    8 minute video and so clean in interpretation and making things easy to understand unreal engine 5 here we come!!!! Can't wait to see how simplistic your tutorials would be would be nice to have tutorials that actually explain why you did this and why you did that!!!! 1st VOD lets gooooooooooo!!!

    Thanks for the video and good luck with the channel! It's scary how well youtube algorithms work. I just started learning UE for linear content creation. I work in advertising industry and want to expand my toolset beyond offline DCC like Houdini, C4D etc. And your video just popped up) If it will be in scope of your channel it would be very interesting to see episode of about using game engines for filmmaking, virtual production and related stuff.

      Welcome aboard! I was always interested in what UE has to offer on the virtual production side. I will keep this in mind and hopefully be knowledgeable enough to make some content in the future.

    I want to use UE5 with a full stylized low poly game. From characters to assets and Environment. My Idea here is that all the assets and textures and animations will use very very little resources because they will all be low poly and small textures - so I can use without losing much performance all the new light features like lumen. Basically making the low poly art look very good because of the unreal engine. It seems to be a good idea, I dont know yet, maybe Im missing something here. But I used to do some stuff for VRChat in Unity and I nkow for a fact you cant do the same quality like you can do in UE, aat least not as an newbie with only a limited time per day (full time working, game dev only like 12h in a week).
    What do oyu think ? I also used Godot for a couple of days and while it was the most"newb frendly" engine to use and understand for me, it lacked a lot of 3D features that even unity had. + I dont want to code and prefer visual scripting like UE blueprints or Unitys visual scipting plug in

    Hi, nice video :)
    I agree that if you want AAA realistic quality you need Unreal. Most of the games in the market does not need super realistic graphics or they are stylized. If you want to work with a big Game Dev company I would recommend Unreal, but for everything else Unity. I worked with both and I love Unity when I need to build to many platform or AR / VR.
    A lot of the game dev students have laptops and Unreal is a beast, you need a very good Gamer laptop/PC and lot of SSD drive space. Unity project needs much less space and power.
    A lot of Unreal users dont know how to optimize their games ... I played a horror game made in Unreal and I was with my player in a closed area so there was not much to render, and I had 1080p 32 FPS. You need to be very good to make a good, PLAYABLE game with Unreal.

      Thank you so much for watching!
      The primary reason that I wanted to create a UE5 focused channel is because through out my AAA game dev job searching journey I realized the importance of Unreal Engine in the industry and how little content it has on UA-cam compare to Unity or even Godot believe it or not. So I wanted to create useful content to the up and coming developers so they can have a smoother road to AAA or even their own indie.
      Check out my new video that just went public!

    I was just about to start learning ue 5 today and i even bought a course for blueprint. Is blueprint enough for a small story horror game cus i dont think its something that complicated? (Example: Resident Evil Village type game) Amazing video btw, hope the algorithm pushes this video to the surface!

    • @SirPixelton

      I can do a lot with blueprint, a simple first person horror game with interactable and gun mechanics are all do able with blueprint. I encourage beginners to learn through blueprint for the first time as well, which is why I am going to release a series of tutorials to go through the basics in the future.

    If you want to start game development this year, start with Unity. Learning C# is not difficult, and coding C# in Unity is not that tough either. After about a year, you will be quite at home. Then, tackle the Unreal Engine using blueprints and learn C++ as you go along. This way, you'll have the best of both worlds in a few years.

    • @KenlieroGames
      @KenlieroGames 23 дні тому +1

      I agree. Even I had some experience before, but when I "restarted" making games with an actual engine. I started with Unity, before moving to UE. Starting with UE would of been too big step right away, even when I had previously been coding game 20 years ago with pascal.

    • @myxsys
      @myxsys 22 дні тому

      I wouldn't recommend switching engines. Just focus on one. It takes a long time to master the fundamentals and kinks of each. As someone who has spent a long time learning Unreal, I would recommend Unity primarily due to better performance if you want your game to run on lower spec hardware.

    • @KenlieroGames
      @KenlieroGames 21 день тому

      @@myxsys If you have previous experience from coding, you can master unity very quickly.

    if i have about around 9 months experience in Unreal Engine, if i will want to switch to Unity will be this much easier and will learn it way faster than i was starting with Unreal?

    • @SirPixelton
      @SirPixelton  22 дні тому

      If your 9 month experience includes C++ programming, then your transition to Unity and its C# language shouldn't be a problem. With that being said, even without programming experience, Unity is still very friendly for new comers due to its massive supply of educational content online.

    Hello sir pixelton I'm a fellow unreal dev. I'm working on a FPS multiplayer setup where the character has two mesh one for arms and one for full body, I found so many problems in integrating a weapon system with this setup like weapons not changing properly in sync with other client and all that. so could you make a tutorial on that along the way please.

    • @SirPixelton
      @SirPixelton  25 днів тому +2

      If I’m understanding it correctly, you are using the arms for client side render, and the whole body for server side replication?
      The replication system is definitely something I will go over in the future. Welcome aboard and thank you for your comment!

    As someone who started learning game development in Unity and didn't know a single line of Coding, I can share that it is not true that Unity is a good starting point. Unity is only usable if you already know how to make games, particularly using coding. Unreal Engine is far better for beginners. You don't have to know coding and the blueprint system is easy to learn. Using Unreal, not only will you be able to begin quickly but you can get prototypes done quickly also.

    • @SirPixelton
      @SirPixelton  22 дні тому

      That's a good prospective. The reason I thought Unity would be a better entry is due to the huge amount of educational content available online and it has a way better official documentation compare to Unreal Engine.

    • @kellowattentertainment
      @kellowattentertainment 22 дні тому

      @@SirPixelton It’s important not to be misled by the apparent abundance of educational material for Unity’s Game Engine. A critical issue is that much of Unity's educational content is tied to specific engine versions. From my experience, educational materials for older versions of Unity are often incompatible with newer versions due to significant changes in the engine. This makes it challenging to leverage existing resources for newer projects.
      In contrast, Unreal Engine stands out for its consistency. While the engine receives updates and improvements, the foundational mechanics remain largely unchanged. This means that tutorials and educational materials created for Unreal Engine 4, even as far back as six years ago, are still applicable to the latest version of Unreal Engine. This is not the case with Unity, where core features and systems frequently undergo substantial changes between versions.
      Furthermore, many of Unity's original content creators who produced high-quality tutorials have ceased creating new materials, leaving gaps in up-to-date resources. Meanwhile, Unreal Engine continues to maintain a wealth of consistent and relevant educational material across its versions, making it a more reliable option for developers looking for long-term usability and learning resources.

      at the end of the day, game engines are just tools, there is one that is better at something compare to others, but ultimately is the developer that make the magic happens. I personally like Godot a lot, the in-engine documentation is the greatest thing in the world.

    •  25 днів тому +4

      @@SirPixelton I see your point, but I have to disagree, unreal games in the past few years are just a blurry mess and unoptimized, it is unacceptable a game not running at 4k 120fps in a 4090. Unity CEOs, just care about their shareholders. Only left is open source, and the only open source that isn't a bunch of config mess is Godot. I really hope Godot makes a big impact for unreal and unity be about games again.

    • @SirPixelton
