much respect for taking this on in your garage...Looks like you have kids too which means limited project time. Looking forward to how the next wrap turns out. Especially bc I wrapped my car in my garage a month ago haha. I know for sure my body work was shoddy and I'll have something like this when I take it off in a few years!
That’s definitely hail damage. I do collision repair professionally and if your car were to come into my shop I would 100% opt for a new roof skin because that thing is a mess but I know that’s not ideal in your situation. To get what you’re currently working with to a presentable quality the entire roof would need to be reworked (skim coat of body filler). If you wrap over the roof the way it is all of the 200 tiny little dents will be visible
Thanks for the input! I did indeed skim coat basically the entire roof… lots of sanding to say the least. I’m having fun which is the most important part for me 👍

Yes limited time for sure for my projects… I get a little done day by day. Slowly but surely we’ll get there! 😎

Also the brown is rust and will continue to spread if you don’t completely sand it off assuming it’s surface rust (same person wife’s account lol)

You're a pretty cool dude
That’s so nice of you to say 😊 there is hope out there in this world 🤫
Etch primer doesn't seal the surface long term. Epoxy primer is better for that...or better yet, actual paint
Do it the right way with the epoxy primer and self leveling filler. Yeah it looked like hail damage.
I say this as a professional collision repair tech but wtf is a self leveling filler?
Wouldn't be a Subaru if you didn't find some hidden shit wrong lol this sucks but after all I've seen you do in this garage you got this,
Ain’t that the truth! Thanks for your encouraging words my dude! Wish me luck!
