    I've never been moved by any game as much as this one, Gregory's story in particular. It started as a wonderful, joyous view of the world from a baby's perspective, then brought a tear to my eye. This game is an absolute Tour de force and a near-perfect example of the videogame as art. I cannot recommend this enough. Bravo Annapurna!

    I really enjoyed this. Yes, very reminiscent of Gone Home and, just the same, I shed a few tears with this one.
    From time to time it feels good to play a game that is about the story and experience. This will be a favorite for a while.

    This game was amazing. Although it was short it after each persons story it made you stop and think about why they did what they did and how there connected to the storyline. It made you wanna learn more about the family curse and what’s going to happen to Edith and if she’s going to get taken by in the family curse too. This is most definitely one of my favorite games ever I would 100% recommend.

    Just played and finished it. It was alright but I like firewatch more. There are more things to do and more spaces to roam in firewatch. This games feels like a book or movie with very little interaction. I didn't feel like I was part of the story but more like an audience. In firewatch, I felt like I was the protagonist and my actions has consequences.

    Can anyone help me understand Mollys death? I am waaaaaay too dumb to get it. Was a murderer the "monster"? Was her hunger the "monster"? Was there an actual monster? Something else? I love that section sooo much, so many chills at the end, yet I do not understand it

    • @Wolfsheim23
      @Wolfsheim23 7 років тому

      She was killed by a snake bite I think. She might have had a dream of the experience of being all the animals that led to her being the snake that eventually got in the house and bit her? Which in all reality these people would never get time to write about how they died but it's kinda more of a fantasy or Poem. It's full of Allegory and beautifully done. It makes death almost a happy thing.

    • @GuitarManFromJupiter
      @GuitarManFromJupiter 7 років тому +1

      it makes alot of sense, both the toothpaste or the snake. Either way poison and hallucination. I guess I was looking at more of a literal "monster" as an answer and was blinded from the most rational answer. Thanks for explaining it

    • @13_faces
      @13_faces 6 років тому +1

      It was poisoning from the toothpaste and the hollyberries, causing hallucinations and inevitably her death.

    • @SuperBeth1001
      @SuperBeth1001 5 років тому +2

      Kekles I’m pretty sure she poisoned herself, a combination of old gerbil food, toothpaste and those holly berries. She starts off the journal entry saying “I’ll be gone soon but I need to tell you what happened” or something like that, which makes me think she knows she was feeling unwell and then started hallucinating. She was also locked in her bedroom and trying to/asking her mum if she could come out now at the start. So seems to me like she had a slow, food related death locked in there! Either way, I hated that story. It gave me the creeps XD

    • @AnnekeOosterink

      For me it was. I enjoyed looking at all the little details I missed, the titles of books in every room, the cookbooks in the kitchen, the books on Norse mythology in Edie's room, the family photos scattered throughout the house, the little notes and obituary for one of the family members on the fridge, the bottles of medication on the dining table, the garden plots for each of the children, the newspaper clippings that reveal little things (like how Edith's father died) etc.
      All those things are there to find and you can piece together small bits of the story from those. You can infer Sam's style of raising his children, that he was probably pretty strict, and that he was in the military. None of that is told to you, but from the children's schedule, their bedroom, his bedroom and all the mementos and decorations in them you get a pretty good idea.
      But I love walking sims and piecing stories together and finding little details that help me doing that. So ymmv.

    This is probably one of the biggest let downs I've ever experienced playing a game. Nothing is answered, you don't find out anything meaningful about the family, you don't find out how the sister actually died, you don't find out what happened to Milton or why there is a supposed curse on the family.
    I expected there to be a shocking revelation about what happened to Milton as the big reveal to tie everything together, but you get nothing. And just as you're about to get answers about the family curse, that sequence ends.
    The entire game ends with a weird, cringe birthing scene which freaked me out.
    My wife and I got done with the game and were like, "Wait, what, that's it? Wow, this is so disappointing."
    I don't understand all the people saying they were moved or started crying or whatever. I wanted to throw my controller at the TV, that's how badly this game ends.

    • @AnnekeOosterink
      @AnnekeOosterink 4 роки тому +3

      You might find meaning from the video about the villain of Edith Finch. It explains what happened.
      But the point of the game (or one of the points) is unreliable narration, you are not supposed to get any definitive answers, but you are given enough clues to figure out what happened. Or make a pretty good guess anyway.
