Payback's drifting felt great whether you had a slow car or a fast one
I love the arcady style drift in payback, but i also loved the drift mechanics of heat if only it can drift longer

I’m gonna be honest when it comes the hayduece mod I doubt the devs used this as building blocks for whatever the handling may or may not change to be like mainly because there is only one handling designer and they have said that trying to get each car handle like the Audis and most likely that drift mod is already hard enough we will have to wait and see on this one
The drifting footage looks amazing, smooth, controlled and fun. I would love to have handling like that on NFS without using mods.
Payback has the best drift handling in the last recent NFS games. So much fun!

The problem is we as normal people want ro crank up normal cars like underground had it.. now its so much "dream cars" it doesnt feel underground. A mustang is nice for some people but i always hated it for nfs games xD

If they just make the drifting how it was in Payback I'd very happy. I think they got it just about perfect (within the limitations of the Ghost era platform) and they shouldn't have messed with it, because we all know how rough drifting was in Heat.
I hope it’s closer to sim than arcade tbh. Having a more difficult learning curve means more time spent playing the game; more time spent testing different power ratios etc. Might be a controversial take, but I liked The Crew 2’s drift physics a lot. To me it’s the perfect balance between sim and arcade drifting.
For me, NFS Drift physics always had to be Forza-level, but The Crew-level Full gameplay

Seeing the drifting at 2:55 is hilarious because I feel like this is how those drift challenges/asap rocky events should really be, whereas in reality you're just slingshotting all over the place with Unbounds signature drift mechanics haha. This is precisely why we need better drift physics, NFS makes literal drift modes and then uses the most horrendous drift mechanics known to man which is not efficient at all. That drifting looks 100x better.
I hope when dirfting will be able to hold a slide for a long time, transition and hopfully reverse entries. Now Ik I'm asking for a lot but if I can do thise 3 things I would be happy. I'm also glad we're getting a new mustang but I hope we get new lowend car as well
Thought they said the new handling from vol6 will continue on later volumes and any new car added will have those audi handling not the existing the cars

I’m stoked. I spend most my time threading some insane drift lines in free roam so new drift anything will be sick. I play on series X so I can’t get drift mod. So makes it even better to hear drift handling updates. Heat was even better for drifting options. Not tracks and points.
2 things that woul make really interested in Unbound, proper drift and a descent livery editor. Good to know at least one of these may be coming

Definitely going back to Unbound to run 7 or 8 cars in a drift train in freeroam with friends. Only question is are the meta drift cars going to be the same.

@@TheFurryMemelord Honestly if the devs copied the coding for say the Unite mod then hopefully we'll get drivetrain swaps, but I doubt it. At least give us more reasons to use rear wheel drive cars instead of the 4 wheel drive STI. As the Subaru handled like the Evo9 from Heat when drifting. I'd like to set the classic favourite drift cars like the Silvia, RX7, Miata and Fairlady become the preferred choice. It'll fit the Underground theme of Vol7 update. Also since we're getting a Mustang it might be a new favourite as weight might make some cars drift smoother.

Even though I KNOW that grip builds are the current meta, my main car is the RX-7 and there is nothing that I can do make it a full grip car, so I still go heavy drift w/ manual gears. It slaps. So yes, I am very excited to jump back in to experience the drift changes.

@@TheElderWerelionwolf the lane switching system threw me against an oncoming truck in real life so I can't say, I passed away.
My only issue with drifting is the counter steering. I think I'm just use to seeing the wheels facing the other way while drifiting.... 4:18 is the perfect example of what I mean.

While devs can look at some mods and take inspiration, they can't legally copy and paste the same code from a mod without giving credit or compensation, unless their EULA specifies so. But for legal and more important overall image and fan perception, they'll not gonna take a mod and slapped in to the game, they'll do their own thing from scratch.
In most of these mods, there is no "code". The modding tools modify assets that are already in the game. But even if they did copy the code that i use in some of the drift mod files, they wouldnt get into any legal trouble. The code implements stuff that can be found in any physics book, it would be impossible to prove they stole it, because there arent many ways to code a physics equation.
@@hayeduce I pray NFS devs will wise up and use similar physics to your mod in the next Unbound update. I won't get my hopes up because I know how EA games are nowadays, but I can only hope. Also, thank you for such a great mod.

We need more old-school cars and new rims and boost gauges and the heat needs to stay on your car in to you are busted by the police it keeps you on edge when you come out the garage knowing that the cops are out there looking for you
If the reason for not apply the audi handling at the rest of roasters is there is only one guy working on the handling, why we hope that there will be a new drift handling on all cars for drifting mode?

5:42 here's the thing. Tandems at this level is only possible when the physics are somewhat realistic. One must understand how a car works, you only need to learn it once and u can apply to all games that are on the realistic side, so here's my tip for the beginners who try the mod:
1. SHIFT UP, and keep your foot on the damn throttle. You need this to keep the car sideways, and you need power, at least 800hp to be comfortable.
2. The drift mod for unbound is buggy, please make sure that everything is set up correctly, using frosty is not enough, there are 2 files that also need to be copied into the game folder.
3. Use max self-steer in live tuning. NO, THIS IS NOT CHEATING. Real steering also works like that, you dont have to manually countersteer, you just let the wheel go and make small corrections.

Problem in unbound is the steering wheel. I keep trying to enjoy that game but everytime i try with my steering wheel (im on ps5 no possible mod for me) i just turn it of after 5 minutes...

Tbh its not the drifting.. i just need a new handling.. the audi handling is still weird and sometimes steer by itself or gets so unstable you end up crashing.. the physic seems to be to bad for the handling model at the moment. Unite mod was such a punch in the face for nfs again.. im a little bit mad the devs can not adapt to this or hire these people.
If nfs fixes the drifting unbound would be the only game I play

even in this footage you can tell the car is tied to something I can't put my finger on it but there's something odd about the mechanics behind the physics. You can tell you're limited to what the car does to a certain degree especially when you trying to initiate a drift or coming out of a drift it's weird. They should remove the nos effect that gives you a change of direction... that thing is the most stupid thing.

They are planning on doing this, if you ever tried the new Audis... Problem is there is only one developer that is working with the handling and he's trying to implement the new handling to every. single. car.

Personally, ill log back on for the mustang, try the new handling, then realize i have to do things i dont want to do for mustang. Realize cops are pointless and might as well play sweatfest, then realize they killed the crew 1. Then I'll go back to heat, that I've been really enjoying for the past 3 months. Hopefully hot pursuit update can bring cops alive in some form.
need for speed is losing in the avenue of simulator compatibility. carx is dope, but if NFS could outdo carX in physics and controls it would be the meta game
