I can see where she's coming from. Black people are constantly being overlooked and dismissed, as we've seen with Nia on this show. Forgetting a costume, not being on time with the counts, etc. would give Camryn's teammates and audience yet another chance to keep her in the back and say "She's not that important."
I love laurieann!!!! She is an amazing coach!! She has worked with the best and she didn’t get to be the best by being nice when you mess up!! The black girl comment was for us black girls😉. If you didn’t get it it’s cause your not a black girl. On another note it’s funny how basketball and football coaches get praised for this kind of coaching but laurieann has the same style and is characterized as to harsh 🤔😒. Oh well people can have there negative opinions about her but you can never take away her success in her industry. Periodt
I love her attitude. Her Intensity is so captivating. She is like a leopard in the jungle. Her black girl wisdom went over the heads of some viewers, but for those who know, know.
I'm Indian, but as a POC, I completely agree with Laurieann. As a minority, I definitely agree that people of color are stereotyped, and sidelined more, especially in the entertainment industry, even when it comes to honest mistakes like forgetting a costume. People are quick to make assumptions, judge, and form racist opinions about us when honest mistakes happen. Though this isn't right, the entertainment industry isn't righteous by any means. As a former competitive dancer, if I forgot my costume, my dance teacher would've killed me.
@@TheAmazingHoho576this conversation is obviously making you uncomfortable and angry why are you reiterating yourself into it? Attitude has nothing to do with this a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" life adage isn't going to change a reality that Cameron needed to hear that.
@@likhwezititus It makes me angry because this mindset is what hinders you US Americans from leaving the past behind. Unfortunately, your country has a lot of racial tensions and intergenerational trauma. Things were improving with my man Obama but with Trump it became a disaster. If you all simply decided to stop making race a big deal, racial tensions in the US would decrease SUBSTANTIALLY. For example, in Venezuela, even though there are many problems, racial tensions aren't one of them, because there's very few people who make race a big deal. So basically: making everything about race doesn't help ANYBODY.
@@TheAmazingHoho576 first I'm not American and I would argue that there is race in a lot of things because there is BIAS in everything. "Just stop talking about race" won't particularly help. Leaving the past behind isn't an awsner and shouldn't be a choice considering sundown cities in the US still exist and lynching is legal in Mississippi. In Germany you won't walk ten minutes without seeing a homage or remembrance for the Jews. In America they refuse to acknowledge or even speak about it because they don't want to be uncomfortable. For example one sentence "don't you be the only black girl who forgets her costume" made alot of ppl in this comments go on an emotional spiral. Ignoring race or acting like it doesn't exist won't fix anything. I'm French and our government and people SWEAR they don't see colour but the three generations of African immigrants behind including myself would disagree, luckily I relocated with my husband now and we are happier but being colorblind or acting like reality exist won't save America. Also if you're not American why should American racial tensions make you this upset? Genuinely curious.
@@likhwezititus You're French? First off, I commend your English. Secondly, the thing is, you ALSO come from a society where race is a big thing. With all the African immigration into France, there's been a lot of debate as to who is French. There are also racial tensions between North African / black immigrants and some white French people. You only need to look at Le Pen's comments on the French national football team to know that France too is a controversial place for race. My point is that, yes, we all have biases, but holding on to the "race card" is stopping both the US and France from becoming better societies. Imagine if US Americans didn't care about race; would there be racial tensions? Not really. Same thing with France: how many problems would be avoided if race wasn't a big issue? I'm not US American, but as an American (from the American continent), the US has a HUGE influence in my life. Most of all, through songs, movies, and tv shows. As a result, I am exposed to US American culture, and seeing them get so hung up on something so trivial makes me angry. Like, why do you hate others because they are black? Why do you attack someone because he is white? You get what I mean? It's so stupid, and unfortunately A LOT of people suffer for no reason because of it.
I think, what the people are missing out, is that Laurieann is treating them as professionals. She’s not rude for the show. They’re teenagers, not children anymore. If they want to succeed in the dance industry, as professional dancers, they shouldn’t be overly dependent on their mothers. Abby and Laurieann are different professional choreographers / dance teachers. People should stop comparing them.
I love Laurieann. Shes passionate thats why shes so tough. And the moms are intimidated and dont understand the level of professionalism and success Laurieann has. Theyre like 15 y.o girls. And the sad thing is, that there daughters seem more mature than them.
But to be honest everything Laurieann says is true in the professional world. These girls were on this show as 'professionals' in the real world, if you forget your costume you would get kicked off the production.
Years ago I was filming a commercial and the only black actress was late to set. The director asked the PA where she was and he said she was running behind. The director rolled his eyes and said “naturally.” I was just starting out and too scared to say anything. But THAT is why Laurieann spoke to Camryn sister to sister.
@Mac Weilman Why are you assuming it's about race? What happens if it's about her personality, or her tendencies, or traffic, etc? You US Americans ALWAYS assume it's race...
@@TheAmazingHoho576 I get that you dislike when people pull the "race card" when its unnecessary but sorry to break it to you.. its necessary in this situation. If you know nothing about the dance industry then I suggest you don't speak on if there is "racism" within it or not.
@@sakaylawilliams7063 Are you crazy? In the original comment, a woman was late and the director said "naturally". Immediately @Mac Weliman assumed it was because the woman was black, without taking into account the woman's personality, habits, traffic that day, etc, which is ridiculous. I'm just pointing out that assuming everything about race is really stupid, because 90% of the time it's not the case. In @Mac Weliman's comment, it's very unlikely it was because the woman was black, but because he is a US American, OBVIOUSLY he assumes it's a racist thing.... which is a stupid mindset.
Now if this was under different circumstances in a professional setting were camryn forget her dress/materials she would’ve been out. Laurieann was being realistic you have to come prepared.
When I was in dance my teacher used to do the exact same thing. She would make you do gravity pull for 45 minutes straight if you weren't prepared for class nevermind a competition.

I think Kalani is a really good team leader because she speaks up to their teacher and she defended Camryn.
Yeah your right but or I saw it wrong but Kalani looked like she was bin crying (sorry for bad spelling my first language is not English)
She didn’t need to bring race into this... “Don’t be the only black girl on this team to forget her costume”
I can see where she's coming from. Black people are constantly being overlooked and dismissed, as we've seen with Nia on this show. Forgetting a costume, not being on time with the counts, etc. would give Camryn's teammates and audience yet another chance to keep her in the back and say "She's not that important."
Yah but if it was abby saying that the entire comment section would be defending her and get mad at abby
But being black can have a big part in it because black people in general do have a harder time.
Daisy Lopez that’s because abby is a raging racist lol
What about Nia,she’s black too
That comment Laurie made to that girl about her dress was EVERYTHING. SISTA TO SISTA... BLACK GIRLS KNOW WHAT SHE MEANT
Periodt
*period.
abra819 she said it right Periodt (it’s a black thing)
EXAACCTTTLLYYYYYY
I love her attitude. Her Intensity is so captivating. She is like a leopard in the jungle. Her black girl wisdom went over the heads of some viewers, but for those who know, know.
T Fan some most of the viewers they didn’t get it
I'm Indian, but as a POC, I completely agree with Laurieann.
Blah blah blah. Victimize and project if you want, but just know that attitude does not reflect reality and will do you no good
@@TheAmazingHoho576this conversation is obviously making you uncomfortable and angry why are you reiterating yourself into it?
Laurieann:"Wait for it , wait for it, wait for it!"

Lauriean:"Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it!"
Sydney Mills 😂
I think, what the people are missing out, is that Laurieann is treating them as professionals. She’s not rude for the show. They’re teenagers, not children anymore. If they want to succeed in the dance industry, as professional dancers, they shouldn’t be overly dependent on their mothers. Abby and Laurieann are different professional choreographers / dance teachers. People should stop comparing them.
2:18 “THE JUDGES NEED TO BE INFECTED BY THIS VIRUS” Um since when is laurianne a psychic
And she predicted the future OwO
Wow that aged like fine wine 😂🤣😂😂😂
Giannas reaction went Laurianne started yelling “WAIT FOR IT”
I love Laurieann. Shes passionate thats why shes so tough. And the moms are intimidated and dont understand the level of professionalism and success Laurieann has. Theyre like 15 y.o girls. And the sad thing is, that there daughters seem more mature than them.
She was kinda rude to gia though
She wasn’t it’s tough love ma
Y’all say everything is rude stfu
nah u just soft
1:54 the little pose she took after her speech 😂😂
Camryn’s mom:I left her dress at home
Laurieann: wAiT wHaT?!
Laurieann again: wAiT wAiT wAiT wAit wAiT
Laurann is right if I left my practice or uniform at home I would be riding the bench ! Period! Responsibility & Accountability
Laurianne is a whole mood , she’s my spirit animal
Did y’all hear the bass they edited in there when she was like “wait wait wait wait for it?” 🤣
Laurieann predicted the future at 2:22
It feels weird watching this without a crown on Holly’s head and edits
If someone talked to my kid like that, they'd be on the floor.
J F youre kids aren’t gonna be raised correctly
J F ikr
Joshua Jaime Has more to do with being protective, not with 'raising'
No one would talk to my kid like that, because there is no way I would forget a costume for the most important dance my child was apart of.
she deserved it. She let the whole group down by not bringing her own dress.
*Sees new lifetime video suggestion in my notification* “Laurieann yells...”
.....what’s new, Lifetime?
But to be honest everything Laurieann says is true in the professional world. These girls were on this show as 'professionals' in the real world, if you forget your costume you would get kicked off the production.
LOL - I love how she says Thank You and does the turn 😂😂😂
Years ago I was filming a commercial and the only black actress was late to set. The director asked the PA where she was and he said she was running behind. The director rolled his eyes and said “naturally.” I was just starting out and too scared to say anything. But THAT is why Laurieann spoke to Camryn sister to sister.
This is honestly a perfect example of why Laurie Ann said what she said to Camryn.
Nia's face when Laurieann stood beside her 😂😂😂
I bet she won't ever forget her dress or costume again. Laurieanne nailed it.
Huge learning opportunity for Camryn 🙏🏽
1:56
Nia's face tho
😂😂😂😂😂
0:36 lmao nia’s like “ wtf “ 😭
Legend has it, Lauriean doesn’t stop saying “wait a minute” up until today..
Now if this was under different circumstances in a professional setting were camryn forget her dress/materials she would’ve been out. Laurieann was being realistic you have to come prepared.
Legends say they are still waiting
never watched this show but i come back to this clip every year LOL
Nia’s face is me when the teacher is telling us a serious story and I’m trying not to laugh while me and my friend are staining into each other’s eyes
Legend says she’s still saying wait for it.
**5 Hours Later**
Laurieann: WAIT FOR IT x10
When I was in dance my teacher used to do the exact same thing. She would make you do gravity pull for 45 minutes straight if you weren't prepared for class nevermind a competition.
I hope there’s a season 9 I actually loved this part
Destiny King u have a stalker she’s always replying to u
Leilatjuh ``Hamstertjuh`` leave her alone
Leilatjuh ``Hamstertjuh`` ur so stupid like I can’t argue with stupidity and u know darn well she’s a “she” also it wasn’t 5 to 6 months ago clearly u suffer memory loss and what hole was I in?? Last time I checked I wasn’t the one who’s always coming out of no where commenting on the poor girl comment 24/7 u need help maybe ur mom should take away ur phone
Y'all so pressed for nothing whatsoever
ShaunMhm u don’t understand that’s why
She could've said "don't be the only girl that forgets your costume" instead of the only "BLACK girl", like I don't get why that was necessary
Sarena S. Because a lot of people think that the black people are the ones always forgetting things.
Sarena S. Q
It makes perfect sense! If you don't get it, it doesn't apply to you
Sarena S. If your a black women you would understand I promise
@@ziondeleya3992 exactly
Camryn: *forgets costume*.
_Laurianne_ : *HOW DO YOU FORGET YOUR GLOVE WHEN YOU’RE AT THE WORLD SERIES* 👏🏻😡
I agree with Laurieann, it’s your career. When I was in high school and college, I was in band. There was no way I could perform, if I forgot my trombone🤷🏾♂️.
That little pose she did by Nia was cute. I giggle every time!
I would watch a spin-off, starring Laurie-Ann.
1:52 NIA IN THIS HOLE SITUATION IS ME LMAOOO
Laurieann is an ICON period
I feel so bad for Brynn here she looks terrified 😂😅
No ones gonna talk about jills face at 2:41 😂😂
I love Laurieann and how she was able to pass the message
Brynn and Nia's face had me rolling.
camryn needed to hear that...
She needed to hear that 🗣
And so did her mother and Nia. Certain things just need to be said out loud. Non blacks won't understand the love that was just poured into/into Camryn.
y'all can be mad at laurieann but she speaking straight facts black people never get a second chance in this society we always have to be 3x better just to be tolerated
Nia the whole video: 👁 u 👁
the part with laurianne standing beside nia and nia trying not to laugh is sending me 💀💀💀
