Hi guys I'm really hoping to get more videos out again instead of just stream vods. There is still a lot left to discuss with regard to pally so this will likely be part 1 of a series. Thanks for all your support over the years, this youtube channel/community is small but its my most cherished asset that im really proud of so thanks for making this a reality for me..talk to u guys later
Part 1 is awesome, im lvling one atm almost 41 to start the grind, it would be awesome if u could talk a bit about the starting weaps and shields that we could look at 41 like a entry lvl gear for aoe farming, flurry axe asap but what about the rest? Ty for your time sir and gl, your content is one of the best in classic and im glad its not just a "bwl items are busted"
If Paladin AOE farming is about reflect damage, then would a Paladin + Druid healer AOE farm be good with druid thorns? How big of a pack could you pull like that?
4.5 years later and I just wanna thank you for making this. The casual way that you break it down works so well for me. I'm getting into Classic after years away from WoW (I started in late TBC) and trying to make a Prot Pally for tanking has been very discouraging. I realize now that I won't be able to put it all together so early and I need to level as RET and then swap over, and you've explained the best way to do that. I appreciate such a chill and practical guide. Got my sub!
Kargoz man you've made my 2020 so far. I just hit 51 on my paladin, AoE farming, I'm getting nub gains since I started working out again and intermittent fasting... you helped more than you could know dude, thanks.
Honestly I wish there were more guides JUST like this one that were filled with great information with this "bare bones" sort of setup. Typically, when I watch guides I usually get way to distracted by the corny jokes, the background music that is usually to loud, all the animations and cuts, etc etc... it just makes it hard to focus on the information being shared. So I seriously appreciate this guide a lot thank you so much!
This is great. thanks for breaking down the talents and explaining why you choose the ones that you do and what purpose they have. You always have such informative and fun guides to learn by . looking forward to part 2 !
FYI, if you read the skill it specificly says you get more mana by keeping SoW active on yourself for melee attacks, but if you judge the target it also affects spells.
Your vids inspired me to pick my paladin back up after dropping the char after the first couple weeks at lvl33. Loving the solo aoe leveling even though it can be frustrating at times on a high pop pvp server. Prices of Flurry Axe on my server range from 6-700g+ but one item recommendation I have for new 41s trying the build out is Mug O' Hurt (~5g). 1.5 speed Mace that also has a chance to daze on hit is helpful while fighting humanoids that run or when getting a big pack together and trying to avoid getting dazed yourself. Only a few more levels to 60 then I will get my warlock main to farm the rest of the gold needed for Flurry Axe
I like it. I realy want to learn how to paladin. What i miss most is how to tank as a paladin. How can you hold aggro against all out dpsers? Shall i sanct them all before the pull? How to keep the boss standing on you and not running for the dps or the healer? Keep in mind that i'm in leveling stage right now. Means i'm talking dungeons without the perfect gear. No enchants. Just plain leveling.
Sweet this is exactly what I wanted/needed to hear. With classic relaunch, I got a couple of newbie friends (to classic classic) and I was wondering what class to go to help them see the game best, im gonna be lvling with them. One playing mage one playing Lock. I couldnt decide between druid, warrior, pally or priest. You saying what you said about pallys being best to boost friends just sold me
Thank you for this guide, I am currently leveling my paladin and this guide has been very helpful. I would love to see a more in depth guide on prot pally in a part 2.
Humans spin when SoC procs, too. Great video. I 100% agree with you on sit-proc'n. It does work....but it's not efficient, at all. You lose far too much life, before you can even drop one reck-bomb.
Just learned so much about how to AOE Pally. I was intimidated to try as a Wow Classic noob, but this gave me enough good solid info that I love playing this build. You've earned my subscription today.
You're great at articulating your sentences and keeping the commentary interesting. This is the first video of your's I've watched but I definitely feel you deserve the sub.
Seal of command judgement is also considered a melee attack for the sake of crit meaning it will deal 2x and crit based on melee crit. Another reason to use higher ranks. Because a stunned crit is 4x dmg
Been rocking out with a deep holy/prot build. With current content on farm for our guild, acquiring neat and niche pieces has been easy. Looking forward to the prot grind future.choosing between the two got too exspensive. It’s just too much fun not to dive into prot aoe grinding. GGs mate nice guide
Nice guide! I usually get first 13 in Retritubion ( SoC + movement speed ), then 11 holy ( str, SoR and consecrate because I swal twist a lot and I apply SoR all the time ), and then I usually go 8 prot to get 3% hit, it sure slows my build but I honestly think getting 3% hit at lvl 40ish boost my leveling up to 60 because I can fight mobs at my lvl, or 1 lvl higher or so, without missing too much
Really enjoyed this, id love to see it from a healer perspective, AKA AOE grind out in the world and be a healing Goddess in dungeons. I did a leveling path where the first 13 are all ret for SOC and POJ, and then go all holy after that.
14:20 "Some ppl like to go glass canon, full yolo, zug zug all day" Hahaha ive never heard this before. Describes perfectly how i play ret in retail pvp -full meathead mode. Made me LOL. Gg man. Great vid to watch if ur leveling a prot paladin which im doing slowly, alresdy have a ret main. Never enoigh paladins.
Itemization would be great...i only know prot pallys from 2.4.3 tbc where u go with spelldmg gear and weapon. Would be interesting to know if this is the case in vanilla to.
Im using Mostly lawbringer to farm ZF graveyards. 5.5k mana and lots of healing, unfortunately not alot of spellpower since I don't have judgment peices but it works.
What do you think of pallytime videos? I think hes been spot on and gets hate for no reason. He brings up topics such as wisdom and weapon speed that others claim arent correct even though hes done extensive research.
In a full raid like mc id say prot is a wasted spot, but ony and some world bosses it works. A pally with aq gear can tank zg and thats the whole story.
If you are not min maxing there is no such thing as "a wasted spot". Not everyone is aiming to clear MC in 30 minutes, some people just wanna have fun, while still clearing the raid with no issues.
Been using the proc of uther's strength in my rotation... if it procs and i'm below 75-80% health, i'll cast flash of light. Usually if I time it right, the heal goes off just before the shield breaks or sometimes just after but usually spiritual focus allows me to finish casting.
Wish there was a better image of the final talent build. Kinda hard to follow when jumping around in conversation. Overall great guide and I wanna try, but I gotta get the talents down
If you dont care about tanking in general, but only want to AoE grind, beeing holy is actually viable. I like having holy shock to pull and do instant heal. Also beeing able to do a free crit holy light on yourself makes it able to take on lots of mobs at a time. Sure you miss out on blessing of sanc (it is however possible to go holy but skipping holy shock and go for sanc instead). If you are a healer in raids this saves you 100 gold extra per week when you dont have to respec. Now I do have massivly better gear than the paladin in this video so it isnt really comparable, but I am able to take on a HUGE number of mobs at a time. My guildies love me for my boosting potential. And I make lots of gold (even though I dont charge guildies ofc).
Kargoz, my man, we suspected this was gonna be a scuffed paladin guide, but you clapped it! Clapped this guide's cheeks! You totally max-maxed this twink's gear with fiery Fiery war axe, Fiery Flurry axe and skull flame shield. I wouldn't expect most casuals, raid loggers, noobs, or hardcore players to go full zug-zug as well as you go full zug-zug. Am I using the lingo correctly? Let's do some hugeee death rolling again soon, goldfish!
Liked and subbed, this video was great :) I watched a few of your videos today of your Pally leveling and found it amazing! I'm a 47 Pally now, straight retribution slowly getting towards Consecration but man I just feel so weak, take like a full minute to kill a mob and if its more than 3 I'm just dead. Might have to switch to this build because prot/holy just feels so much better. I'm a bit concerned about not having great gear because it's my first character and I can't really afford all the consumables and best gear though. Do you think it would be worth sticking with Retri to get to 60 fastest? Or can I do this build and quest to 60 faster. thanks bro!
Can you make a list of items that we should be on the lookout for for our pallys? For those of us that have the gold for our alt. That way we can have the best possible time during the leveling process :D
I chose a paladin for healing and never really enjoyed or played ret or prot vanilla palladin , i must say if you love healing its such a fun class , best buffs in the game , able to ignore raid mechanics , able to bop people , massive dispel , no hate on priests but pallies are the chad healers of vanilla
I find healing quite boring honestly, I still heal when needed but tanking is much more challenging, and much more fun, both soloing or group. Retri is also much more challenging if you tryhard to do some decent damage, and much more fun in pvp. To each his own I guess!
Nice guide! I wonder about consumables and items you could use for leveling without impacting gold too much. Grenades come to my mind, for small damage boost and CC. What about crushing blows? Maybe there are some items that would help with that whilst leveling? Going for pure plate with Str + Sta could be expensive.
Cheap potions, a good updated 2 hand weapon, bandages. Double gathering professions. At 41 go for AoE grind spec. You are gonna level super smoothly and float in gold. I ended up with way over 1k gold at 60. Don't bother too much about buying gear, you can get plenty in dungeons since you can heal, tank or dps.
The armor potions would be best, 450 armor is pretty good for super cheap, major troll's blood helps and goes for low gold. Also, elixir of agility, greater mana potions and elixir of fortitude. All of the prices are climbing at BWL hype. Of course, you have to have a mithril or thorium shield spike and appropriate enchants before any of these.
Paladins talents were really dire in vanilla, compare it to the greatly fleshed out and optimized warrior tree, and you can see just how bad it was. There's... redoubt required you to be crit to actually work, and then there's reckoning, same thing there.
We got a prot pally in my Guild in SoM... Dude gets INSTA threat, and can hold like 20fing whelps all at once, meanwhile, warriors can't even keep 6-7 on em.
