It doesn't matter how many stories you have heard, you still need to experience your own journey yourself and to understand the world in your own perspectives.
Agree. Plus how to handle common but difficult life situations, what to expect from life, how to handle depression. Why werent these things taught to us
I completely advocate this. It's taken me a long while to notice that the best periods of my life were those where I was self aware. But as someone who suffers from a lot of anxiety, I'd like to emphasise the difference between self awareness and rumination. Being self aware has a lot to do with being mindful of the present moment, whereas rumination is characterised by an obsession with the past. Know the difference.
The timing of this video is perfect. My therapist had just mentioned to me about being more self-aware this past week. It's something that was never brought up in my three years of depression but has been very effective during this season . As a person who has been asking himself "why" all the time, I can say for a fact that the "what" has definitely changed my outlook on life and I see myself being present more each and every day.
We also have to remember, just because you are self aware, it does not mean you get to put yourself down or not do anything about it because you are a "Bad person". It obviously depends on the things you did, but normal people usually don't commit atrocities. Now if you feel like you killed someone but did not do that in the slightest because your mind is playing tricks onto you, or because people blow what you did out of proportion, then asess the situation, be realistic of what you did (Don't say you killed someone but don't say you were innocent either) and work for it to be out of your life as much as possible. If you did not do anything that is a sentence to life in prison, then you gotta understand that even if you are alone in life, you are the only one responsible. Work for yourself for yourself, not because you wanna be seen as an angel. People with the biggest hearts have been sinners at least once, you do not have to carry a cross because of what you did. Of course if you did something actually terrible and harmful then you deserve the cross, but if not, then you really do not. You just need to learn about yourself, for yourself and be the best person you have ever been. If you understand that what you did was wrong, you have a good heart, most people do not understand it. Feel proud of yourself.
Learnt in my mba that growing and building better habits is known as self-management. But self-awareness is literally step #1 before you tackle self-management. Great video man!
Good thing to bring up Cole. Self awareness is necessary for making the right moves in life and learning from mistakes. Everyone should hear this message.
Life for a lot of us is experienced like a UA-cam video with the speed set 2x fast. By overthinking, and processing things too quickly we experience anxiety, frustration and several other negative feelings. When we slow things down, via meditation, breathing, we get that playback speed fixed and improved cognition/ self awareness.
I did that bonus tip at one point and I was like, "Huh, I like this. And I understand why I was upset earlier." But you put it in words beautifully. Thank you for your words.
Damn Cole loved how you used "why" to acknowledge the past, then what to bring ourselves back to the present where we can choose what we do next ELITE PLAY MY GUY
I love that bonus tip. It seems so simple to appreciate feeling good just as much as you despise feeling bad. I think people do this because they think that "feeling good" is how they should feel. They think feeling good is just an average feeling of life. But says who?
I found your channel when my boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend and your video about your breakup popped up in my recommendation section. I could totally relate with that video I did the exact same things in that phase but now I am doing great all because of you. I think discovering your channel was one the best thing after my breakup. Much love cole.
Does not matter who you were..it matters what you do now and how you react now...just go out talk to people don't know you ,be social and finally you will be the change that you want to see in your life. This thing i am doing in my channel blogging and i discovered myself by being social. Don't be shy just do it and in the end you will be happy.
I know that you work really hard to make storytelling seem so effortless ✨I definitely agree that asking yourself “What?” Is more important than “Why?” when working on your self awareness. Action changes mindset the quickest imo 😁
Love the value placed on self awareness. As a society that's been taught to focus so much on ourselves from the view of other people, it's such an amazing skill to learn how to focus on yourself from your own awareness.
In my openion "who m i " Is not a right qstn you should ask yourself coz this will only give you limited answer. Yes definitely every individual has their different basic characteristics but these chacters can be shaped by our definition of who am I..so instead of this. "How I want to be" Is the right qstn...

I just found your channel recently and damn dude you just keep on delivering excellent content. I really believe you're making a positive difference in peoples lives, keep it coming! Cheers from a Swedish brother!
I don't think we should be aware when we are happy or not, otherwise it will take away from the experience. Say I feel really good when eating ice cream, I shouldn't be thinking about how happy I am or what not because it dulls that moment, we should be unknowingly happy. But I do agree that we should note when we are happy, after we have experienced the moment to it's fullest. Like say a day after I ate that ice cream, I then think "Yesterday that ice cream was pretty good."
I'm not sure if you're aware man, but tbis was so fucking eye opening. You're right everytime i ask "why" i causes over analyaztion to a question thag I'll most likely never know for sure. But i can for sure ask "what can i do" to change how u react in the future. Love it so much man. TY
I would love to see a video on your thoughts on michael A singers spiritual teachings. Thanks for everything man. You're so wise, I hope I'm like that at age 24. (22 now)
There's something I learned about myself that I don't like: I'm full of prej udice, and respect people for the _wrong_ reasons. It depends on the person and circumstances. For example, it turns out, I think neurotypicaIs are better than people with ASD. I HATE this about me: I think "lesser" is a word to match those on the spectrum--social skills, brains, personalities, normality. I write them off as inferior and abnormal. And it's not as simple as "change the attitude"; it's *_automatically_* in me, the way I feel, whether consciously or subconsciously. I'm sorry, guys; I'm ash amed of myself. It turns out I also think people who don't have learning disabiIities are smarter than those who do have them. And that's what brings me here. My ex-coworker (E.C.) always seemed like a slow learner, and he has made some mistakes at work. Plus, he graduated at 20 at a small charter school, he still lived with his mom at 28, and he didn't have a driver's license. I'm a student leader at my college's catering business, and I learned that the guy had signed up for a service by himself. I thought it was a bad idea, so I went to our boss. She was upset. Told EC she didn't think he could manage alone and was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" and she told him he needed someone there to guide him. Well, that night, he saved a life and was very quick and resourceful (long story short, to subtract the length). My boss apologized for beIittIing him, said he was amazing, and she believed in him to work the shift alone. But he refused and quit. Told her she didn't _truly_ respect him; it was all conditional and her "He-is-incompetent" view would've stayed otherwise. Well, I'm practically as pathe tic as her. I didn't *_consciously_* think EC was a Ioser. I *_automatically_* thought he was one. Like, I didn't say or think the word about him, but I just felt it in me. But I was wrong. I think noble of him now, but only because of what he did, not because of who he was. I put certain people on the "weak list" until they do something to impress me. For example, I shamefuIIy think/feel that anyone at EC's old charter school is inferior to those who go to the local public high school, that you can't be very smart if you're at the smaller place. That's one reason why I thought EC was weak. And it really bothers me--my bi ases on who's better than who. I really don't like myself.
Hey Cole! I want to start a self development UA-cam channel because it's my favourite thing in life and I wanted to know what your camera is so I could know what I need for my setup

That is true. I have heard a lot of stories and need to live my own life.
You’re providing a valuable service. Mind boggling that schools don’t discuss things of this nature whatsoever.
Some schools do. My school has self development lessons

Definitely
That's one of the reason why meditation and the resulting mindfulness & concentration are such outstanding tools - they promote self-awareness so much
Without a doubt. Can catch yourself in the act of unconscious behavior big time

There are other bad crimes other than killing someone physically. Someone can kill someone's success through sabotage and to me that is just as bad.
