Jess, I have my mini twists in for 6 days now and they're still perfect.
I don't do too many styles to it. I let it be without a pony tail. And in day five I wet it fully in the shower and they bounced back to life. I then re moisturise it and let it air dry. The secret is to not over manipulate it.

i have mini twists in now and when they start to look a little old after week one, i just wet my hair and add a veryyy small amount of leave in to my hair in sections. then when i feel like it looks juicy and moisturized again, i'll spray some mousse on top and then wrap my head with a scarf to lay any fly aways down. that works like a charm for me and doesn't require any re-twisting!

I found that when doing mini twist the easiest way to do them is to rope twist the hair. Basically twist the strands the opposite way them twist them together. I've been doing it this way for a month now. I can definitely say detangling the twist after take down is much easier. I can wet my hair with the twist in and it doesn't get fuzzy.

    • @sassys1240

This is so true. Rope twists last so much longer. My sister is a super lazy natural. The last time I put twists in her hair she had them in for about a month or more. She didn't expect to her them that long, but the rope twists just lasted. Now I've taught her. Lol

I definitely think it varies with hair texture. My twists last well over a month but my hair is coarse/nappy whatever you want to call it. I literally think with water and grease or Vaseline I’d be good. I can sleep without a bonnet or scarf at night...I’m still good. They won’t come undone and it’s probably because of my texture-I’m guessing. My hair is always in two strand twists or mini twists....I don’t wear twist outs. It’s the only style I know how to do.

I have totally felt your pain especially when you had to cut your hair because I recently had to cut a lot off, but it was needed. From all of the other girls I've followed, I feel that the information and tips that you suggest are a true life saver and works for my hair the best.
I did the mini twists, and I definitely had to refresh them within in the week. Within a few days, my hair looked like I had not done my hair at, lol. So I definitely understand where you're coming from. But they're a great protective style and I will continue to do them.

For my twists, I band them at night and then wear a scarf instead of a bonnet. In the morning I just spritz with a little water, shake and go. That helps my twist stay for weeks. If you aren’t going anywhere just leave them banded until you gonna wear them down.

Great. I got my lazy self to do some mini twists not too long ago. I usually keep my twists in for a week, because how they will look.
A tip: I started doing the banding method with elastic hair ties on my twists to keep it stretch and also maintain the shape. I part my twists either in three (two in front and one in the back) or in four (two in front and two in the back). This prevents unnecessary shrinkage and the shape of the twists return in minutes after release.

Can I just say I was waiting for you to upload. Girrrlllll I’m here for everything u bring.
This was my experience as well. I feel like doing small braids lasts longer for me. When I do mini twists they get hella frizzy automatically. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I've done 2 strand twists on quite a few people and they've lasted a week or more til they've come back for a new do. Even after separating them but. That's life

We have basically the same length and type hair. I don’t even make parts lol. I just section my hair in 4 and use my fingers to break small pieces to do the twists. I don’t use anything that will make my hair revert but unlike what you did I add a dabble of product on each piece as I’m about to twist it. I spray a mixture of leave-in, water and my concoction of oils on it every day to refresh them and oil my edges and nape. I oil my scalp every other day. They last me two weeks. Then I rinse and repeat lol. It does take a long time to do but it’s worth it cause you don’t have to do anything but refresh, shake and go. Hope that helped lol

I might be alone in saying this but, I like when twist look older. I would go for the mini rope twists if you're looking for them to last longer. You twist your hair up slightly differently with this style of twist. Also, is bed of a satin cap where a satin scarf or du rag.

I mini twist my hair all the time. I find they hold better if you do them on wet hair with flax seed gel. I get close to them bottom and use my natural curl to hold the ends together Then I let them air dry. At night I use the banding method under my head scarf. My twists can last for week and a half before I redo some of them.

I struggled w/mine sooo bad. The trick for me was to make BIGGER twists, braid the root 4-6 times b4 twisting, blue magic & shine n jam on my strands, & I kinda wrap my hair @ night as if I had a blow out. Bobby puns help me keep it flat.

I also have twist done a few days ago....it dont last long either. Maybe bad sleeping habit although i wear a a headtie and satin bonnet...I still try to keep them fresh by redoing it. I want it to last atleast 2 weeks. It depends on hairtype as well....the softer the hair the easier it will come out.

Lol I've been doing mini twists since my big chop I couldn't even tell you the best product to use except that would help last it for weeks except the curl gel you used actually...I stopped using it because I wanted a cheaper alternative but I may go back to it! Twists does help retain your length well though. Looks good though!
