelli (Fusignano,1653 - Rome, 1713) was a Italian baroque composer and violinist. His most important works are Concerti grossi, variations on La Follia, violin sonatas, small works for violin, trio sonatas… J.S.Bach, Pietro Locatelli and Francesco Geminani studied the compositions of Corelli.
Dear Brilliant Classics, Boxing Day Greetings. Many Thanks For This Awesome and Amazing Upload Of Corelli's Enchanting and Alluring 12 Concerts. I am deeply indebted to you Guys for what you all did earlier in 2018 when Brilliant Classics uploaded Corelli The Complete Edition, Volumes 1-3. I am still listening to them and savouring them all the time. I dig the Baroque Music of Italian Composers like Corelli, Torelli, Locatelli, and Manfredini Big Time. Their Music is the reason I am able to live on a day to day basis. I live, eat, and breathe this genre of music 24-7. It is a shame that I am not a Professional Violinist who could have appreciated these works much more than I do now but i guess I must be grateful to a Supreme Power that at least I can appreciate this Heavenly Genre Of Music Non Stop. I love like crazy Dutch Ensemble Groups that perform Music such as this on Period Instruments. My Favourite Dutch Ensemble is The Awesome and Amazing Van Swieten Trio that perform Excellently Haydn's Heavenly Piano Trios. It is a 10 CD Set. It seems to be an Inprint CD Set. The Pianist who is part of the Van Swieten Trio is my all time favourite Pianist after the Hungarian -- Klara Wurtz. I am talking about -- Bart Van Oort. His Fingerwork on The Forte Piano is a delight to listen to. Eustace D'sa -- Mumbai, India The Best Friend and Supporter Of Brilliant Classics.
Wonderful presentation of Corelli's classic works. Belder & his group seem to have a perfect sense of how to reach modern ears & sensibilities with their "antique" playing. Not sure if Zeus abducting Europa was part of Corelli's intention, but if we're going to have Abductions, should we make the best of it with superb music? :) Just kidding...
