  • The legendary Canadian dramatic tenor JON VICKERS (1926-2015) spoke in Houston in 1980 about his great roles of Otello and Peter Grimes, his foray into comedy with Vašek in The Bartered Bride, and the one role he wanted to do -- but couldn't.

    I always dreamed that someday I'd have the opportunity to meet this wonderful man, and spend a day in far-ranging conversation with him -- about art, music, singing, farming, Saskatchewan, God and the Universe and the human spirit. Maybe in another life.

    This interviewer was very intimidated! I can definitely see how Jon Vickers can be such a powerful force in not only his singing/characters but with his interviews.
