Brilliant. BUT please note. 12x9cm isn't right. I think simple mistake when adding numbers over film. I made it with 8cm x 12cm not 9cm x 12cm. Perfect. Also I see a queary closing card. I suggest you close card before adding candle. You can adjust hight. Or make outer layer card larger. Place cake on plate and fold. Size up this way and you won't waste that base card. Thank you for easiest cake I've found.

You need to review the steps in the video, check to see if you did something wrong in the part that makes the card unable to close?

I made this card for my friend's birthday and I am sure that she'll love it. The only thing I would add to the tutorial are more specific lenght information. It would make it easier to recreate. ;)

At 1:31. I just guessed to be 12 cm but I think that's wrong now. Because it didn't fold into itself correctly 😭

I'm attempting this at the moment. I don't like how there isn't a 360° view to show the back as it opens and closes. I am testing the cake on a scrap bit of card paper to check the seams where the cake is attached to the paper. But it seems bulky and doesn't close flat. I'll have to play about with it and see how best to adjust it.
Don't know what problem you are having with the card. But I want you to watch the video slowly and check if the steps are correct in my way. I have tried to be specific so that everyone can successfully make the card. Good luck with the card. ❤️
@DG Handmade I figured it out. It was quite difficult to stick the cake in the middle of the card. Instead, I measured exactly how it should line up, then keeping the cake flat, I glued the underneath of one side only. Once it was stuck securely, I then used glue on the underneath of the other side of the cake, and then I closed the card shut, pressing down for a minute or so. The card was nice and flat, then when I opened it, it was perfect! The cake popped up 😊 thank you for making this video, I would not have been able to attempt it without your tutorial.

I see more than 4cm and maybe 8 and then you cut the rest.
Its dimensions are 11x12cm
Its very pretty but why dont you specify the measurements?? Its really hard to guess it.
