    "A don doesn't wear shorts."
Throughout The Sopranos, Tony certainly has his fare share of enemies and antagonists that we see throughout the series. From the toxic mother had to deal with for a majority of his life, to the plethora of nagging girlfriends, to his wife Carmela, the FBI, and even the multiple rats that try and take down Tony and his family, Tony certainly has to watch his back at all times. But there';s no enemy that causes Tony more stress than his close friends in New York in The Lupertazzi Crime Family. No matter who their boss was, from Phil, Johnny, to even Carmine Lupertazzi Sr., they always costed Tony millions of dollars.

I never knew Ginny Sack's brother was made in a NY family (Infante). If so, why did the Sopranos feel free to rip him off at his glasses business?

Rewatching the series, they under utilized the other Families. The Lupertazzis were the only ones we see.

  • @skatemobster

That would be a cool spin-off. "The Lupertazzi's".

Phil's problem was he tried to make a Western

I know one of the Lupertazzi family members did 20 years in the can. I can't remember which one though. They never mentioned it

Philly would have been a good boss if he had done time without compromise.

The Luchesses were never the strongest or biggest family... it was always either the Gambinos or the Genovese crime families. That's a well known fact. The 3rd place is Bannano, then number 4 spot is luchesse and lastly colombo family is the weakest. I don't know where you heard that Luchesses were strongest.... but that's wrong. Just saying haha

The Lupertazzi family? A family? i told you they're just a glorfied board of directors

  • @TheMightyZim

I always thought the Luppertazzis were a version of the Genovese.

  • @impress6406

Didn't Paulie "Live through the 70s by the skin of my nuts when the Colombos were going at it"? That would mean that at least back then, the Colombo family existed in New York in the show

As Carmine Jr might have put it, the Lupertazzis are one of the most profane crime families in the anals of history. Though they had numerous alterations with the Sopranos, both of the families realized that a pint of blood costs more than a gallon of gold and kept their differentials to a minimalist.

"Incompetent Butch"? He organized the hits on Doc, Bobby & Sil.

  • @wiseguysonny1697

Well done! Although Luccheses IRL aren't that powerful. It is Gambino and Genovese who are taking the top spot.

"Shil coulda got hoit!:" What a great actor James Gandolfini was.

It was so confusing that they made fictional families, when they reference the real families throughout the series. The scene with Meadow naming all five families, then early in the series a character said "there hasn't been a war since that colombo thing" and I think its part of paulie's character and he mentions multiple times how he survived the colombo war.

I'd say that Carmine Sr was more a combination of paul castalino and angelo bruno.
