Most important routine after ride in water/rain. EUC must be VERTICALY and not charged next 24 hours(more better). This routine can prevent fire!

@@kingdongo4388 I have an electronics vacuum cleaner the xpower vac. I use it to clean my the dust out of my computer. Could help to dry a wheel out quicker. But I would face the the vac downwards not upwards to push the water out. Letting gravity finish the drying process.

I've had my gotway mcm5 for almost two weeks and it has some minor scratches and stuff from mounting it falling down but I've only had it for 2 weeks and I think I hear a small sound in it like the fan making a weird noise kind of like it's rubbing or something it's only after I ride for a very little while like I said I've only had it for a week or two should I be worried
18xl - heavily rain, mud, thousands of km on both my xls. Every time I open them up they are mostly dust-free and are completely dry inside. Inmotion - v10fs had major water ingress problems when released. Two of my personal v10fs had issues. V8 heavy rain all dry inside. Same with V8f. 16x - as you said, dusty but dries up, no key components affected. Thank you for posting and touching up on the subject.
Inmotion and Kingsong are somewhat water resistant, Gotway /Begode have little if no water resistance . To my knowledge ,anyway.

This video gives a pretty optimistic view on waterproofing for most wheels. My experience with 16X, Sherman and of course MSP is not that great. I agree, you can be lucky if you expose your wheel to rain/water occasionally and dry it well. But if you are using the wheel on everyday basis for commuting, not to mention working and riding 1000s of kms every month, the damage is inevitable. Bearings give up, some parts of electronics (can differ from wheel to wheel) will short circuit etc. And pay attention to physical damage that your wheel may have - this increases the risk of water damage significantly. So my advice would be to waterproof your wheel thoroughly and (or) do regular checks to see any damage happening.

I bought V8F as my first wheel. It is amazing, so small and powerfull. All I need for my everyday city use. I saw disasembly videos, it is awesome. IP 55 rating, sealed battery and motherboard, just amazing. For commuting I need waterproof wheel. Storm can arrive anytime in the summer :-).

Was choosing between Sherman and Ex-n, went for the Sherman after seeing two holes in ex-n. One behind mobo poorly sealed + the big hole that you sealed off with mesh (mesh is not water proof though, to keep in mind). Glad to hear Sherman pulled it off well, goes online with what i have seen since it came out

Great informative video on a very important subject! One thing I do wonder about though is the suggestion of riding with a plastic bag over the wheel. Isn’t there a problem with the operation of the cooling fan then? Resulting in a risk of overheating?

I liked it, very practical and useful.
I know Inmotion state an IPX rating but I believe these are "self awarded" so I wouldn't trust it too much. Any wheel with a hollow motor bearing is going to fail at some point in the rain so I'd avoid the V11 if you're going to ride in the rain. Personally I wouldn't trust the Info screen on the V12 to remain waterproof - I might be wrong but it just seems an obvious place for water ingress. I believe the best wheels for riding in the rain are the Kingsong 18XL and the Gotway Nikola. I have a Nikola+ and it does seem completely waterproof, at least so far anyway :)
Just thinking a backpack raincover should work for some wheels? I don’t own an euc so just speculating. But for the prices those things cost i feel they all should be rainproof from factory

I want to know what mods have you done (or got in that motor) like turbinators rewinding ferrofluid sidecovers....???
Also how many amps or watts can you put through that motor (5-10seconds peaks)???
I am thinking to buy qs205 but wondering what is the maximum amount of amps that can be run through the motor with maximum mods that can be done in that motor (qs205 v3).

The Gotway Monster v3 100v is not waterproof out of the box. But it is very easy to do by applying some silicon kit to the USB port, cable holes, front light holes and put a bit of tape on the on/off button.
Drove it a few times stock in heavy rain, it did not want to turn on the next day because probably water was shorting the on/off button. When I pressed the button only my lights turned on and there was a beep sound. But the wheel did not stabilize.
Drove 3500km on it now. No problems anymore. Just add that silicon. 🤝
Always check you case when you do jumpy thing.
With cable holes I meant the outside things on the top corners near the side panels. While there is a gasket on the 100v v3 for the side panels only I would still recommend to double seal it from the outside with some extra silicon.
I'm planning on getting a mcm5 v2 as a last mile commuting wheel. Any feedback on its waterproofing ? I never know if it's gonna rain..
I have a GOTWAY Monster V3 100V it's good in rain, needs some minor work. Other than that it's great in rain.
I believe the only potential issue with the Nikola are the Bluetooth speakers. They are exposed to the inside part of the wheel well, just add the same water resistant foam recommended for the air intake of the others wheels.
Does the German maneuver speed hack still work? I have a ninebot G30D and Iam thinking about the speed increase
Adam, I notice you looking back a lot to see if there are someone coming from behind. I have seen others using a mirror placed on their helmets and some having a mirror on the back of their gloves. Have you ever tried any of those or maybe even have a video review on those?
Also any other gizmos like a bluetooth controller you can mount on your arm or glove that can control lights, horns, music or whatever?

Thanks. This is an important topic for me. I can not, not drive in rainy weather and this is such a big safety issue for me, that I can only buy IP rating wheels (InMotion), and can only dream of Begode (Monster). Driving 50 km / h and just hoping that this is not the day someone tells you that you should have read the manual, is not acceptable to me.
The ninebot Z10 has great waterproofing. (Can confirm by dropping it in a creek) as Al the electrical components are behind a rubber sealed sideplate, the batteries in their own waterproof housing and the controller in a separate plastic rubber sealed box as well. Looks very high quality!

I finally got to try out a Tesla v2 last night, I was a bit wasted but it definitely feels absolutely amazing, I finally see how amazing these things are man!
I was kind of hoping you would address the trolley handle on the Sherman, when I ride in the rain hi I have put a plastic bag over the top, but I worry about the air vent, and whether it’s Cooling the motherboard as well as it should, with the plastic bag over it. Ordinarily I ride pretty cautiously in the rain anyways so I don’t imagine it needs as much cooling as it would if I was writing fast, on a hot summers day, but I’m curious what your general ideas about that are. Thanks!

Hi Adam! Could you post a video on your thoughts of events like the NYC alley cat race, which received much controversy over law breaking and general saftey and wellbeing of everyone? (pedestrians especially)
Hey there! Maybe I will include it in a general video about EUC safety. I wasn’t thinking of making a direct response to the alley cat thing. Driving quick the opposite lane and fast and close to pedestrians is definetely dangerous, we should drive ok the correct lanes and take care of pedestrians
Whats there to say? In general, ppl break laws daily. Its whether we get caught, we get hurt & if we hurt others as well. Its NYC & if you've been there recently, there's many (many many) other ways to get killed/hurt other than euc street racing. FWIW I'm not from there but instead from a jurisdiction that would get me dangerous/reckless something ticket & likely get my wheel confiscated as well. I also don't think I have the ballz for that but I'm also aware enough not to judge esp other parts of the world. Some parts of the world eat dogs & cats while others stone gays so there's that.

EUCO, Ewheels and Shredlights all denounced their support for this event, so what are Adam's thoughts in regards to this kind of event? To your first comment, cats and dogs, just because somebody is doing somethn bad and it gives em a bad reputation, doesn't mean we should do something bad(like breaking traffic laws, almost running into people) and give ourselves the same reputation. I don't care what you do, in the end it just shows what kind of person you really are. I'm not telling you what to do either. Nikola plus 100 v 25000 km : rain snow hot cold - no any problems, but it broke in stand aria and i can t buy this plastic part :( but as for me nikola is the best buy'n'go whell in the world of wheells and lasy riders) but now i weating for my sherman. Just spray some conformal coating to protect/water proof your control boards.
and use dielectric grease on connectors
Rain water alone should not make short circuit, as it almost salt free (0.05% or smth like that), water from puddles is different. But water cause other problems like rust, degrading unprotected copper on contacts, circuits, etc...

You would do an episode of how to lock it in front of the store. Locks and padlocks for a unicycle, how to securely lock, etc.
If someone wants to steal a wheel or an e scooter , if they see it not much you can do if you are not around to stop them. My method is to hide the in the weeds , by a tree , in a ditch with high weeds , behind a bush, etc. I even hid a scooter back by a dumpster in the back of a store front . Flying under the radar is a way of life.
An electrical piece of equipment designed specifically for out door use with no water proof rating? It just shows me the companies behind them must be real backyarders.. Water proof Battery packs and hub wheels for Ebikes have been around a long time now so there is no excuse. 'Just put a plastic bag over it' haha, i'd be embarrassed if someone needed to do that with one of my products. EUC's will have a big future for commuting when they are durable and reliable like everything else in the market they are trying to compete against.

Im just a toddler to the EUC community, little over 100km. Just wanna know, isnt it dangerous to ride in the rain with wet roads ?
Its raining in my country and im waiting till the roads get dry to ride. Honestly , Im dieing to ride my ninebot one A1. 😊
Be careful when the road is slippery. I find that sidewalks are generally less slippery and I prefer then when it's wet. I've had my wheel slide out from under me in situations where I know it would not have if the surface were dry... maybe a more off road tire might help but u still have to be careful on account of the one point of contact with the ground.

Hi there . Does your country sell used electric scooters?
The idea that any IP rating code indicates some water protection is not completely true. An IP ratings might indicate protection against harm from touching with the back of the hand, but not from sticking a finger in an open hole, and no protection from water has been tested. Here's more than any of us want to know about the numbers: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code
In Kujiroll's video on the pre-production KS-S18, it has IP55 waterproof rating, in case you did not remember it.

The Ninebot One E+ is IP55, not exactly waterproof but spray proof :-) Not too bad by even modern standards. I consider my KS16X to be worse , but not to much so.

I went from eScooters to EUCs hoping not to cope with water resistance. I have failed! Screws, bearings, sealing, mosfets and what ever! Its no rocket science to build reliable vehicles!

Es ist so logisch. Räder ohne Leistung können gut Wasserdicht gemacht werden. Muss mehr kraft und speed her.. brauchts bessere Belüftung. Jungs alles könnt ihr nicht haben . Kauft dichte Ware und fährt 25 kmh. Ich will power und fahre praktisch nicht im Regen

gotway is not good wheel,be careful
I had McM5 V2 and put 5,000miles on it. I've rode it in severe weather, high winds, and thunderstorms and never had any issues with it. That wheel is a Tank although the speaker inside isn't as durable and blew out 😭
