    When I was 8 yrs old my family went to Heritage USA and it was amazing. I still remember the geese and ducks that were everywhere and the lillipads at the water park.

    We all loved it! The kids were skate guards. We volunteered on phones, the auction and passion play. Every show and service were God blessed.

    When I was a kid, we lived in a house in Alabama built in 1986 that had very similar wallpaper to the hotel. I guess 1986 was a banner year for pastel-colored floral wallpaper.

    I wish that Heritage would be bought and be turned into what it was once intended for - I like the idea of somewhere that's "supposed to be" clean and old fashioned. 😔💜

    It just makes me SICK how much work went into that beautiful tower, and all for nothing! I hope Morningstar can save it and turn it into housing for the elderly (or anyone, really), as someone suggested.

      @@manthony777 I have said that over & over. My late father was a pastor & a CPA. Every church he was sent to was in financial distress because they didn't understand money. Most of us don't. Great video,thanks.Whatever your views are on Jim and Tammy all i can say is not many people could have pulled off a project this big and if it wasnt for their sexual sin and false accounting/ mis use of the millions of dollars that flooded into PTL i think Heritage USA would still have been there today,such a shame that once again the total depravity of man destroyed such an amazing project.

    • @betsyheimbuch
      @betsyheimbuch Рік тому +1

      I disagree with your statement the accounting was deliberately false. Jim needed financial people around him NOT ministers. Ministers are the worse financial people. My late father both pastor & CPA went to so many churches he had to bail out from improper financial practices. There is false accounting & deliberate evasion. Jim needed more CPA's & financial officers.

    The handicapped child's name was Kevin Whittum. He died in 1992 at the age of 24. Here is an article about it: www.upi.com/Archives/1992/08/11/Disabled-youth-who-lived-in-PTLs-Kevin-House-dies/1112713505600/ Seems like everyone and everything in these videos is dead, except of course for Jim Bakker. Different track, I had wondered what was that huge white mansion shown around the lake in these videos. After looking closely at Google Maps, at least one of those buildings was at one time in the parking lot of the large high school that now occupies the SW corner of the property, you can rewind time on the maps and see the house sitting there, seems like once the school was finished being built the house was torn down.

The tower is in bad shape but the Grand hotel was open and doing retreats and meetings and the RV park had folks staying there. Baaker took a lot of money from a lot of decent folks like my aunt and uncle and he's doing it again ,just a snakeoil salesman.

    Coming here after seeing the Movie, as a French people I can be quite shocked BUT at least no, because yes as European it can be awkward to have places and TV show like these but finally where is the harm? They give some hope and some places and care action for people : the little boy Kevin in the beginning maybe if he didn’t know the show (his parent finally) and if his parents didn’t contact the show maybe he couldn’t afford to benefice the health and the rest of quite good life (apparently the poor boy died in the beginning of the 90s but at least they tried to gave him a nice end of life). Maybe I am a little naïve person, but because of the personality of Tammy and her good faith, her kind soul and positive soul : it gave me a big smile. So maybe it was not so a bad thing all these God show… I am sure some people were very sad when all of these was closed and ended.

    • @crixxxxxxxxx

      The harm was that they were taking money from people without providing them the services they were promised in exchange. In America, we call that fraud.
