    Nice! Just picked up a new tip from you. Getting the rope out of the way while cutting the directional face cut with a knot and slack. I love it!! Can’t wait to try it. ❤❤❤

    Such a good vid had to re-watch this morning and yeah that saw (the first one the 25.4cc top-handle) is definitely the same one I've got- want an extra 1.5" on your bar? Remove the piece of plastic that the dogs/bucking-spikes screw into, that piece is there JUST for holding the bucking-spikes (which you don't need on this lil saw!) and you lose 1.5" on how far you can put your bar into something! Hope you read this :D

    • @cerberusbonsaiarboricultur774
      @cerberusbonsaiarboricultur774 5 років тому

      I wanted to share a picture of my saw (my bumper is removed), I had posted it to the facebook I made for 'Cerberus Bonsai' several days ago but I can't figure out how to get a URL from a facebook pic, so I copied it to my imgur here imgur.com/gallery/gAftuNz that's a picture of the saw with the bumper off, there's one thing and it IS IMPORTANT which is that, when you remove the bumper, there's a single, thick cable/hose coming out that's pressed against the body (it's there in my picture), I'm going to set my saw on its rear so I can put a big drop of epoxy over it so it is extra protected, but its natural bend/placement is pressed right against the body so it's not like it's flopping around when you remove the bumper, I've yet to do any protection on mine and have brought it into a few canopies since removing the bumper, am just careful not to smash the body of the saw which I wouldn't do anyways ;)

    You are my idol jason 👍💪 im from the philippines and i work in a electric company. I really want to apply or we should say that i want to immitate your way of cutting down trees because here in the ph we could not afford for tools like the rope and the climbing sets that is why we cut trees sometimes with out any safety harness and putting our lives in great danger. I salute your safety practices..im hoping and praying that you could help me or give some advice in the future in our way of working here in ph. Godbless 😇

    Just curious, is there a specific reason why you don’t use the humboldt cut for topping? Seems like a perfectly reasonable time to use it I’d say.

    • @ArborJason
      @ArborJason  7 років тому

      May I ask whats the different between humboldt and conventional cut on top?

    • @hopkinstreeexperts759
      @hopkinstreeexperts759 7 років тому

      Jason Ma the humboldt is essentially an upside down conventional cut and best for the topping the tree, it allows the hinge to break at a similar spot, but the piece drops down instead of out. And in my opinion it’s easier to cut up there, you use the top of the bar for both cuts. I’ve been wanting to make a video on this for some time.

    That's one skinny a$$ tree. Love my Huskys but I am still running a 455e with a 14 bar for limbing. They really should have a smaller over hand series like Echo or Stihl or like some of the electrics that are being introduced. A Makita brushless looks promising and I wouldn't mind trying out on a tree that size.

    Not trying to be mean, but he doesn't need to make notches, cut so far into the front than come into the back step up a few inches back cut in so far stop, it will break off, plus his notches don't have to be that deep, good job anyways!!!

    Seems like notching every long id a waste of time and energy when they r 3 ft long. Why not snap cut and dump ...and it's less pieces of wood u got to pick up

      I assume you're talking about using a half hitch before tying your bowline on the limb or top. In 30 yrs of climbing i hardly use a half hitch first. The only time i do is if the limb diameter is so large that i think it might split to my knot before i can cut it off, but I have always used a stihl 025/250 for a climbing saw, so i can cut through most limbs fast enough. Sometimes if I'm in a bucket and cutting a really large top with a butt catch, I'll put a half hitch on it first so the rope doesn't slip off the end. In my very expert opinion though, the half hitch on most limbs is a waste of time and energy and completely unnecessary. I'm sure you disagree though
