Thank you for posting. I did not know I could cover oven racks if necessary.

This video was very informative and I attached it as part of my Food Studies 30 assignment (I made sure to provide credit) for my teacher to watch. As a non-Jew it is interesting to watch how you kosher for Pesach. It's nice to find quality content being produced. :-)

Not all Jews got thru these contortions. We certainly don't spend a fortune on aluminum foil and cover everything. Jews are not monolithic. There's a big difference between Ashkenazi, which this is, and Sephardi which I am and we're all still orthodox. If they don't want to eat at my house over Pesach, too bad, they're missing a treat.

Meira Yolanda Lettieri I understand that not every Jew follows this exact process and am finding the report a tad difficult to write partially due to that fact! I don’t want to misrepresent Jewish people in my assignment. I think the main point though of the assignment was to look up stuff like this (it’s not a topic I would have checked out had it not been for the assignment). I read somewhere that you should ask a Jew which Kosher certification labels they trust as some boards have slightly different standards. Even in this video the presenter said there was differing opinions on koshering glassware. I can’t cover everything about the subject (I read that volumes have been written about being Kosher) and hope that my end report will meet the Saskatchewan Grade 12 Circular Requirements (I have issues with perfectionism). I respect that everyone has a different set of beliefs but I personally believe that Jesus is the son of God and died on the cross for my sins. I am under a new covenant and don’t have to follow the old law! However I also believe that the Jews are God’s chosen people. :-)

Jesus was a Sephardic Jew. Go with that. It's what he did. See my comment and link.

I like the iron, it's much safer than using a blow torch !

according to the OU passover guide (2022) you cant kasher a glass electric stovetop, and must be covered with foil. (with caution so the glass does not crack)

Kashering an oven on the self-clean setting for Passover is inadmissible as it is merely a libun kal. Only a libun chamur of the oven is truly kosher for Pesach, and that will require a blow torch.

Is that iron thing a joke? Seriously that's just silly

      Not a joke but overkill.
      Not necessary.

Everything is a joke. No one could ever imagine these scenes, just upon reading the commandment not to eat yeasted bread.

10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. 12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. Baruch ata Adonai,
