Omg I was SO EXCITED when you announced your number one, it was one of my top faves this year too!!! 🥳 Most of your other faves are on my bookshelves right now… Definitely going to try to get to them in 2025!
Yeah, I know for me personally I had to take a step back from it for awhile and reflect on why I was interested in it, because I don’t think I was consuming it the right way a few years ago. I think everyone has different reasons for having an interest in it, but its always important to center the victims and their stories. So ultimately yes, I do think there’s a responsible or right way to consume true crime (not consuming in bulk, being mindful of the type of content you’re consuming b/c some documentaries/shows/movies are exploitative and glamorize the killers, etc).
This list is pure TASTE 🙏🏻
What an honor coming from you!
📚 my favorite was definitely Tia Williams' "love song for Rickie Wilde"
Yessss!! So good!
The books I’ve read of your favorites are top tier books for me so immediately adding the rest to my tbr
Yayyy! I love when my tastes align with people!!
How High We Go in the Dark is one of my all time fave books!! Such an interesting book!

Yasss! We both have taste!! ✨
My favorite books of the year are a tie between Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake and In a Garden Burning Gold by Rory Power!
I remember you telling me about Alone With You in the Ether! And I’ve read from Rory Power once, may need to give them another go!
Tress and Monstrilio were 5 stars for me this year, too! Great list :)
Yesss, taste!!✨thank you!!
A love song for Ricki wilde was a good one. It's not the most extraordinary book out there...but it did what it was supposed to do.
Yeah, I can understand how it may not hit like her other book, but I definitely enjoyed it!

Also for me there's a right way to like true crime and A wrong way to like true crime and I want to know how you feel about that
