I am obsessed with ferns. We built the house on land with no trees. Therefore, no shade. I have spent the last 26 years creating a yard that would accommodate ferns. Now I have shade -- thanks to the trees and the 6'foot privacy fence. I have ferns growing under the trees, against the fence and out from under a deck. I planted under the trees and against the fence, but never planted under the deck. One week ago, I discovered a new fern growing against the garage, on the North side -- a part of the yard that has no ferns at all. I am happy!
