Thanks Natalie good information to share with my daughter she's 14 started doing nails last year & within a year & watching ur videos she has leaned alot but she still have ways to go..
hey I’m 14 I started doing nails last year but I quit because I had bad product from amazon but I started again this year and I’ve really gotten better at it I have done my own set on my nails and I’m just starting on other people but I’m having trouble with pricing that’s why I’m here😅 but I support your daughter because I know the struggle as a starter I just wanted to say🙂
Honestly, charge what you feel is right. Time is money. If they want to go to the regular nail shops and get half assed nails while sitting for an hour let them. Just let your clients know ahead of time and charge a small let or cancellation fee because of those things happen you still can make some type of money from wasted time when you could’ve been doing something else.
Like u said u have to research the prices in your area. Young nails is telling us to charge $100 a set plus $5 per each extra product used. That would never work in my area because anyone can go to the mall n get a set for $30. Just look around in your area n see what others are charging. It’s also important to know your cost per service. You have to know how much your spending on products, if u have rent utilities etc. divide your monthly expenses by the amount of clients you served, that number is your cost per service. Make sure your charging more then your spending or what’s the point.
Actually, they say depending on the area, charge a base price and then charge an additional $5 or $10 for each nail art color used. One gel color is included in the set price. Remember, they are in California.
My prices would be just that. My prices. What people actually don’t understand is that they pay for my expertise, time and products. If people in my area charge a certain price, I’m going to charge what I’m going to charge. People always wanna pay the least amount for a service that is overloaded.
Triggered Latina -90’s girl- so true , I have even did a brides nail for free since she said that she couldn’t do the nails cause all her money finish on the wedding preparation but then while walking her out I saw her toes were done and I knew she paid cash for that elsewhere, she promised to pay me once she can but I don’t think I will get my money
Girl you are the only nail tech I appreciate with telling us every little thing in nails. You have a good heart, yo bless an most of all "yo a good gal!!! 🖒🖒🖒
I’m confident in my work but I’m embarrassed to charge 20$ per set because I’m scared people will say it’s too much since I’ve only been doing them 7 months . I get anxious before each set for some reason
This was great, as a new beginner nail tech I was having issue with pricing when people asked what I charged I had no idea what to tell them. My products aren't cheap either. I live in canada I use my teachers brand acrylic system and also the Coscelia polygel builder gel for gel nails. Right now I charge $25 full set due to me still learning this video helped a lot thank you nat !
Your so sweet ...your prices are fare , however it's $100 a hr work, you are worth it. No matter what your situation is..YOU ARE CLEAN , BONUS YOU SPEAK ENGLISH. You are a amazing person. F those other people.. Do you.
That's the reason why I rarely step foot in a salon because some ppl like myself have no one to watch the kiddos, hence the reason I started doing my own nails😊
I’m kinda new at doing nails and I’m confident in my nails and not having lifting but I do take a while to do a full set and that’s what stresses me out when pricing. Any tips?
Im in California it's expensive out here. I just had to start with that. I too take 2 and a half hours. Yesterday I kinda figured out what's taking long, is I'm so focused on lifting, I take the longest time nail preparing. So I cut that in half. I could recommend you to figure out what your talking so much time on, and try cutting that in half. That's what worked for me yesterday.
I love your pricing. You are good but you do keep it reasonable so the everyday person can afford to have pretty nails that last. Your area has A LOT to do with pricing. It depends on the cost of living in your area. But I do think that some places take advantage of high pricing. I cannot see paying $120 for a basic set. After all, they are just fingernails you know? I know of some that basically set their schedules to make $150 an hour minimum plus tips and expect tips to be 20% or more. Its fingernails, not a attorney or a doctor. Keep your pricing reasonable and do quality work and you will always have a decent career. Especially when retaining your clientele. When you retain your clientele and dont have constant openings you know you are doing it right. I love your outlook on everything. With you being as young as you are, you dont always see your work ethic. Its refreshing to see it. Your parents raised you right.
I started about 5 months ago and I've been doing my fam's nails (for free) I recently did some of my neighbors and I didn't charge but expected a tip or something but no lol. Is it just me that can't charge or don't know how to charge? I also do makeup but that is a whole different story. I got my prices and no problem charging lol.
Nat honey what area are you in 🤣 I need to come see you for my birthday so you can have me looking great 😂❤️ thank you for this video though I've been dying for you to post your price list. I can't wait to start my journey 😍
This was an EXTREMELY Helpful video! I JUST Graduated Here in Florida. And like you, i Will NEVER do another pedi hahaha! But Thank you SO SO much for this video. It Really helped me So much!💜💜💜
In my area it’s so expensive, so when I started I charged like 50-40% less than what the prices are here I need to add in cancellation fees now cause people just take advantage of my time, and I agree about kids and extra People around, and then the kids are walking and touching my f$#* stuff 😆

I've watched sooo many of your videos and always share them when others ask for a good nail tech for those wanting to learn, but this video made me adore you so much more 💓👏🏽🥰 sharing all of this information, you didn't have to do. Honestly all your sets are 🔥🔥 so I'd say with your talent you don't charge enough. Awesome 🙌🏽
Definitely keep in mind schooling as well. If you complete schooling, divide the cost of school per hour--then multiply that by however long it takes you to do a full set. then add S20
When i used to get my nails done, i used to pay $40 for sets and $25 for fill ins. I did not have to worry about design charge because most shops around my area included full set design in their price and ones that did not, i just got plain color and go my way.
Wow... Where do u live? I'm in a medium sized town. Full sets of acrylic average about $40 with and extra $10 for French manicure. Designs start... START at $20, and that's for a basic design. My last professional set cost me $70, not including tip, for medium length acrylics with hand drawn Valentine's design on each nail... And that was 10 years ago lol
Thanks, Natali! This video is just what I needed. I am starting out and I'm slow but I need the practice to get faster. I was on the fence about changing but I spend money on quality products like OPI, CND and Young Nails. I need the money to purchase more products and to find a cheap booth rental. Thanks so much for posting this.
Thank u for making this video girl!! Its really helpful!! I have a question how long does it take u to do a set? Thanks for sharing I love ur videos!!😉😘😍xoxoxo
You are always so informative and kind, your channel and information is always so helpful to me, i enjoy every video and I definitely always learn something new every time. Thank you so much for being you! 💖
Loved this video! I just graduated Nail School about a month or so ago, and I’m having a hard time deciding my prices. And I actually have a question.. I am a beginner, however I do a pretty good job so far.. and I don’t just do regular sets with polish. I like doing the encapsulating, and ombrés, basically everything that is so “in” right now, etc.. But my question is, what do you do if most of your clients nails are staying on great with minimal lifting and no breaks.. but then you have a others who seem to break or their entire nail is pooping off, sometimes several, and I’m fixing them for free? Bc at first I was thinking it’s my fault, bc I am a beginner, but now I’m starting to wonder if they are just being too rough on their nails, their body produces extra oils, etc, bc the majority of my clients have no problems at all. Bc it does take more time to start the process all over again on one or two nails when your supposed to just be doing a fill. I’m still learning so my prices are fairly cheap and reasonable and I guess I’m just not confident enough yet to say, well if your nails are broken or coming off I’m going to charge you for having to fix them!🤷♀️ But thank you so much for this very detailed video! All of your videos are so informative and I greatly appreciate them Natalie! 💗💗💗
Personally I think you should guarantee your work for x amount of time. Usually 2 weeks. Maybe if you have a problem client, maybe suggesting a different product? Gel vs acrylic etc. Make sure your prep work is sound. Use like Young nails protein bond. Use 2 coats of it for heavy lifters. See if that helps. I'm just a DYI'R but that's what I get out of all the nail techs I watch and have followed that advice and dont have any lifting issues. Of course you will always get the occasional broken nail when someone hits it wrong on something, that just happens.
Thank you for your reply! That’s a great idea... guarantee them for 2 weeks. Anything after that, I’ll have to charge!👍 And yes, I started double priming these few clients that seem to have problems. I do not have YN Protein Bond, but that is something that I’m looking to purchase in the near future. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! There areas another comment in my notifications, but I’m not seeing it when I open it up☹️ I’d like to finish reading the rest, lol!
Yes I know. That’s why I’m trying to figure out why. I have a notification but can only see part of the comment. Then when I open it up, There’s nothing here... strange 🤷♀️
I really can't complain about 1 thing in this video it's so reasonable, respectful to you and the clients, and you spoke truth thanks again Nat much love from NY ❤️
This came at the right time ! My client just canceled today 1 hour before and then tried to get her deposit back !!!!! Like I am just so aggravated I don’t know what to do . I lost $20 today . Like are u serious
I really only charge for ombré and capsulation. Those take me longer to do. i throw in free diamonds when people spend 55 the max i charge is 70 and you have to get a lot for me to charge that much.
Nail stuff are expensive 😭 I be looking at Amazon cheap acrylics but I’m scare it mma or Idk if bad. So I use recommend brands. I’m barley starting and I charge $25 if simple and $35 if they want a lot of bling because good crystals are EXPENSIVE!!
Thanks for helping. Im 11 and I'm into nails ever since I started watching your videos. You've helped me a lot. Hope you can do more of these kinds of videos. I'ma use your advice wisely. 💙
Hey Natalie! I'm charging $50 for the pedi because they can't get what they want from the salon specially ingrowns😬 . Was I charging too much? It took me 2hours to do pedi because of that.
I love your prices, and you do your own thinking. I will say even with you being with your parents. Still will be great to include something to cover utility and trash removal and share that portion to assist them.
I just started to do nails and i’m struggling with prices! I always think i’m charging to much as a beginner and i should start lower but my nail sets do last long but i also want to keep my prices just fine so i can have space to grow and increase. I do what you talked about i have a chart for add ons ,services, designs, fees, full set start prices (receipt) to keep track what i am earning, the client knows what their paying for
This is very helpful, I’m currently in the position of learning and want to practice on people but I want to be safe and sanitary. Thank you! Love your videos 💗
Love your outlook on it all girl!! Keep making videos & that money!! WE SEE YOU QUEEN!! I started nails just a few months ago and thanks to your videos, I've came such a long way!!! 🙏🏻
Hey nat,I was having this problem with pricing but thanks to you I can figure it out a little. Now I just have to change the prices to pesos.I live in Tijuana saludos 💗
I love watching your videos. I started getting into nails from watching so many of your videos. Right now I really into customizing my own press on. It would be great if you did more press on videos for the one that's not comfortable right now with acrylic. 🤗
I agree with a lot of this. I do not agree that where your booty sits, or your blessings should determine what you charge. Just because you now live with your parents doesn’t mean you always will. And not raising prices because you’re in the same place? I guarantee your product prices have gone up. I live in Arkansas too. If there are people paying $200+ for hair, you can get better rates than what you’re currently getting, especially if you’re around the metro areas.
You literally are a blessing you teach soooo much
IKR! I’m 10 and have learned so much and it’s been 1/2 years and I’m rlly good at doing nails!
She really is there's this girl I know that charges people $500 for a class and it's not even individual. If so she charges people 2,000 like smh
I want my nails to be cheaper when I first start out then I want to increase my prices when I get better.
And that’s totally fine!
I charge $20 for everything and I use Valentino Mia secret but now that I’m getting better my prices are going uo
I started at $13 now I’m charging $15! Which is pretty cheap still @nnailsbyalisonn😳
Alison & Jesse definitely go higher! Your nails are pretty good from what I’ve seen!
Zahnae Berry that’s really cheap cuz I started at $30 😅😂

Yes I know. That’s why I’m trying to figure out why. I have a notification but can only see part of the comment. Then when I open it up, There’s nothing here... strange 🤷♀️
Thank you so much. This video really helps
if they cancel how do you charge them?
This what I’m wondering
Love this video and your price list layout. P.s. you are so cute ❤❤❤
Ceyari Beauty Channel you shouldn’t have refunded her!
I really only charge for ombré and capsulation. Those take me longer to do. i throw in free diamonds when people spend 55 the max i charge is 70 and you have to get a lot for me to charge that much.
I wish you included pictures for each of your price points
trinaija check her Instagram page she has it on there
I love how detailed your videos are me as a beginner it helps allot with the instructions on how to get them perfect and so far I have no complaints
thanks for the tips love
Seriously, you're awesome. Thanks for being so honest
Yeah I’m charging $25 right now! I feel like I’m cheating myself now I haven’t set any prices but I’m ready now! I just started in June helppp

Girl come out to southern new mexico.....full set acrylic plain jane $70. No bling no design. But if you want any design $120
I love your prices, and you do your own thinking. I will say even with you being with your parents. Still will be great to include something to cover utility and trash removal and share that portion to assist them.
What’s the dimensions on that card? And thank you for this video!!!! 🙏🏼💕
How do you feel about your pricing today verses then? Do you feel the same about charging that $100 😄
OMG I really needed to see this video. Thank you for your informative videos xo
I just started to do nails and i’m struggling with prices! I always think i’m charging to much as a beginner and i should start lower but my nail sets do last long but i also want to keep my prices just fine so i can have space to grow and increase. I do what you talked about i have a chart for add ons ,services, designs, fees, full set start prices (receipt) to keep track what i am earning, the client knows what their paying for
Omg i wanted to charge $5 lol
Right I wanted to +5 for length 😂
Aileen Falcon me too 😂
Omg thank you I needed this!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing this information! Thank you for actually wanting to help beginners. Where do you get your shellac polishes from.?
Can you do a video on what a nail artist would need to get started. Equipment and products wise
It sucks for the person paying..but the nail tech makes bank. The nails dont even have to look good. Its sad
This is very helpful, I’m currently in the position of learning and want to practice on people but I want to be safe and sanitary. Thank you! Love your videos 💗
I needed this can u do a live on this topic I got a lot of questions and other people to bye LOVE YOUR SHIRT!! Where do u shop for clothes girl 💜💜💜💜
I don’t agree with cancelling people because they missed appointments a few times 😏
Love your outlook on it all girl!! Keep making videos & that money!! WE SEE YOU QUEEN!! I started nails just a few months ago and thanks to your videos, I've came such a long way!!! 🙏🏻
How do you charge when the client needs a fill but the design they're asking for needs to be removed since it is an acrylic art deisgn?
Do you consider how much you are making an hour. I am not saying to charge by the hour, but is you time built in your price?
Thanks for this video!!! Can you also make a video of nail sizes ? Love your videos!! ❤️❤️
With inflation right now in 2022 I have to start charging at 30$ full set.
Not because I am a ass-hole or anything 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thak you, I will definitely write down my policy.
Hey nat,I was having this problem with pricing but thanks to you I can figure it out a little. Now I just have to change the prices to pesos.I live in Tijuana saludos 💗
Hi Nathali you are so talented i love your begginers arcrylic tutorials
Great topic and points ❤
Can U take a picture of your policy please, thank U N advance
It’s on my Instagram @getnailed32
How long does it take u to do a full set of nails?
Thank you I get told I need to raise my prices and I do need to add that late fee/cancel notice
Wait... you live in ARKANSAS?!?!?!?!? I've been following you for years and didn't know you were literally in my neighborhood???
Thank you for this video not a lot of nail tech talk about the nail price I need to know lol
me watching this on the same date it was released just 3 yrs later
