Salut,

I love this. Chef Luciano you can tell is 100% grateful for Alex and vice versa. This only works if both parties have the utmost respect for each other. Heck, I want to visit that restaurant too!
me too! i'd be there already if it wasn't for the small matter of flying to Italy
I went in February because of Alex' videos, and I can really recommend it! Also get the tiramisu while you're at it. You will not be dissapointed!
This is some good in the world. Someone trying to get better. Someone being vulnerable to learn. And then another person with knowledge, happy to share, and them both benefitting. I love it
When I fly to Italy 100% will go to that restaurant
@@samuelkobe so true...well said
When an influencer who doesn't consider himself an influencer and never throws his weight around like an influencer discovers his content influences others and makes an impact on someone in a positive way. Priceless. Kudos Alex. Keep sharing!
That warms my heart so much ❤️❤️ This happens when you do everything by heart ❤️❤️
Chef Sanjyot Keer! Wasn't expecting to see you here.
Nah bro I'm tripping balls really wasn't hoping you here love your recipes
Wow u watch Alex's videos good
🙏 my friend
Alex, I am from Rome, and I have passed by Luciano many times, but I've never actually went there. Because of you, I'll pay a visit :)
Please share with us when you do. OK?
I visited Rome last week and would have never found out about Luciano's restaurant had it not been for your video. It was definitely one of the best meals I've eaten in Rome and even Italy. Videos like these are a win-win-win for everyone.
I'm going to Rome next year, just to eat at Luciano's....
Not a win-win-win-win? 😂
@@faithful451 dont be that guy
@@faithful451 Actually, yes,
one win is alext
he second one Luciano
the third one is the tourist going to Luciano's restaurant
and the 4th win is me, the guy making this epic carbonara at home.
Good for you! Thank you for going (from those of us who can't) and thank you, too, for sharing with the rest of us that you went and it was awesome.
The part about wishing to have dinner with you and your family was as heartwarming as anything can be! Chef Luciano, what a fantastic person.
Also as Italian as possible. Family, friends, food. I'm a German-American and I love it!
it's preety standard for Italians to have lunch and dinner at friends' houses, Brazil has some of this too
I quite agree.
So, basically, this is Alex finally realizing that he is a "INFLUENCER" … Love your work… here since the early days. Your cookbook is staring at me from my bookshelf! BTW, you brought a power drill into my notion of creative cooking… and let us not forget the laser thermometer I have in my kitchen since watching your videos.
No, he's not.
@@bodychoke Intentional or not, Alex drove sales of that Cabonara.
Yes, only big difference is that Alex actually gets people there not to be just like the influencer but to be inspired to experience the craft, the food, of these chefs.
@@bodychoke Of course he is. He is just selective when promoting quality while staying true to a formular. People listen to Alex. Their opinions are influenced by him. So is their behavior. How is he not?
@@bodychoke I think the quotes he used are important, people who call themselves influencers aren't, they are salespeople. Alex influences because people understand he puts in the hard work to ACTUALLY understand what is occurring on a scientific level and that he seeks advice from real actual experts and doesn't just read off a marketing sheet. Experts and quality attract the right sort of people, while social media influencers are something else entirely. TLDR Alex influences us but he isn't an "influencer" in the best way possible keep it up :)
After seeing the original video with chef Luciano, we decided we must go and try the carbonara. We traveled from Romania to Rome just to taste it, and, of course, we were not disappointed. Thank you, Alex, and keep up the good work.
I am also from Romania and looking forward to visit Luciano's next time I'll visit Rome. Oh, and also Franco Pepe's pizza restaurant is on the list too. :)
Getting a compliment at all from an Italian about your carbonara is already a life milestone achievement (even and especially among Italians ourselves!), but this message was next level. To be cherished even more than a Michelin Star :)
I was in Rome in april and visited Lucianos restaurant because of your video. Thank you for sharing great food experiences with the world Alex, and thank you Luciano for being an all around top man and amazing chef. All the best ❤️
From the rest of us who aren't able to go, Thank you for going and for sharing with us!
Coincidentally, I'm going to Rome in July and the very first place on my list of restaurants to visit is of course Luciano's. And that is 100% because of your video with him. Cheers from Sweden 🤙
Did you ever check out his Swedish Meatballs video?
@@Bladedcloud6159 Yep, that's a good one!
Good for you!
Luciano seems to be a top gent as well as a great chef!
He really is. We flew from Romania to Rome 2 weeks ago just to eat at his restaurant, and it was a trip worth making. And chef Luciano, even though he's a Michelin star chef, he works side by side with everyone, he's at the front taking reservations and tending to customers, he's bringing food to the table, etc. His restaurant is a must see.
I was in Rome for the first time two weeks ago and went to Luciano with a dear friend because of YOU and had an exceptional experience. I love seeing how you merge your passion for food with your passion for science. You go beyond taste and pleasure and ask the immortal questions, "Why?" and "How?" I send you so much respect and gratitude for you and your work - and yes - I've used only Monograno for a few years -: tasting the pasta changed my life... "THIS is pasta..!"
From the rest of us who can't go, thank you for going and for sharing with us that you went.
I mean makes sense, your execution was excellent and I’m Roman and personally didn’t know the restaurant so if I didn’t know about it I’m sure that you brought a lot a lot of customers.
Dudes a legend. Glad people are flocking to his restaurant since he’s being an awesome guy sharing a lot of his recipe/technique.
I totally felt Luciano's sincerity to my core. I wasn't expecting to feel such emotions this early in the day. Thank you Alex!
Doing something good?? Yeah mate you certainly are! Thanks for all the amazing content from New Zealand
thanks for your content too ;)
sounds like we need a carbonara whiskey
@@insederec hahaha oh god, that's weird even for me 🤣🤣
@@StillIt ANYTHING with bacon in it is good.
It's all about the research Alex. You are like a food detective, trying to find the facts, searching through history. Don't let people tell you you are an influencer, what you are doing is far more important. Merci beaucoup!
Why not both? You can be a shallow "influencer" who is basically shilling for undeclared advertising to whichever company decides to pay for the amount of followers you have, or you can be an honest self-proclaimed self-taught cook with an inquisitive mind and scientific approach, and influence too.
Alex is of the second type. I know I've put a visit to Pepe In Grani on my own Bucket List as a direct result of Alex's videos.
What a spontaneous outcome. Chef Luciano giving positive feedback to your carbonara means you've done something great. It was really comforting knowing your viewers helped boost his business. Keep up the good work Alex.
That warms my heart so much. So wholesome. Never doubt your ability to cook, and most importantly your ability to learn and adapt.
I was in Rome two weeks ago and I specifically cut out a day to go to Luciano's restaurant to try the carbonara based on your video. I even got to say hi to chef Luciano and told him I had to come because I saw your video. The carbonara was unbelievable!
These videos are great publicity for Luciano, for his restaurant and his authentic Roman dishes.
Thank you for that from those of us who can't go but would love to!
What I love most about this is that it's not "endorsement first" like when it's planned, but it's "passion first", the passion for the food, the tradition and the origins. Great job Alex. Also props to Luciano for the warmth that speaks out of his words.
This is that moment when you put so much effort into something, whether it be school, sports, or cooking, and the master respects your work. There is no better feeling.
The world needs more of this... The joy of a shared passion plus an openness to collaborate leading to mutual benefit, gratitude, humility and meaningful connection. Well done, Alex.
I went to the restaurant because of your video's and would recommend it to everyone
T’es trop fort Alex ! Tellement humble et sincère. Quel plaisir de vivre ça en direct avec toi!
I'm serious here mate, I cried hearing that message, because Chef Luciano's reaction pretty much represented everything that I care about. Listening to feedback, working hard, and those efforts paying off and bringing more benefit to everybody involved. That is something that is very special, and I hope that everybody can have those moments in their life, and I can tell you feel the same way
From one engineer to another mate... Hats off, you did well
Glad to see Alex realise that he's an influencer that can actually have a positive impact on peoples lives and also get heavily complimented by the leading expert in carbonara and get asked to have a dinner at the same time. Good job Alex you should be very proud of yourself and everything you have acomplished with your channel and also with nurturing such a good community and helping people (like me) get more invested in cooking.
What's so touching to me is how much you feel what you do. You really feel it, get emotional, and that radiates through the screen. I LOVE your pasta series because it helped love and appreciate pasta so much more than I already did.
Quelle classe Alex !! Continue ton travail, tu mérites largement les compliments du chef
Dude, taking us on your journey, driven by your curiosity, is such a great pleasure to watch. You have shown the true art that is hidden behind the “simplicity” of a Carbonara. Grazie, Alex!
Yes, you are doing something good. Really good. I live in Rome but I went to Luciano's for the first time thanks to you. It was meraviglioso. So, what's more to be said? Grazie Alex!
Here I am! A Roman who didn’t know Luciano’s restaurant even though I walked by it 100 times. Thanks to you I finally stopped and ate a great meal there. The power of social media and great, passionate people!
I'm really happy for you and for all the great outcomes of this series. Very well deserved recognition for your amazing job!
I made a reservation at luciano's restaurant thanks tou your vid a few months back! Much love
I've been here watching your journey with food for years, and seeing your love for it, and also witnessing the love grow and expand.
We all love what you do Alex, and I hope you know for all the cooks and chefs out there that we truly appreciate you. ❤️
I'm actually one of the people who decided to go to his restaurant because of you! Definitely had to go after seeing your first video. It was even closed the first time I went, so I went another time 2 months later, and it was soo worth it 😄 Now trying to master this dish at home..
A video doesn't get more wholesome than this. Great work Alex, your content is unique and your drive for perfection is inspiring to all of us!
Just made sure a friend booked Luciano’s when in Rome in July!
I actually knew about him through Italia Squisita before this series, and will visit when in Rome!
Have to say that this series really has opened up my eyes for dry pasta, much appreciated! Really like your content! 🙏
I've never seen Alex so stunned about anything...and it's so kind to share that emotions with us. I appreciate so much your work because it's not an ordinary web content about cooking...but you have "the gift". You feel and you make me feel such a big emotion about cooking as you could be Italian at least 😃😃 That's wonderful, it truly is. Salut Alex 😉
When a chef asks you for dinner is probably a completely different thing then when someone else asks.
Alex, you're the only influencer that influenced me not only to make my own croissants at home but also to buy something (4 boxes of the Monograno pasta to be exact). I just trust your judgment and love your passion for good food. Thank you!
I also bought a bunch of Monograno pasta because of his video's.
I'm visiting an Eataly this weekend to try and buy some monograno pasta!
I almost shed a tear of emotion, even though i'm not involved, i can only imagine how it feels to recieve such a compliment (une éloge même!!) by a master of his art. I love your channel Alex, you have such a good spirit and soul when it comes to your passion (that is also mine), you go above and beyond, you deserve every word Chef Luciano said to you!!
This makes me shed a tear of joy for you both--your efforts and his appreciation. Beautiful.
We’re so proud of you, Alex!
I live how passionate both of them are about what they love, how open and willing you both are to share your experience, knowledge and tricks. You make me want to do better in all things too.
That's kind of the greatest compliment you could ever have about your carbonara. Congrats Alex and keep up the good work!
Alex, your hard work shows in your videos. It's on reason why we watch and support you, and by extension, support those you learn from.
I think i am smiling nearly as much as you are, why am i so proud?! But i am, so congratulations Alex! (i have even shared your video's with my mother, and that is a first..at 25!)
What a pure interaction. I love your videos, Alex, and I appreciate your tenacity. Congratulations on your success and I look forward to seeing more videos in the future. Cheers!
Alex, you are super! I was in Pepe in grani one month ago because you, your videos and your passion. I hope I could be in Luciano’s restaurant soon.
Thank you for all.
You deserve these complements, your work as a chef as well as a filmmaker is incredible. You are able to communicate food better than any other UA-camr and I am always excited when you make a new video. Your passion is contagious and it shows.
Alex, you make these videos with such dedication and such love, and you deserve every good thing and all the praise that comes to you!
I visited Luciano‘s Restaurant when I was on vacation in Rome this year just because of you! It‘s been amazing! I trust in every recommendations of yours.
This is so sweet, I can only imagine how amazing it must be to hear all that from him
Congratulations Alex. That is a HUGE compliment! Keep going. Love your obsession with the processes to make great food.
Goosebumps! That moment of silence almost had me in tears, just shows the love
This is the wholesome content we all needed today. ❤️
So first off, I respect everything you do for the food industry and specifically the science associated with every dish. I am mechanical engineer I have been for roughly 10 years.I have been following you roughly a year and a half and the engineering you do draws not only new people to STEM but also to the joy of working and breaking things down even in just the chemistry of a simple sauce. But I will say as much as I want to see you on TV sharing with even more people I love your platform and keep pushing because I/we will keep supporting. Cheers
Great job, Alex! I love your energy and positivity. You do a great job of explaining how things work together to create great dishes. You do so much to make creation of these wonderful foods accessible to us. Keep up the good work!
I was in Luciano’s restaurant on Sunday! I took my family (my wife and I live in London and my parents traveled from South Africa) to experience the legendary Carbonara and we all had a great time! My family has been eating and making Carbonara for as long as I can remember - following a recipe my father learnt at University from a chef from Genoa - we all gave Luciano’s Carbonara full marks. A truly special dish. We also enjoyed the other dishes on Luciano’s menu and tried some excellent local wine. Luciano has a great team and we were well looked after. Thank you Alex for introducing us to Luciano’s restaurant and thank you Luciano for a great night out in Rome and a delicious Carbonara!!
Thank you for going and for sharing!!
What a beautiful note and validation from Chef, what an incredible compliment! Way to go dude! 🔥
Love your videos! I really learn along with you. Thanks for letting us tag along. It honestly brought a tear to my eye when the. He’d was so thankful. Highlight of my day!
Wow! What an amazing interaction for both of you! Congratulations and well done, Alex!
Your videos have seriously upped my cooking game, thank you.
This made me so very happy to watch. You are an inspiration, Alex.
This was a pleasure to see. I enjoy your videos. They resonate with me (and many others) as an authentic voyage of discovery. I'm glad you shared this it was very touching.
❤ this video makes me so happy!! This is such an example of humility, no ego from the chef or from you. Gratefulness is such a powerful feeling.
Congratulations Alex!
Well deserved praise and respect. We all benefit from your hard work and dedication to your craft. Thank you!
This is so wholesome and awesome. Congrats Alex.
that genuine happiness and love, is why we watch and support you sir. Keep it up and thank you
When we had a family trip to Rome this easter, we had to go to Lucianos restaurant with all 12 people and it was amazing. Alex your videos and tips are always a fundamental piece of our family gatherings. Much love!
Congrats Alex!! This is the impact that you bring into our life’s and for which we are watching you
I literally got goose bumps all over me. For real. Humility is the greatest of human qualities, ever.
Amazing recipe, amazing recreation, and an eye-tearing interaction between you two. I hope you are able to travel more and meet more amazing beautiful chefs (and other food professionals) around the world. Salut!
This actually brought a tear to my eye, the mutual respect and love for the craft is so refreshing to see. Alex must be over the moon with that compliment, can’t be topped! 🇮🇹 viva la pasta
And...it brought a lump in my throat. I was so thankful for Alex and his 'quest' for the perfect pasta and thankful that I get to 'ride along', as it were, on his journey.
You’re not only making yourself better, you’re making viewers like me better. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Wow! I’m so glad for you Alex!! Keep up the great work that you are doing. Love your style of videos and the content is both fun and educational✌🏼✌🏼
WOW I'm so happy for you Alex, this is a big win for you but also for the channel, as your followers are recognized as making an impact. I very much appreciate what you do; you have created a healthy outlet for those of use who love to nerd out, deep-dive and essentially analyze even seemingly mundane things.
That’s so awesome. Congrats to you and Luciano’s success! Bravo 👏👏
I had nothing to do with this project of yours, but I couldn't help smiling with joy when Luciano thanked you for bringing more attention to his restaurant. Keep up the excellent work!
Loool, that is such a respect and you have to be so happy! Amazing and great job, your work is well payed by these words!
I’m one of the people who had the carbonara dish at Luciano’s because of your videos recently. I was in Rome and couldn’t pass up on the experience. Obviously it was amazing 😄 I told them I came because of you and they were super glad about it. Luciano mentioned something about a gift for you to thank you 😊 Amazing man, congrats on all your great videos!
That was quite the compliment! Well deserved of course.
My wife is now addicted to your videos by the way. She ran over when this video was playing haha
Loved to see you collaborate with Ethan!!! And cheers for the praises from Luciano!
don't let it get to your head! but in all seriousness... your enthusiasm in cooking is inspiring. Teaching techniques and learning from your experiences is one of the reasons I keep coming back. You have a following (darn near a cult) of people that love what you do. Keep it up!
That is so awesome!!! So happy for you Alex!
You deserve all this love man and I wish you keep these passion for what you love going on
I actually sent people who were going to Rome at Luciano's based on your video. They really enjoyed and said it was the best carbonara ever. Thank you Alex !
So pure 😢 and shout out to the community! Let’s keep the good vibes going! The world can use some extra love
I went to Eataly in Brazil just to buy the original ingredients and I followed the steps in the video.. it was one of the best carbonara of my life!!
It’s truly impossible to watch your videos without a smile on your face. Very well done on this, I’m going to try your recipe very soon!
I
Looking forward to the next episodes🙌🏻
Thanks for sharing this moment with all of us.
This video was so sweet! Really glad you decided to share your reaction with us!
I’ve had Rome on my list for quite a while, and when I go there I will definitely visit Luciano for Carbonara and aglio de olio, what a class act
I'm so happy for you! This is amazing!
This was really touching. Keep making the world a better place!
That is such a high honor. And, beyond that.... you are helping him without even knowing. I wanted to visit his restaurant as a stop on my visit to Europe. I will definitely get my reservation first, then plan my trip around that now. This is the beauty of what you do. Helping us all learn, and helping those who believe in you enough to teach. It is a glorious world. Thank you both. This was inspiring to watch.
This is a sweet moment. Happy for both of you on the exchange of info that benefits us all. This is a wonderful moment in culinary history.
