I think the reason a lot of people may not have liked the film because it's not Matt Damon, and the character isn't Bourne. But I think the plot of this film was to explain that other cia programs similar to treadstone got affected by the aftermath of this decision. It's meant to explain there are others like Bourne and this how some of them are being affected. I personally like this film.
Maybe this film would've benefitted with a different title. With the current title people obviously expected Jason Bourne and Matt Damon. Since Jeremy Renner is playing an entirely different character, they should kept a different name and marketed it as a movie in the Bourne universe.
For me the problem with this movie was the plot not Jeremy Renner. Jason Bourne is inherently a more compelling character than Aaron Cross because Bourne has amnesia and every movie unravels the conspiracy and mystery behind Bourne's past. In the Bourne Legacy we're basically just spoon fed the details and fallout of Treadstone. And also, like a magician revealing his trick, its revealed that Aaron Cross and the other agents rely on performance enhancement drugs in order to do all the amazing things they do which makes it a lot less compelling. It completely kills the mystique of how these characters are able to outsmart the villains or persevere through adverse odds. He's able to win only because he has these brain pills that boost his IQ which give him a huge advantage over any situation
Love it when she said ‘kinda hoping that we’re lost’ and then it switched to his face and the music kicks in. After that, it’s just them in each other’s presence without exchanging any words but there’s a clear attraction between them.
Yes and if this was real life it would be much more than just attraction and a whole lot more after sharing life-threatening and survival bond with the other!
I loved Jeremy Renner in this role. He is a very physical actor and the producers loved that he could ride that motorcycle like he did. Aaron Cross is a great character and hope to see Jeremy Renner to followup movies like this.
It's so cool how they shot the ending scene with the camera circling the boat and then going away with the iconic music playing....love the cinematography!!
It was drone shot, I started my own drone photog business a couple years back, recently wanted to add to my fleet and get a solid big boy cinematic drone, but am on a tight budget. The guy that filmed this final drone shot is from the Midwest only an hour or so from me, and was retiring and selling off a lot of his old equipment, I saw it one line and bought it. I thought he was just blowin' smoke up my butt when he told me, but I IMDB'd his name and sure enough, drone operator on this movie, in fact this clip doesn't show the whole reverse zipline shot, but it won some award for longest continuous drone shot (at the time). It's not the newest or most advanced anymore, but it's a big DJI S1000 Octocopter, with a really nice Zenmuse gimbal and Lumix DMC GH4k camera, still flys great and gives me gorgeous footage.
Jeremy Renner was an outstanding substitute for Matt Damon. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery. It would be a great thing to have a Bourne film starring both of them.
The love story here was perfect - he saves her, she saves him, and it is kept platonic all through the film. It actually makes it feel a lot stronger than any romcom, where all they do is work on depicting love, and usually fail miserably.
Such a Priceless Moment.....doesn't every girl want/wish to be lost with that guy, when your options are limited....one of my favorite parts....and he got it when she said it....Love it....
hehe this boat belongs to our family business :) it's the Sabrina 1, which is the oldest boat we have. it's only one among our other boats. just wanted to share that little trivia hehehehe
I agree with you on that one she's still beautifull but when she was in the mummy she was gorgeous. I would have left my own wife to go buy some siggerettes
This scene brings a smile to my face every time. Love this movie. As a pure action flick, it isn't as good as the original trilogy. However, this scene shows what this movie has that the others don't. It has the beautiful and talented Rachel Weisz and her great chemistry with Jeremy Renner. I'll watch any movie with Rachel Weisz, and I'll watch any movie with Jeremy Renner. So, this is an easy watch for me. In fact, because of them, I find myself more wanting to rewatch this movie than the others.
I have found that chemistry seems to be a very subjective thing. I wouldn't have initially believed that, but I have found that movie after movie whenever people praise or condemn chemistry between two actors, there are always people on the other side who feel the opposite. There are rare exceptions of universal agreement, but in general, this always seems to be the case. I don't know if different people have different ideas of what chemistry is or if it is just a feeling that people get, but regardless, people's feelings on chemistry always seem to go both ways. Personally, I thought Rachel and Jeremy had great chemistry. It wasn't a sexual tension kind of thing. I give you that. But the chemistry they had fit the movie and the characters. I would compare it to the chemistry Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had in Speed. They didn't instantly dig each other. It wasn't a chemistry built on attraction. It was two people who have gone through something really traumatic with each other and just bond. @@lizclegg7556

I'm amazed that throughout the whole movie they didn't make love with eachtoher, nor even have a kissing moment. You could feel sparks fly, especially when he was being sick, the tension was there.
Mr. Jeremy rener is a very classy man.the kind of man a woman want to marry. The ending scene of legacy is beautiful.starting of a decent mature romance.

If Jeremy doesn't get a sequel (Even though he deserves one, imo. It was freshing to see the consequences of Jason's actions through Aaron's eyes.) But this is a great ending to solo outing; why work out your next move when no-one know where you are? It'd be the dream to get lost. 😊💛
Best bit about this scene is the start with the boatman wearing the Rolex that our man stole of some dead goon earlier, it’s subtly done here and needs no words
