for instance there was a mod a while back that allowed you to get the cowl from the most famous thief to every live for the name that might be something i would add
Odyssey is a sequel and will require completion of Legacy. We are intending to offer a Live Another Life addon which will let you start a lvl 50 character with all pre-reqs (including vanilla main quest) done so you can start Odyssey right off the bat. It will require a new game when it is released since Odyssey Act 1 will be an ESM file.
Am I understanding it right, that they are gonna release it in smaller chunks? Because if not, it would take so much time to get any content and risk not being finished.
Yep, acts will be released episodically and Act 1 will take the longest to finish because it's the largest worldspace we are likely to do and has the foundational NPC dialog work all in it as well as several other resources for future acts so it's taking longer. Act 3 will also come back to Balfiera at the end of it, so more content there too.
I’ve been rewatching the legacy playthrough and saw your character creation I just wanted to share how I make my character, I usually make my character an imperial that lost his memory after waking up in a shipwreck off the coast morrowind and getting caught tryna sneak back into Skyrim hence the Helgen start but just a thought have you ever thought that the Dragonborn could be a septim? I know that the septim dynasty ended with Martin in the oblivion crisis but didn’t one of the emperors go to akavir and never return? What if he built a family there and eventually the Dragonborn was born to his great grandkid and then the Dragonborn sailed across the eastern sea and ended up in a shipwreck losing his memory
Since Odyssey will be an ESM - which will shuffle your load order on install - it is looking less likely. The team will try to make it possible to install on a game in progress, but at this point you are highly likely to have to start over.
That would be so cool, sadly I don't think beyond skyrim is doing valenwood yet so it would take a loooong time for that to exist. But as you said, we can dream.
Considered it, but since we are developing in a serial fashion, it doesn't make sense to wait around for BS to get their stuff done before we start working on things, so we are doing our own versions of places.
@@thegamefur7330 for several reasons this is just not feasible. The main problem is that even the SE engine is going to struggle with so much content. Think about it this way; Legacy is bigger than all three of the DLCs combined, Beyond Skyrim - Bruma is almost that big as well. Odyssey Act 1 is bigger than both of those combined. There are more parts of Beyond Skyrim coming as well as 7 more acts of Odyssey. And that's before any other mods people may want to add to their Legacy museum. That's going to be a hell of a strain on the engine, 64-bit or no. Also, we looked ahead to realize that although Beyond Skyrim - Bruma was not really an issue, because (unless Ice has an 11th hour decision that sends us there) we aren't planning to go to Cyrodiil, but that's going to change in future acts. Moreover, it would be a really crappy thing to support Beyond Skyrim- Bruma and then turn around and pull the plug on the rest of the series. So it was better to set expectations in advance and tell folks to do separate play-throughs for each series.
Apparently the current timeline has it releasing sometime around the end of this year to the beginning of next year, there were some recent delays due to the release of legacy of the Dragonborn V6, but hopefully it won’t be too much longer…

We are intending to offer a Live Another Life addon which will let you start a lvl 50 character with all pre-reqs (including vanilla main quest) done so you can start Odyssey right off the bat. It will require a new game when it is released since Odyssey Act 1 will be an ESM file.
@@icecreamassassin3006 I'm a few months late to this, but thank you.
Any news about the project?
Am I understanding it right, that they are gonna release it in smaller chunks? Because if not, it would take so much time to get any content and risk not being finished.
Yup! To my understanding their plan is to release each Act as it's ready.
Haven't played skyrim in a bit is this finished now?
So when would you guess it will come out?
Between now and then ;) we have no tentative timetable yet. A year or so
I’ve been rewatching the legacy playthrough and saw your character creation I just wanted to share how I make my character, I usually make my character an imperial that lost his memory after waking up in a shipwreck off the coast morrowind and getting caught tryna sneak back into Skyrim hence the Helgen start but just a thought have you ever thought that the Dragonborn could be a septim? I know that the septim dynasty ended with Martin in the oblivion crisis but didn’t one of the emperors go to akavir and never return? What if he built a family there and eventually the Dragonborn was born to his great grandkid and then the Dragonborn sailed across the eastern sea and ended up in a shipwreck losing his memory
well maybe and maybe no. Because the Dragonborn in all original trailers is portrayed as a Blond hair Blue eyes Nord Male
Question, if I start a run new with the new legacy version, when odyssey comes out, could I in theory keep the same character/save?
Since Odyssey will be an ESM - which will shuffle your load order on install - it is looking less likely. The team will try to make it possible to install on a game in progress, but at this point you are highly likely to have to start over.
8 acts, is it even possible to complete?
Sadly I never got to complete legacy due to the amulet quest never starting like Byron just wont show up and I have 600 plus displays
Check the mod page faq’s section and most console commands are there for these situations with quests.
In 2030 this better at least get a compatability patch for beyond skyrim
I will highly doubt it btw but I can dream
That would be so cool, sadly I don't think beyond skyrim is doing valenwood yet so it would take a loooong time for that to exist. But as you said, we can dream.
Are they working with beyond Skyrim
Considered it, but since we are developing in a serial fashion, it doesn't make sense to wait around for BS to get their stuff done before we start working on things, so we are doing our own versions of places.
Bet this will become compatable with beyond skyrim at some point
nope
@@stonehands4175 ?
So it was better to set expectations in advance and tell folks to do separate play-throughs for each series.
do we know as to when are we going to able to play the odyssey of the dragonborn and when will it be realest
Apparently the current timeline has it releasing sometime around the end of this year to the beginning of next year, there were some recent delays due to the release of legacy of the Dragonborn V6, but hopefully it won’t be too much longer…
Here to see the LE people complain.
I love this. I hate that there isn't CBBE conversions for LotD and this is getting a preview video already. ;;
Is this out yet?
They said part one was coming 2 years ago, I wouldn’t put any stock in it coming anytime soon
You do you, but it's likely to be out within a year. COVID slowed the team down but there was already a lot done (estimated over half) and now everything is ramping back up.
Is this still progressing at all?
The info is out there, but the short answer is yes. Still hoping for the tail end of 2021.
@@stonehands4175 great, thank you for the intel, I was getting a bit worried that it would be abandoned.
@@snapperl nope, still in the works, the lead dev team members just got hit by a ton of stuff in addition to the pandemic, so things have progressed slowly this last year.
@@icecreamassassin3006 Well thank you for the update, much appreciated.
9:14 also sse has a much higher string limit, corrupted highly modded saves on le are a pain.
God it annoys me when i see people asking for le backports move the fuck on le sucks so much ass
Will this come to Xbox?
No, mods of this size require plugins like Skyrim script extender to expand what mod authors can do, and as such mods such as this are simply not able to be ported to Xbox
Too bad I got a potato PC so i gotta stick to LE
