I was paying the electricity bill from age 16 ...I do feel a conversation shouldto be had ...I dislike when parents are like "It's my house, my this my that...comes across so bitter ...parents should show more love and say this is our house and I expect you to contribute so we can progress as a FAMILY
My mum (who always boasted about money and bonus pay) wanted rent from me when I was 17 and on £254 per month working 2 days a week sharing a room with my sister who didn’t have to pay anything. I got kicked out after I refused and have paid big rent ever since. My mum turns 50 in February and keeps hinting that she wants a holiday but unfortunately that won’t be happening, I’ve never had a chance to save. I honestly think if my mum has made more maternal decisions life would be completely different and she’d be going on that holiday, I’d have a mortgage etc. I won’t be charging my future children rent and will do the best that I can to help them with their future. I bought them into the world after all.
I had a cleaning job and a job at an indoor market at 15 and would give my mum £10. She would give it back but I'd sneak it in her purse for her to have.
Your mum should have the realisation of how lucky she is that you still deal with her at all. £254 a month at 17 on a 2 day a week job? That is WRONG and sounds like greed to me, that price was excessive and your siblings paid nothing? Nah, some Blk parents really take the piss. NGL, this sounds like a Caribbean parent but I could be wrong. I've had similar experiences of lack of support and financial expectation on one side of my own Caribbean family, and my cousin's experienced it too. It seems like the luck of the draw as I know not all are like this but it does seem to be common.
Some cultures you really stay at home paying nothing till you get married. The contribution or trade off is to listen to certain things parents say. Cant speak for everyone but finance is also discussed so you are in good position when you and help take care when parents are old.
I think it’s the fact that “gatekeeping” seems to be her new favourite term. She spoke DJs gatekeeping that trend where they mix Amapiano/Afrobeats with other sounds. She brought it up specifically when there was a Whyte female DJ who hopped on the trend. I believe this is why people jumped on her is because it seems like she just heard of the term gatekeeping and wants to use it at every opportunity possible.
Black women need to stop playing victim. They have slagged off black men and endorsed books, songs, films and social media and it is accepted. If you are going to call out one then call out the other. I agree what this guy did was wrong but you've been foul for far too long.
Why did she mention she has depression? So people can feel sorry for her. That's what women do.She knows that he is a podcaster , so she knows that her baby will be online
Big love! Yall are dope af ❤🇬🇧🇬🇭
I didn't know who this ghana brother was before now but what an impressive guest.
M.anifest is The God MC. Top 2 Best rapper from Africa. His pen game is sick.
Asking kids you put on earth to pay, is like asking someone out on a date and expecting them to pay

Said future children cannot live rent free if they’re not saving though 😅

How are going to save for a place on 22k? Children can contribute by cleaning, cooking and building for their future.

Halle didnt have an issue with the baby being on the stream she had issue with him not mentioning it
She should have told him in private.
It's his child too
The rudeness was unnecessary towards mimi although the gatekeeping comment for DJ AG a community DJ was unwarranted.
