I think using smaller plows on big tractor allows you to plow a lot deeper, and some of the smaller implements can get through his gates a little easier ❤❤ love those old IH great tractors😊😊
Trying to understand the tiny implements on 145 and 160 hp tractors. We had a 1468 and ran either 7 bottom x 16 inch or 6 furrow vari-width that could go out to 6 x 22 inch (?). Also used it on a 32 foot vibrashank, which was a wonderful piece of equipment. Nice to hear this pair of tractors running in any case. The 14 will gain at least 20 hp if you chrome plate the exhaust stacks :-)
You can run in a higher gear and actually cover more ground sometimes using a big tractor with a slightly smaller plow and disk compared to using the biggest plow and disk possible for that size tractor .
@craigalston2208 if they were running 5 bottoms, I'd consider that plausible, but 145 hp could pull those little implements at about 20 mph lol. The 1468 would pull 6x18s at 6 mph which is as fast as you'd care to go if the field has any rocks. We had heavy clay and hills too. That's what the torque amplifier was for. Or one gear lower if really necessary.
What a wonderful sight of the tractor going up and down no computer nothing to electronic device to scratch your ass just total good driver
I've always like those models of IH... Bring back memories...
That 1566 isnt breaking a sweat pulling a 3 bottom , We pull 7/16"s with our 1466 its enough for it thou , Nice old tractors and good video !

Nice video. Nice landscape rolling hills of W.V. I from Ky. I know what it's like working hills baling hay and bush hogging.
That was a great video...👍
"NICE" Show of Red power fella's!
And what's sweet 1468!

There has to be some serious clay where they're at.
@@townes_van_zandt And the hills
He's struggling with the 3 bottom at the 1:30 mark.
Wet heavy clay pulls hard.

Don't know if I would have the courage to break that land on that slope. My luck with the first good rain all that soil would be in that bottom.
Grew up on River Farms, you learn how to do it LOL if not you were in some serious shit!!
What county wv I’m from Putnam
