Also, when you pop out any of the boards, take a damp cloth and wipe the edges. There is laser burn / carbon scoring to remove.
Yea, your fingers will be a little black.
I absolutely love the HotAC Terrain. Huge win for anyone looking to hit the ground running, worth the investment imo
1.0 set should have both small and large base. 2.0/2.5 set has small / medium / large bases. I'd be careful using these at a tournament because they aren't official cardboard. Granted, they may be more accurate than some of the official cardboard.
So glad you like them! It was no small feat getting it all together, but I'm thankful Derksen allowed me to work on this HotAC scenery kit (and brand it as a stand-alone game, which further separates it from FFG's IP). I think they minimize the amount of time and effort required to get into HotAC, which is a major bonus for folks who have time enough to play, but not time to be artsy-craftsy and figure out how to print, cut, and mount all of Derksen's original beautiful graphics.
Couple of notes:
Don't put the male rivet in when assembling the turrets. They'll lay flat on the table and have adequate interference fit if you use the female (larger) rivet by itself coming in from the top.
Also, I never thought about using gel pens. That's brilliant. I think I said dry-erase on the website but actual used some 'vis-a-vis' wet-erase markers because they were finer-tipped.
I would be cautious about using these (or at least publicly admitting to permitting them) in a tournament. Casual play, totally awesome. I mean, how else are you going to fly a winnebago in the game? But shoddy new tiles or not, FFG sets the rules for how their game is to be played in an official capacity.
Fun Easter egg: The hangar bays I designed to look like the bays from Homeworld, and they have little bay numbers in each hangar itself. One of which is a docking bay numbered as "416." As most old-time HotAC players know, Dockingbay416 was the website that Derksen had when he was first designing the module.
The only reason I admitted they could be used in tournament play is because AMG stated we could. They have printed out templates with missing arcs and stated, you can just print them at home and glue them on. So Far game I say.
@@ReconPaint Missing arcs? Oh my, I had no idea it was that bad. Well, awesome. Game on indeed!
@Alex and Kara Shrum yea the Tie whisper doesnt have the front arc only the bullseye. They have a fix or you can proxy. Other companies have created their own to sell as well
Soooooo coooooooool
Love that terrain! Having a set would be nice if bittersweet as 2nd edition killed xwing in my area.
Awesomeness!!! 😉👍 Epic!
that's a really interesting concept with the bases and the terrain looks cool
