You'll love Glasgow. I came up to Glasgow for a 6 month contract. I ended up moving here because it's so friendly and the Scots are great neighbours. It's a great city.
I am scottish and grew up watching scottish comedy from scotch and rye to Rab C Nesbitt to still game and everything else inbetween and dont forget to try the stovies mate and enjoy the stadium tour of celtic park (it is better that the other one)

Italian - La Vita (ask for the cake menu at the end !)
Or Di Maggios in Royal Exchange Square (best Lasagne)
Moved from Glasgow a few year back and so miss the Alishan. Now staying in a wee town with 3 Indian restaurant's n they're awe shite
