    I'm gonna be honest. I saw that first pillar at the start and thought "No one way he made that out of cardboard. That's so detailed!" I'm sitting here flabbergasted while eating my sandwich.

      Yeah, it's like watching Bob Ross paint a randon sky, and 10 minutes later, it's a perfect mountain scene. You watched how you got there, but are still amazed. 😂 Great Video!

    Three tips I've learned when working with this kind of terrain:
    1. Use a similar color marker to color in any white edges that still show after assembly.
    2. When possible, add an extra bead of hot glue to the (non-visible) insides of corners, particularly along long joints.
    3. When possible, add weight. In this particular project I would stack several washers or pennies on the very bottom base before gluing the main section down. It helps to keep things from getting knocked around during play.
    Another awesome project, Kris!

      Weighting, whenever possible, really does make a difference.
      And yeah, coloring white space is essential.

    • @CrookedStaffTerrain
      @CrookedStaffTerrain  4 місяці тому +2

      @@davidrath4931 They'll be open both sides - but you will be able to butt them up against a wall too (or just describe it's an enclosed stairway - but leave them open for gameplay).
      The trick is going to be making them modular (in the sense that they can be as tall/long as we like)

    you can also glue a couple of washers inside the base of the pillars to give them weight and wont tip over so easily.

    • @CrookedStaffTerrain
      @CrookedStaffTerrain  4 місяці тому

      I thought about gluing something to the inside - but they actually turned out to be quite 'bottom heavy' - so I didn't bother in the end.
      I wouldn't hurt though - especially if you like some heft to your pieces :)
