Salam, could you please do a video on some basic things you asked your husband before getting married to him? That would really help a lot, anyway loved the video very informative. May Allah swt grant you Jannah. Ameen.
I really need to get married. So stuck with that. Don’t know how, what to do, where to find and who to find. My parents are already worried about never ending failing tries we made in order me to get married .
@@alsuenglishteacher1425 asalamu aleikum sister, i recommend checking out "sunnah match", it's a halal match making site where you put out a profile and if you match with another person they contact your wali
I’m appalled that you were not explained the risks related to contraceptives, and that your concerns were dismissed. I’m still in medical school, and even I would know that anxiety and depression can absolutely be worsened by the pill. Ughhh health care professionals need to do better. Alhamdulillah I’m glad you found an option that works for you in the end.
Literally right in time omg. I'm a teen and I wanted to take the pills for my hormonal acne, guess I'm not taking a chance for this. Thank you Samantha, peace be upon you inchallah.
it upsets me that the pill is often treated as the only option to treat numerous medical problems such as pcos and endometriosis. surely in 2021 we would have a cure for these things??
It doesn’t cure PCOS... never... for PCOS you need to watch out your diet and insulin resistance... you need to keep moving... and do seed cycling... in Shaa Allah it will cure PCOS
I agree with your opinion, I've had these symptoms and even worse! But I do recommend anyone to ask for more than one medical advice before taking these pills. May Allah SWT grant everyone a strong health and help us use it in a correct way.
The Messenger of Allah Muhammed (pbuh) said: "Allah, Blessed is He and Most High, said: 'O son of Adam! Verily as long as you called upon Me and hoped in Me, I forgave you, despite whatever may have occurred from you, and I did not mind. O son of Adam! Were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky, then you sought forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you, and I would not mind. O son of Adam! If you came to me with sins nearly as great as the earth, then you met Me not associating anything with Me, I would come to you with forgiveness nearly as great as it.'" [ *Evidence At-Tirmidhi 3540 authenticated by shaykh Al-Albaanee]*
I was on the pill and I stopped taking it recently because it messed with me so much, thank you for making a video on this topic and making others aware❤
My period was very similar to yours it would even cause me to through up. I also lost so much blood from heavy periods that I had very low iron. I decided to take the pills too, my doctor told me that it doesn't affect fertility. I had the same mood swings but after a while they left and it isn't a problem anymore. My periods are now much lighter, Alhamdulilah, and I don't have anymore pain. I don't think I could get off them at this point but thank you for your insight. How did you stop your pains if you got off the pills?
More me the pains went away. If you are experiencing severe pain then there’s a reason for it, so it’s better to find the reason & cure it than to mask it with a pill.. the book recommendation I shared covers more on this and what the pain could be
Nice talk. I do agree as i personally was on the pill and made me only feel sick and gain weight. However as a woman with pcos, contraception was actually prescribed to me by doctor as means to get pregnant. I dont know much about studies but most of the woman i know got pregnant within 2 months after stopping the pill and even doctors said to me its the easiest way to get pregnant..(to take it for some time and then stop)
Al salam alaykum, thank you for making this video, it's really important that we talk about such topics. I think the biggest issue is that as women we have to adjust to birth control, no matter what form we take it in! Rather, it should be the other way around, birth control should be tailored to our bodies but unfortunately due to many reasons it's not the case. However, I do hope women keep advocating for change and at the bare minimum we should increase awareness on the topic.
@@Hanfahhussain actually no, I'm very light. I barely bleed and after 2/3 days it's over 🙁 it's always been like that ever since I was 11. I wonder if something's wrong with me but there's no way to know
I had to have IUD it's been a blessing and a curse... Natural family planning worked for the beginning years of my marriage. Your so spot on with the risk
@@SamanthaJBoyle it has been mostly positive. I was not regular as well as being iron deficient anemia it cut my transfusion and iron infusion down to just once or twice a year. The down side sometimes it randomly causes cramps (no spoting or discharge just weird cramps) it's only good 5years at a time and they've not given me a definite answer on the next change over Allah knows best the answer will come in time. *side note the Merina is known to cause benign lumps in your breast especially if you drink soda they're like calcification they recommend you not drink soda while you have the iud or just not get it if your heavy soda drinker* also the thin wire that's left in place for placement n removal it sometimes pokes your cha-cha from the inside that is a definite draw back cause it's shockingly uncomfortable. Bless you sister for bringing these issues to light they're real n we should be comfortable n in honest in general I wish I had the knowledge base that's available to young girls now. (Sorry for my rant) peace and blessings to you.
There is also the option of a copper IUD that can be used for contraception rather than Mirena (which is hormonal) It won't be suitable for all women and isn't used for the other purposes that contraceptive pills/injections can be used for but at least it doesn't have the same effects on fertility like the hormonal pills (fertility usually returns quickly once copper IUD is removed)
The iud is dangerous. It does not always prevent fertilization and when it fails to it will cause the forming baby to not implant in the uterus and therfore it has no chance of survival. Some people are ok with this. Personally I believe life begins at conception 🌻
I started it for the same reasons, I am currently weaning off of it (yes, it’s a thing!) to avoid side effects (especially acne, I know it often gets baaad once you stop the pill!). I can’t wait to be off of it!
Yes!!! I was on the pill as a contraceptive because I also wasn’t comfortable inserting anything inside my body, and I thought it was the easiest contraception to stop when I do plan to have kids. My acne got so much better but my moods got worse and I was very emotionally imbalanced so when I decided to come off, my acne came back and I still struggled with anxiety as I did before the pill but it wasn’t intense. I went to a skin therapist and she said that you can still have imbalances a long time after the pill. I also heard the reason why women use birth control and not men it because they compare the side affects of the pill to the pain and experience women have to go through during pregnancy and childbirth, but for a man it’s “why would we give him side effects”
I just saw this video and I relate so much to every single side effect you have mentioned. When I was on the pill I got all the mentioned side effects. As well as not being able to eat anything without being sick and being unwell every single day. It was horrible.
Thanks alot I'm a mum to six kids and recently started taking the pill but I stopped due to bleeding nearly every 10 days so annoying it's hard what to I use I am happy with six kids and not trying for any more kids any advice I'm currently breastfeeding and I don't want to use any birth control but don't want to get pregnant 🤦♀️
Salams Sam, thank you for doing a video like this legit i was talking to a friend of mine about getting off the pill and HERE comes Sam reading my thoughts again. What app would you reccomend/have tried for period tracking?
I have used the pill too in the past and stopped it because of increased anxiety and depression. I have tried many different brands and hormones. I have an IUD without hormones now but my periods are so long (from 5-6 days to 10-11 days) that I am also thinking about taking it out. But anyway happy to not have hormones in my body.
I think its so cool that you made this video. There are definitely risks when we take any kind of medication. I am so thankful for the BC pill for me because it helps keep my blood sugars more even (I have type 1 diabetes) when I am off the pill the entire week before my period comes I am resistant to insulin & the blood sugars are sky high... everyone is different though. Not for every lady that is for sure.
Thank you sis. I am taking the pill currently to help my hormones. I have hyperdrogenism so it’s hard for me to have child and my dr told me the pill would balance out my hormones and that I would be able to conceive. I’m glad I found your video. I’m going to stop the pill and if Allah wants to bless me with a child, he will.
Just use the natural cycles app. Its conpeltly natural !! No harm at all and very accurate. The app i use is called "my calendar" and its reeeeally good!!
part 1 What is the meaning of the right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) in the Holy Quran? I tried my best to translate from Arabic to English I hope it will be understood. Clarifications what was stated in heritage books that the right hand possess are prisoners of war and what the legacies called captives from war, is something that is not mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, as there is no relationship between the right hand possess and the prisoners of war. As for what is stated about the prisoners of war in the Qur’an text are two things : -to be released without compensation. -Acceptance of a ransom in exchange for the prisoners' release. if this is on the prisoners of war who are fight you what about theirs wife and children . the Lord did not order to keep prisoners of war or slave them in the Quran , and this is clearly mantioned in this following Quranic verse The malik alyamin is consist of two words What does Mulk mean see the next verse ﴿فمكث غير بعيد فقال أحطت بما لم تحط به وجئتك من سبإ بنبإ يقينإني وجدت امرأة تملكهم وأوتيت من كل شيء ولها عرش عظيم﴾ [An-Naml: 22-23] Tamlkhm (تملكهم)from the root mulk means in the verse that the Qween was supervise , take care , and manage their affairs. it did not mean that they were slaves under the Qween . And the word Alyamin ( اليمين)comes in the Qur’an in the positive ways . Allah says ﴿وأصحاب اليمين ما أصحاب اليمين﴾ [Al-Wâqi'ah: 27 ﴿فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه فيقول هاؤم اقرءوا كتابيه﴾ [Al-Hâqqah: 19 In the language Malak (ملك) also means shepherd, Hafiz, and guardian . God put things under the hands of people so that they can behave well in them, and when a person dies, he does not take anything with him. the meaning of right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) is a person or a group of person under your supervision, care and management who treats them positively It could be your Muslim or non-Muslim wife, or your wives before you embraced Islam, or your children or the orphans , or your sister, or .....according to the subject of the verse. there are 14 verses regarding right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) and this is my understanding regarding each one of them: 1- (وإن خفتم ألا تقسطوا في اليتامى فانكحوا ما طاب لكم من النساء مثنى وثلاث ورباع فإن خفتم ألا تعدلوا فواحدة أو ما ملكت أيمانكم ذلك أدنى ألا تعولوا) النساء - الآية 3 than one woman or the ones with whom he was associated with a marriage contract before this verse was revealed .the (right hand possess ) comes in the past tense meaning there were men who were married more than four before this verse was revealed so they will keep them, or any man who enters Islam at the present time who is married to more than four (right hand possess ) came in the past 2- (إلا على أزواجهم أو ما ملكت أيمانهم فإنهم غير ملومين) المؤمنون - الآية 6 3- (إلا على أزواجهم أو ما ملكت أيمانهم فإنهم غير ملومين) المعارج - الآية 30 Except upon their Muslim wives or_ to whom he was married before converting to Islam , to whom before the verse of 4 wives as mentioned in the above first verse, to whom other than his faith. 36 Notice that the verse does not mention wives and children . God mentioned in this verse to take care of other but he did not mentioned your family the meaning of (وما ملكت أيمانكم ) = Those who fall under your will, your care and your supervision, for example: your wives, your children, and,......... 5- (والله فضل بعضكم على بعض في الرزق فما الذين فضلوا برادي رزقهم على ما ملكت أيمانهم فهم فيه سواء أفبنعمة الله يجحدون) النحل - الآية 71 the meaning of (وما ملكت أيمانكم ) = Those who fall under your will, your care and your supervision, for example: your wives, your children, orphans and,......... 6- 24-31 ﴿وَقُل لِلمُؤمِناتِ يَغضُضنَ مِن أَبصارِهِنَّ وَيَحفَظنَ فُروجَهُنَّ وَلا يُبدينَ زينَتَهُنَّ إِلّا ما ظَهَرَ مِنها وَليَضرِبنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلى جُيوبِهِنَّ وَلا يُبدينَ زينَتَهُنَّ إِلّا لِبُعولَتِهِنَّ أَو آبائِهِنَّ أَو آباءِ بُعولَتِهِنَّ أَو أَبنائِهِنَّ أَو أَبناءِ بُعولَتِهِنَّ أَو إِخوانِهِنَّ أَو بَني إِخوانِهِنَّ أَو بَني أَخَواتِهِنَّ أَو نِسائِهِنَّ أَو ما مَلَكَت أَيمانُهُنَّ أَوِ التّابِعينَ غَيرِ أُولِي الإِربَةِ مِنَ الرِّجالِ أَوِ الطِّفلِ الَّذينَ لَم يَظهَروا عَلى عَوراتِ النِّساءِ وَلا يَضرِبنَ بِأَرجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعلَمَ ما يُخفينَ مِن زينَتِهِنَّ وَتوبوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَميعًا أَيُّهَ المُؤمِنونَ لَعَلَّكُم تُفلِحونَ﴾ [An-Nûr: 31] and 7- (لا جناح عليهن في آبائهن ولا أبنائهن ولا إخوانهن ولا أبناء إخوانهن ولا أبناء أخواتهن ولا نسائهن ولا ما ملكت أيمانهن واتقين الله إن الله كان على كل شيء شهيدا) الأحزاب - الآية 55 the meaning of ما ملكت أيمانهن those who fall under their will, care and supervision, who have no desire, instinct and inclination for women. , for example: orphans children 8- (يا أيها الذين آمنوا ليستأذنكم الذين ملكت أيمانكم والذين لم يبلغوا الحلم منكم ثلاث مرات من قبل صلاة الفجر وحين تضعون ثيابكم من الظهيرة ومن بعد صلاة العشاء ثلاث عورات لكم ليس عليكم ولا عليهم جناح بعدهن طوافون عليكم بعضكم على بعض كذلك يبين الله لكم الآيات والله عليم حكيم) النور - الآية 58 the meaning of ملكت أيمانكم those who fall under their will, care and supervision, who have no desire, instinct and inclination for women. , for example: orphans children. you can see the ملكت أيمانكم in this verse compared/along with your children
part 2 What is the meaning of the right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) in the Holy Quran? 33 the verse is about marriage and مما مما ملكت أيمانكم means = those who fall under your will, care and supervision, for example: your daughters and orphans among the girls and your sisters, and... 11- (والمحصنات من النساء إلا ما ملكت أيمانكم كتاب الله عليكم وأحل لكم ما وراء ذلكم أن تبتغوا بأموالكم محصنين غير مسافحين فما استمتعتم به منهن فآتوهن أجورهن فريضة ولا جناح عليكم فيما تراضيتم به من بعد الفريضة إن الله كان عليما حكيما) النساء - الآية 24 (والمحصنات من النساء ) means it also forbidden the married woman including the wives of interlocutors/addressees in this verse . (إلا ما ملكت أيمانكم) it is pass tense Except the onse who fall under your married contract 12- (يا أيها النبي إنا أحللنا لك أزواجك اللاتي آتيت أجورهن وما ملكت يمينك مما أفاء الله عليك وبنات عمك وبنات عماتك وبنات خالك وبنات خالاتك اللاتي هاجرن معك وامرأة مؤمنة إن وهبت نفسها للنبي إن أراد النبي أن يستنكحها خالصة لك من دون المؤمنين قد علمنا ما فرضنا عليهم في أزواجهم وما ملكت أيمانهم لكيلا يكون عليك حرج وكان الله غفورا رحيما) الأحزاب - الآية 50 the meaning of وما ملكت يمينك the ones whom you made a legal marriage contract - but without paying a dowry - in the past 13- (لا يحل لك النساء من بعد ولا أن تبدل بهن من أزواج ولو أعجبك حسنهن إلا ما ملكت يمينك وكان الله على كل شيء رقيبا) الأحزاب - الآية 52 No longer permissible for you to women = prohibiting all women without exception, including his wives . (إلا ما ملكت يمينك) Except your right hand possess= to exclude his wives. 5 Try to connect the two verses The two verses on the issue of the marriage of a Muslim to right hand possess, and on second verse to whom given the book before . the two verses almost have similar . from the above two verses we understand the following: if you are not able to marry chaste Muslim women, then from among the female who works in the care and supervision of your communities and those who migrated from their countries to work and not live with their families or maybe from other faith you know their morals from Chaste women , With whom God Almighty has permitted a legal marriage contract - God Almighty permitted it for Muslims - in addition to Muslim women - women who gave the book before you, and God knows best
The word baghya " بغيا " and albigha " البغاء" in the Qur’an and according to religious heritage means prostitution and fornication but according to my understanding, and the evidence from the Qur’an means seek or ask something The linguistic root for the mentioned words is a bugha " بغى" that did not come in the Qur’an nor one time with the meaning of fornication and its derivatives, it came to bear the meanings of seek or ask something verse 19.20 الايه [قالت أنى يكون لي غلام ولم يمسسني بشر ولم أك بغيا] مريم 20 the vers [qalt 'anaa yakun li ghulam walam yamsasni bashar walam 'ak bghaya] maryam 20 The vers [she said how come I have a boy ( ghulam) , and no human has touched me ( yamsasni ) and I have not ask or seek for this. Mary 20 when she said [no human has touched me] this includes touching in a legal or illegal manner or assaulting her to result in pregnancy and when she said [ and I have not ask or seek for this] and I did not ask or seek for this pregnancy or the boy. Also see the consistency between the verses in the words of Mary and the words of God in response to the words of Mary ﴿قالت أنى يكون لي غلام ولم يمسسني بشر ولم أك بغياقال كذلك قال ربك هو علي هين ولنجعله آية للناس ورحمة منا وكان أمرا مقضيا﴾ [Maryam: 20-21] ﴿qaalat 'anaa yakun li ghulam walam yamsasni bashar walam 'ak bighya qal kdhlk qal rabuk hu ealaya hayin walinajealah ayatan lilnaas warahmatan minaa wakan 'amrana maqdia﴾ [Maryam: 20-21] The vers [she said how come I have a boy , and no human has touched me and I have not ask or seek for this. [Maryam: 20] said as well as Your Lord said this is easy upon me , and we will make him a sign for people and a mercy from us. And that was decided [Maryam: 21] when she said "how come I have a boy , and no human has touched me" The Lord Answered "this is easy upon me , and will make him a sign for people" also when she said "and I have not ask or seek for this" The Lord Answered "And that was decided" now you can see clearly the consistency between the verses I tried my best to translate from Arabic to English but I think and hope the picture is clear Also the word " البغاء "albigha in the next verse ,It does not mean fornication or prostitution, but rather means those ask or seek to marriage . According to my understanding Surat Al-Nur, verses 32 and 33, speaks about marriage, and to encourage , motivate and helping unmarried to get married but not forced them to get marriage for your own benefit this is my understanding there is on prostitution it is all about marriage ﴿وَأَنكِحُوا الأَيامى مِنكُم وَالصّالِحينَ مِن عِبادِكُم وَإِمائِكُم إِن يَكونوا فُقَراءَ يُغنِهِمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضلِهِ وَاللَّهُ واسِعٌ عَليمٌ﴾ [An-Nûr: 32] And marries ( urge upon marriage ) the unmarried among you and the righteous from your Eibad and your Emaa (male and female under your care and supervision ) . If they are poor, Allāh will enrich them from His bounty, and Allāh is all-Encompassing and Knowing. ﴿وَليَستَعفِفِ الَّذينَ لا يَجِدونَ نِكاحًا حَتّى يُغنِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضلِهِ وَالَّذينَ يَبتَغونَ الكِتابَ مِمّا مَلَكَت أَيمانُكُم فَكاتِبوهُم إِن عَلِمتُم فيهِم خَيرًا وَآتوهُم مِن مالِ اللَّهِ الَّذي آتاكُم وَلا تُكرِهوا فَتَياتِكُم عَلَى البِغاءِ إِن أَرَدنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِتَبتَغوا عَرَضَ الحَياةِ الدُّنيا وَمَن يُكرِههُنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مِن بَعدِ إِكراهِهِنَّ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ﴾ [An-Nûr: 33] walyastaefif ( abstain from sexual relations ) those who cannot find means for marrage until Allāh enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek keytab (marriage contract) from among whom your right hands possess ( right hands possess meaning those who under your care and supervision )then katibohm (than make marriage contract) with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allāh which He has given you ,but do not compel your girls If they wanted to be fortified ( meaning they don't want to marry those that came to make the marriage contract with her ) to seek for yourself temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone compel them ( Perhaps the girl does not want to marry because of his disability, fear, or .... in the girl herself, in this case, the guardian may force her to marry in the interest of the girl, not in the interest of the guardian. ), then ,Allāh after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful
Omg this is actually scary wallahi. I’m 19 and I suffer from severe cramps I’ve recently started taking the pill but my mum stopped as she told me it could affect my fertility in the future. Also morphine could affect fertility unfortunately I didn’t know and everytime the ambulance came they gave me morphine. But alhamdulilah always allah knows best I just hope that I can have kids in the future inshallah. May allah swt give shifts to anyone suffering❤️ ameen
I have extremely painful period ,do you think that it 's a signal from my body that something goes wrong ? I searched in internet i found that it's totally normal to have pain Ps: i have regular periods
Great video, you’re such an inspiration to me!!!! I’m new to your videos but I have been watching several of your videos to catch up!!!!!!! Great video! Keep releasing a lot of amazing videos, Mashallah!
Assalamu alaikum sister. I have a problem. When my period bleeding stops I do not see any white discharge but after some hours I see it. Should I pray after seeing white discharge or after bleeding stops?
Samantha, I was wondering when your on the birth control pill the last week pills are placebo pills that withdrawal bleeding occur. Is that menstruation period or do you have pray salah during the placebo withdrawal bleeding week?
I need to look on this, I been on pill many years 16 or 17 now I'm 32 now not married, main reason is heavy period pain and it could be gone for months or stay for 2 months, start taking it since that time it good not heavy less pain, but I only gain weight throw the years and I don't know if has something to do with it, I have no depression issues but I'm more happy mood when I'm on my period lol, I will read this book and stop taking the pill for months and back with updates, thank you
Can someone please let me know if withdrawal bleeding is like menstruation and or not? Can you pray when your have bleeding on birth control the last week?
Salam sis, hope youre doing well ♡ as you said in your previous video on how Muslim communities don't support each other enough, there's something I have on my chest I'd love to humbly share with you.. is there any way to talk to you privately? Many salams from a German-Turkish Muslim sister of yours ♡ XOXO
I had negative reactions with depo provera aka the shot. I got month long heavy heavy periods. I switched to an IUD which for me personally works well, especially because it helps with my endometriosis pain. I'm glad you spoke up about the pill, and shared your experience!
Please be aware that IUD is an abortifacient. Incase fertilization should occur (contraception is not 100% efficient) the IUD will not allow the implantation of the embryo. The new human being loses his life. Life starts at conception.
I stopped with the pill 1,5 year ago because I had side effects. This was my 3th pill and my 2nd pill gave me stomach problems (irritable bowl syndrom). I got the worst cramps, like someone was putting knives in me and it wouldn't stop. Only when I ate something and 5 min later I got the cramps back. So after months of suffering, I switched to an other pill and this one gave me tickles at my feet and I just couldn't use a bike because I couldn't give power. I began with the pill when I was 18 because I had no cycle (sometime I menstruate after 2 weeks and sometimes after 7, had pain 1 week before, 1 week after and my period was 7 to 14 days) and I had so much pain, was super angry the week before and when I menstruate and it wasn't normal. Al hamdulillah, the pain is coming back and the periods are now +- stable (30-35 day cycle) and I am not angry/have no anger problems and I am so happy with that. I also went to the gynecology and she said that I don't have a normal cycle because one ovary is a bit smaller. But it isn't a real problem, but that's the reason why I was super irrelugar with menstruation and that can come back. But I am really happy, everything is still better then first and it took my body something like a year to have a kind of regular cycle. In that year it went from 28 days up to 65(!!), but now it is 30-35. So girls, don't panic and if you aren't sure: just visit gyneacology, they have much knowledge :) Edit: now I bleed for 5-6 days, so that's also better.
@@RemtisVlogs no, it just became regular after a year (after the 65 days one, I was 30-35 days, so I just skipped one ovulation) I wanted to have it all natural so I didn't do anything. And it's normal that your cycle won't be regular just after you stopped. That's why my cycle went from 28 to 45 and then 65 and now for a few months 30-35. Last time it even was 29. But this is regular for me, for other woman it's still "irregular". My body just did this. So maybe it was puberty that caused my irregular cycle because my hormones weren't stable or something.
Thank you for making a video about this topic. I have experienced moodswings, anxiety and depression-like-symptoms while taking the pill. And all this time I thought it was my personality and not something caused by the pill. I also had physical issues during intercourse (pain), that I didn't have before the pill (I suspect this issue is caused by the pill and have also read about other experiencing it on the pill). This physical issue was never mentioned as a sideeffect and when I told doctors about the issue, they didn't suspect the pill. The issue was never fully fixed with doctor visits, but now I have taken matter into my own hands and I stopped being on the pill. I wonder if anyone else has had this issue/similar issue? And if the issue is gone after stopping on the pill? With this I want to say that: These issues is something important to be aware of on the pill. Because I thought it was my fault that these issues happened. These issues have also affected me and my partner's relationsship over the years, and I just wished that I had known about these issues (caused by the pill) a few years earlier. I am really happy about my decision on stopping with the pill now! I now feel more happy and secure in myself after stopping. I hope this video and by just talking more open about the pill, can help any woman out there who needs it.
I also have heavy periods and very painful cramps sometimes I faint. The doctor recommended the pill to me as the only option(ultrasound also showed an endometrial cyst). I’m deciding to treat myself naturally inshallah. Improve my diet and other things...
BigLexx TV I’ve been sticking to a specific diet. I’ve cut out all dairy (cow products). And red meat 🥩 both beef and mutton. Mostly eating vegetarian and occasionally I have chicken and fish. Just using olive oil or rice bran oil for cooking/eating. This diet has been helping me Alhamdulillah. If I do have pain, I’ve looked into pain relieving injections and I take ibuprofen. The other thing that’s helping is tracking my cycle properly because it helps me be aware of all the symptoms and all the factors that play a role throughout my cycle. I’m going to keep looking for more natural options but so far what I mentioned above has been a great help.
well, I'm only 4 minutes into the video and it sounds like you have PCOS. acne, painful periods, and irregular periods are red flags for PCOS. birth control can actually make you infertile if you already have irregular periods. going on birth control when you clearly have a hormonal condition can make it so when you come off of it your period will never return. it's literally quite scary actually. I have PCOS and endometriosis. and I was on it for 1 year. I got off of it because of the emotional side effects as well as the constant bleeding and I had a cyst rupture that was crazy painful. 7 years later my endometriosis is terrible, and I have had to have surgery and I have irregular periods. I am trying to heal it naturally with diet and lifestyle...I went paleo, I was vegetarian for a while. but after reading the book the PCOS plan I am going to try dairy-free keto. and hopefully, it will help. that being said if you are concerned about managing your fertility there are many many ways. there are fertility awareness methods ( this should be taught by an actual professional...like the justisse method or the Marquette Method) and then barrier methods like condoms and cervical films and cervical caps. I have used the justisse method for the 5 years I have been married and have never gotten pregnant.
I have a question. My period is regular in every month and its duration is 4 to 5 days. But on 2nd or 3rd day my period stops and I put a tissue and it comes clear. After some times again it comes back. Then I see brown color blood and it becomes lighter as time goes on. Is it normal? When should I start my prayer? I am confused and taking ghusl before every prayer and see my period comes back. Am I sinning?
I already left a similar comment to another sister, please girls don't come to YT comments for answers to your fatwa question, I know the struggle believe me but we need to look for answers in the right places where scholars answer you, I recommend visiting islamqa.info/en to find answers it's very helpful, all the best
Samanthaaa I 100% recommend you try out using the Sensiplan method which is also a type of natural non-hormonal birth control method. It is in Celsius and the manual is soooo informative. I bought in on Kobo. But it's also available on Reply OBGYN. It's arguably one of the most effective methods under the fertility awareness method umbrella. It is a sympto-thermal method which consists of keeping track of cervical mucus and basal body temperature every day to detect fertile and non-fertile phases in your cycle. It's amaaaazing to learn literally just for yourself and it really helps you understand and read your body's signals and become more aware with your cycles. Also join a facebook group called Fertility Awareness Method for Birth Control. I also suggest you check out FemmeHead's channel to learn more about how she transitioned from hormonal birth control (and literally stopping it for all the reasons you mentioned), to using the fertility awareness method. I highly highly recommend you give Sensiplan a shot! Suuuuper interesting read too
Thanks Samantha for this video...is it true that non married girls who wants to make Omrah has to take birth control pills..thanks again it was so informative.
@@befree9579 I'm not afraid. I just knew from the age of 14 that I didn't want kids. I'm 37 now and I still don't want kids. The hardest bit is that people don't accept it. They say you will change your mind etc
Well it would work pretty similarly & still puts hormones into your body. It should be researched just as much and you should come to an informed decision beforehand.
I'm seeking to learn about Islam, so I have a lot of questions! If a woman reverts to Islam, but has had kids out of wedlock, how does she ask for forgiveness for this and does it hurt her future chances of finding a Muslim husband? I have 2 sons, and even though their dad was the only man that I've been with in any way, we weren't married. We have been split up for a little over a year, and of course I've been celibate since our split and have not dated. Thanks for your advice!
Once you convert to Islam, all your previous sins are forgiven. You will be on a clean slate. If you can find a local mosque in your area visit there for advice.
My periods are heavy and really painful too:( And I also throw up:/ thank you for making this video! I've been doing a bit of research on this and getting different peoples opinions :)
I’m glad it was helpful for you!! May Allah swt make it better! I really recommend reading the book I suggested for this and speaking to your doctor about the reasons why your period may be heavy and painful rather than just taking the pill to stop it x
My wife took the pill in the first 2 months of our marriage even though I was against it. I noticed a big change in her character. Only after I told her that she stopped. But I think the changes became permanent.
Those changes aren't permanent, hormonal changes influence it, so the fluctuations are causing the mood swings. Not something she's conscious of, maybe the things you're calling 'permanent' were there from the beginning but you weren't paying enough attention?
Thank you! First time I've seen a video about this in the Muslim community. Everyone should know about the risks ✊🏼💚
Thank you for your comment!! Soooo important for people to know about!

I was on the pill and I stopped taking it recently because it messed with me so much, thank you for making a video on this topic and making others aware❤
Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to share your experience as well 💛
My period was very similar to yours it would even cause me to through up.
If you are experiencing severe pain then there’s a reason for it, so it’s better to find the reason & cure it than to mask it with a pill.. the book recommendation I shared covers more on this and what the pain could be
@@SamanthaJBoyle jazak allahu khair, my doctor told me that to get rid of the pains I would either have to take the pills or get pregnant 😂
I guess I'm lucky my periods only last for 2 days :) they've always been extremely short and light 😅
you must be extremely heavy when you are on right? i used to last for 2 or 3 days

Liked before watching cause I know my lovely sister will post something 👍
What’s your experience been like with the IUD?
There is also the option of a copper IUD that can be used for contraception rather than Mirena (which is hormonal)
It won't be suitable for all women and isn't used for the other purposes that contraceptive pills/injections can be used for but at least it doesn't have the same effects on fertility like the hormonal pills (fertility usually returns quickly once copper IUD is removed)
The iud is dangerous. It does not always prevent fertilization and when it fails to it will cause the forming baby to not implant in the uterus and therfore it has no chance of survival. Some people are ok with this. Personally I believe life begins at conception 🌻
I stopped taking the pill a month ago too. It was messing me up mood wise and my Mental health. What app would you recommend?
I started it for the same reasons, I am currently weaning off of it (yes, it’s a thing!) to avoid side effects (especially acne, I know it often gets baaad once you stop the pill!). I can’t wait to be off of it!
I can’t wait for you to get off it either 🙌🏽 hopefully it’s an easy transition!
Alsalam Alikum sister Sam 🐝💕 May Allah grant you and everyone health with body and faith 🤍
WalaykumAsalam sis! Ameen & you too!
🥺🥺🥺 thank you for sharing your experience
Say سبحان الله وبحمده when have anxiety.. try it
I just saw this video and I relate so much to every single side effect you have mentioned. When I was on the pill I got all the mentioned side effects. As well as not being able to eat anything without being sick and being unwell every single day. It was horrible.
SubhanAllah 😭 it’s horrible
Thanks alot I'm a mum to six kids and recently started taking the pill but I stopped due to bleeding nearly every 10 days so annoying it's hard what to I use I am happy with six kids and not trying for any more kids any advice I'm currently breastfeeding and I don't want to use any birth control but don't want to get pregnant 🤦♀️
I also stopped taking it. Since then my mental health bettered and my periods did barely change.
Alhumdulilah 🙌🏽
Salams Sam, thank you for doing a video like this legit i was talking to a friend of mine about getting off the pill and HERE comes Sam reading my thoughts again. What app would you reccomend/have tried for period tracking?
WalaykumAsalam!! Lolll 😂🤣 I use an app called “period diary cycle tracker” but I’ve heard that the app “clue” is also really good!

I have used the pill too in the past and stopped it because of increased anxiety and depression. I have tried many different brands and hormones. What is the meaning of the right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) in the Holy Quran?
I tried my best to translate from Arabic to English I hope it will be understood.
Clarifications what was stated in heritage books that the right hand possess are prisoners of war and what the legacies called captives from war, is something that is not mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, as there is no relationship between the right hand possess and the prisoners of war. As for what is stated about the prisoners of war in the Qur’an text are two things :
-to be released without compensation.
-Acceptance of a ransom in exchange for the prisoners' release.
if this is on the prisoners of war who are fight you what about theirs wife and children .
the Lord did not order to keep prisoners of war or slave them in the Quran , and this is clearly mantioned in this following Quranic verse
The malik alyamin is consist of two words
What does Mulk mean
see the next verse
﴿فمكث غير بعيد فقال أحطت بما لم تحط به وجئتك من سبإ بنبإ يقينإني وجدت امرأة تملكهم وأوتيت من كل شيء ولها عرش عظيم﴾
[An-Naml: 22-23]
Tamlkhm (تملكهم)from the root mulk means in the verse that the Qween was supervise , take care , and manage their affairs. it did not mean that they were slaves under the Qween .
And the word Alyamin ( اليمين)comes in the Qur’an in the positive ways .
Allah says
﴿وأصحاب اليمين ما أصحاب اليمين﴾
[Al-Wâqi'ah: 27
﴿فأما من أوتي كتابه بيمينه فيقول هاؤم اقرءوا كتابيه﴾
[Al-Hâqqah: 19
In the language Malak (ملك) also means shepherd, Hafiz, and guardian .
God put things under the hands of people so that they can behave well in them, and when a person dies, he does not take anything with him.
the meaning of right hand possess (Mulk Alyamin ) is a person or a group of person under your supervision, care and management who treats them positively It could be your Muslim or non-Muslim wife, or your wives before you embraced Islam, or your children or the orphans , or your sister, or .....according to the subject of the verse.

than one woman or the ones with whom he was associated with a marriage contract before this verse was revealed .the (right hand possess ) comes in the past tense meaning there were men who were married more than four before this verse was revealed so they will keep them, or any man who enters Islam at the present time who is married to more than four (right hand possess ) came in the past

مقضيا﴾
[Maryam: 20-21]
﴿qaalat 'anaa yakun li ghulam walam yamsasni bashar walam 'ak bighya
qal kdhlk qal rabuk hu ealaya hayin walinajealah ayatan lilnaas warahmatan minaa wakan 'amrana maqdia﴾ [Maryam: 20-21]
The vers [she said how come I have a boy , and no human has touched me and I have not ask or seek for this. [Maryam: 20]
said as well as Your Lord said
this is easy upon me , and we will make him a sign for people and a mercy from us. And that was decided
[Maryam: 21]
when she said
"how come I have a boy , and no human has touched me"
The Lord Answered
"this is easy upon me , and will make him a sign for people"
also when she said
"and I have not ask or seek for this"
The Lord Answered
"And that was decided"
now you can see clearly the consistency between the verses
I tried my best to translate from Arabic to English but I think and hope the picture is clear
Also the word " البغاء "albigha in the next verse ,It does not mean fornication or prostitution, but rather means those ask or seek to marriage .
According to my understanding Surat Al-Nur, verses 32 and 33, speaks about marriage, and to encourage , motivate and helping unmarried to get married but not forced them to get marriage for your own benefit
this is my understanding there is on prostitution it is all about marriage
And marries ( urge upon marriage ) the unmarried among you and the righteous from your Eibad and your Emaa (male and female under your care and supervision ) . If they are poor, Allāh will enrich them from His bounty, and Allāh is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
walyastaefif ( abstain from sexual relations ) those who cannot find means for marrage until Allāh enriches them from His bounty.
I searched in internet i found that it's totally normal to have pain
Ps: i have regular periods
Great video, you’re such an inspiration to me!!!! I’m new to your videos but I have been watching several of your videos to catch up!!!!!!! Great video! Keep releasing a lot of amazing videos, Mashallah!

Hi where are you from?
Please someone tell me if withdrawal bleeding that comes birth control pill the last week is considered menstruation and do you have to pray ?
Assalamu alaikum sister. I have a problem. When my period bleeding stops I do not see any white discharge but after some hours I see it. Should I pray after seeing white discharge or after bleeding stops?
After making sure the bleeding stops.
Samantha, I was wondering when your on the birth control pill the last week pills are placebo pills that withdrawal bleeding occur. Is that menstruation period or do you have pray salah during the placebo withdrawal bleeding week?
I need to look on this, I been on pill many years 16 or 17 now I'm 32 now not married, main reason is heavy period pain and it could be gone for months or stay for 2 months, start taking it since that time it good not heavy less pain, but I only gain weight throw the years and I don't know if has something to do with it, I have no depression issues but I'm more happy mood when I'm on my period lol, I will read this book and stop taking the pill for months and back with updates, thank you
Let us know how you go and what you think of the book! It would be helpful to hear!!
@@SamanthaJBoyle I will insha Allah and I just order the book on Amazon and I will be taking notes insha Allah
That’s horrible 🥺😭
So girls, don't panic and if you aren't sure: just visit gyneacology, they have much knowledge :)
Edit: now I bleed for 5-6 days, so that's also better.
Alhumdulilah! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!! I’m sure it will benefit so many people as well!
Alhamdulilah. Sis did you do anything to make it regular?
@@RemtisVlogs no, it just became regular after a year (after the 65 days one, I was 30-35 days, so I just skipped one ovulation) I wanted to have it all natural so I didn't do anything.
And it's normal that your cycle won't be regular just after you stopped. That's why my cycle went from 28 to 45 and then 65 and now for a few months 30-35. Last time it even was 29. But this is regular for me, for other woman it's still "irregular". My body just did this. So maybe it was puberty that caused my irregular cycle because my hormones weren't stable or something.
@@RemtisVlogs And ofcourse, now it isn't regular! I'm at day 37, so I guess it will never be regular.
Semangat kaka bikin video👍
Please Samantha, I was wondering the withdrawal bleeding during birth control is actual menstruation or no?
Thank you for sharing your experience!!!
there was something about this in the book "sweetening the pill" (immune system declines and physical changes)
@@katiechasm Okay :o Thank you :) I will take a look at that sometime soon :)
I am yet to have a positive experience with birth control.

Why have stopped making vedios
I also have heavy periods and very painful cramps sometimes I faint. The doctor recommended the pill to me as the only option(ultrasound also showed an endometrial cyst). I’m deciding to treat myself naturally inshallah. Improve my diet and other things...
May Allah makes so easy on you
It's very painful
May Allah swt make it easy for you my love 🤍
Samantha J Boyle thank you ❤️
what worked for u? and has it been helpinh
Thanks for the concern but I definitely don’t have PCOS, thankfully. I appreciate all of the tips though!
Have y’all seen Lucie Fink’s video on this topic? She brings up some good points too & interviewed the author of the book mentioned .
Assalaam Alaikum my lovely sis. Love you 😘😘😘
WalaykumAsalam sis 😅😍😍😍
Suuuuper interesting read too
Sounds so interesting!!! I’ll definitely look into it more! Thank you for the recommendation xx
Thanks Samantha for this video...is it true that non married girls who wants to make Omrah has to take birth control pills..thanks again it was so informative.
No sis that’s not true, it’s your decision at the end of the day
Where do you get your khimar? It looks so comfortable here, I'd love to try one

Oh, and I want to add that the "Maybe Baby" tool/device is absolutely worth 100 times the cost!
Definitely something interesting that I’ll look into!
Has to many horrible side effects

What can one do if they never want kids?
You will have kids if Allah wills. If your'e a muslim, it's recommended to have kids.
@@befree9579 yes its recommended to have kids, but if its not for you then you shouldn't.
@@Hanfahhussain What part of having kids you afraid of? I know for some it's the finances. But it's hard to find a partner who thinks a like.
@@befree9579 I'm not afraid. I just knew from the age of 14 that I didn't want kids. I'm 37 now and I still don't want kids. The hardest bit is that people don't accept it. They say you will change your mind etc
If its not for me then it's not for me regardless if as a muslim it's recommended we have them

Gassim ind'Allah, birth control ? Is it islamique ? Allah is the best of provider. What's this nonsense ?
Thank you for this !!!!
assalam alaikom sis are you allergic to them?
WalaykumAsalam sis no this is not an allergic reaction, it’s very common
what about the jab??
Well it would work pretty similarly & still puts hormones into your body. It should be researched just as much and you should come to an informed decision beforehand.
I love your content sis! much love!!
Thank you sis!!
Third comment 😁😁😁
Thank you for commenting sis!!!
My periods are heavy and really painful too:(
And I also throw up:/
thank you for making this video!
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16
ur vids are the best:)
Remember that taraweeh story time you did? You said as you were praying you past out. Was this the cause of the birth control?
No thats due to a medical condition I have!
Wear niqab sister
Is this an order?
maybe you should learn how to give a proper and islamic nasiha before you try to order people around.
It isn't an order .M just telling her like a sister.Don't u know we have no right to compel or command .
@@anonymousshahana9134 you sound brainwashed!
@@saraleena007 Whats wrong with u dear?My comment was not 4 u it was 4 her n she seems to be quiet.
are you married ?
yes she is
My wife took the pill in the first 2 months of our marriage even though I was against it. I noticed a big change in her character. Only after I told her that she stopped. But I think the changes became permanent.
What is she like now?
Those changes aren't permanent, hormonal changes influence it, so the fluctuations are causing the mood swings. Not something she's conscious of, maybe the things you're calling 'permanent' were there from the beginning but you weren't paying enough attention?
Its her body its her choice, i’m glad you didn’t push your views on her.
