The back hair on my neck stood up this morning when I saw "Painting by Dusan" and could not wait for the day to end so I could sit end enjoy. The day did not end. lol It is always mesmerizing to watch you work, move the paint and create beautiful art. "Look on the right,,, I'm there splashing in the water. What !? you don't see me? "I exclaimed. It's because the waves took me off the canvas. ;) Thank you for taking me with you on this beautiful journey.

Why always a brown canvas ? Any reason, or just a preference. Would like to know. Also, do you dilute your oil paint with linseed oil or turpentine, or use directly from the tube. By the way, awesome work, as usual.
Just to seal the surface and to have a colour to start on rather than white. No dilution nor turpentine, just as from the tube, then I mix into colours that I need.
Curious to know whether you bought yr palette knife from an art shop or from a hardware shop. My son just told me tt my art materials are arriving tooodaayyy😂😂♥️♥️For this painting, I could ALMOST see the brightness of the setting sun, feel its warmth, see the waves rippling in n feel the darkness wrapping around me as I stand on that almost deserted beach. PS. I squinted my eyes n looked at yr painting N the picture did become REAL!!😂😂😂😂♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanks Grace. They are just cheap palette knives either from discount stores or art shops. Best thing to do is to get a few different sizes and see which one suits your hand the best.

But it’s very difficult technique but I try a little by little. By the way how much time do you spend on one painting ❓
Is the oil paint quite thick? Otherwise, how do you lay a line of white onto the edge of something black without them mixing? This one is particularly beautiful.❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, I use either back or grey acrylic paint as a base layer, starting colour. Mainly to seal the painting surface and also just to not start on white.
It's either a worn down small palette knife or a home made liner brush ( from old handle, drilled hole, glued in some synthetic bristle from bigger brush )
It's a shame you need to add people to these scenes. The people don't add anything special and they take away the attention of the viewer. The scene would be better without people.
Really, the magnificence of Nature is enough in itself but the adding of people in Dusan art is always a kind and sweet testimony of our nowadays way of life and would perhaps move the hart of people in the future like I am in front of classic art 🤗

Thanks Kimiyo, I tend to catch it on the same day unless I run out of time / steam. Smaller ones take about 3-5 hours and then go on from there.
