I’m a 40-year-old man and this guy has been my favorite DJ since I was 16 years old. The fact that he’s able to maintain such consistent longevity in the field as a testament to the brilliance that his mind is.
@@definiti0n58 I had a drum and bass Mx cd he put out in like 2002. It was a lot of fun. Great mixing with peppered in scratches. Dude is genuinely world class.
him and atrak battling together, growing , and literally shaping edm but still can throw down on any hip hop scratch battle, if anyone reading this hasnt watched dmc scratch battles with skratch bastid, craze, and atrak please look it up
This is dope man... love the smooth infusion of technology to the world of turntablism.... brings in another level without destroying everything we have built so far! A beautiful evolution!
I just want to thank you again for continuously pushing yourself and therefore challenging the rest of us. I found your art when I was at the lowest part of my life struggling to find a reason to hold on. But you, you're so unique and you think different and you break ground and you do it with finesse. And it reignited the spark in me that knows I have something beautiful to show this world, even if its not understood by most. You showed me that there is a medium that I can utilize to fully express myself with and own every fiber of my being and not be afraid to really go for it and say yea yea yall are doing that, but this is me. And I cannot thank you enough for this gift of inspiration. I know you do it for yourself but I just want you to know that you're really saving people, just by doing you. Turntablism saves lives.
Saw Craze in 97 or 98 in NY at Twilo nightclub during Zulu Nation. He battled one of the guys from Xmen crew, not the main three but one of their guys in the crew, damn forgot his name! But when Craze came on, he was clean af! His bread and butter was his juggling. I knew he was gonna be bigtime and DMC champ soon. Good times back then!
I was super blessed to be judged by craze in the syd Australian ITF compition & placed 3rd in nsw state in my first ever try we all partied thru the night till the sun came up the next morning and he was such a joy to be around & to watch jamming at the after party this cat is next level for real he’s sick with it
Wow. Such next level moves. A master at work embracing new technology to make music. The mix of the analogue and the digital, what a cool piece. The sensors on the vinyl knowing what he’s doing, the mixer with the sample pads to select from. It reminds me conceptually of when Final Scratch launched with Richie Hawtin putting out DE9 Closer to the Edit, a new kind of mix only capable because of the technology. Big Up Craze
Big up bro. It is amazing to see that you can always bring new ideas to the game and stay in love with the art! I have been a world DMC finalist once but I never had this love or hunger. Much love and always an inspiration!
Mannnn Mannnn Mannnnn... From the 1990's,thru the 2000's, thru the 2010s, to the 2020s, who STILL the ONE!! - give the damn man the crown - AGAIN. He was a G.O.A.T. , is a G.O.A.T, and STILL A G.O.A.T. #FACTS!! Keep on slaying my G - @DJCraze. Period.
Bruh you always DELIVER THA GOODS! Thanx 4 always pushing, inspiring, motivating us to go further my brother! You and your efforts are appreciated. Respect!
Thank you Craze for continuing to elevate the game. This right here is quality. A very well put together piece.... when I saw the single turntable, I thought that you weren't going to juggle, but you didn't disappoint in what looked like the post credit scene. Salute to you!
Craze is the don. Full stop. But watch Jon 1st on one turntable too.. seems counterintuitive to juggling but there’s some quality skills even on 1 deck 🤯
I was lucky enough to meet Craze when he toured Australia this year. Hes a great guy, and absolute monster live on stage. I waited 25 years for that day, super thankful for the opportunity to kick it with this legend, in my eyes he will always be the greatest. The Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of turntablism. The Mohammed Ali of hectic mashed up party sets. Goat.
It's worth it dude... Also if you get setup you can use it for production even just using the mixer and loading up samples you would use to produce with and using it like a sampler is a game changer when producing
@@djdeemz7651 yeah i see a lot of potential with what i'm doing right now, i do some live looping and sample manipulation, always wanted to scratch; and dig for real instead of in browsers too
I do occasionally wish that dj hero 3 would come out and would feature him, Skratch bastard, qbert, and Sara. I know it wont happen but the hope was always there. On another note, great work as always!
Craze routines and battle sets have been the dopest since the 1990ies. Full of musicality, complexity, skills and forward thinkiong ideas. The true GOAT.
Craze is still that dude! Watching him improvise d&b at Ultra back in 01’ was probably some of the craziest (pun intended) ish I’ve ever seen! Rare breed indeed. Big up! 💯
It's pretty much impossible to have a consensus Top 5 DJs of All Time... but Craze would be on a helluva lot of people's lists (including mine). ... Oh, and FWIW - his 2000 DMC set was the best ever.
Definetelity the GOAT!!!! Damn!!! 1) Thanks for the words and the tributes to DJs in the first part 2) how the hell are you doing what you doing in the second part?!?!? Blowing my mind away
What really makes him so great is how he's able to convert his imagination into something sonically viable. I have yet to see anyone doing that with decks and a mixer like Craz...no one!
What people don't know about Scratch djs and Turntablism, is that the rhythms and phrases they were coming out with, that bad boy, ill feeling, face screwing UGH, are the inspiration to the rhythms and phrases you hear later in EDM, like Dubstep, Electro House fills, Trap, etc. It just did not exist before that. Dj Craze actually provides a good example of someone who could use other Electronic genres to display that sound and bounce.
