    Solid camera work. Glad to see the format going horizontal for better field of view.

    Very informative video. Just got my contender built circa 1984. Lots to learn.

    I use old hockey pucks as bench blocks. Work well. And I cut a v groove in both so I can put them in my vice to hold round things.

    My trigger pull on my encore prohunter is 3 pounds,and my fx model is 3.5 pounds so I keep up with my t/c's now.i have a t/c dimension left-handed 300 magnum and its 3.5 pounds to,and shoots great on all my rifles and Muzzleloader's made by t/c I have nikon prostaff 4/12/40 bdc scopes except for my Muzzleloader barrels I have nikon prostaff 3/9/40 camo Muzzleloader scopes on those and they shoot great with 100 grain pellets or 2 fifty grain pellets set dead on at 100 yards with 1/2 inch groups now.using t/c 240 grain cheap shot sabits,yes cheap shots and they really do shoot great for me.only thing is after 2 shots I recommend you cleaning your Muzzleloader then and there,that the reason I bought me the fx model because if you have ever tryed cleaning the speed breach on one of the encore prohunter Muzzleloader's it's a big pain in the butt.but with my fx model it has a breach plug more like my dad's cva wolf it just screws out real fast so you can clean it real fast and clean the barrel real quick and your right back to shooting real fast again.i have a cva wolf a cva Optima v2 and 2 knights lk 93 models 1 in 45 calber and one in 50 calber.and still shoot the # 11 caps still on both plus my t/c Hawkins my dad gave me years ago.hes 93 now and he still gets up and goes hunting with me and my family here on my farm in Virginia,I even got him to try using my savage ba 10 stealth 6.5 creedmoor just the other day and he shoot a big doe at 243 yards away with it.so the next barrel I'm getting for my encore will be the 28 inch 6.5 creedmoor rifle barrel,and I still have one nikon prostaff scope left just waiting for it to be put on it!!!!!

    Better camera work. Good to see Horizontal view. May I suggest a EVO RAGE-S 3 AXIS GIMBAL for better stability less shakiness.

    After saying left to right for install. Then you install a new pin by driving the one in out left to right.

    I never got one of those little tools when you guys did my trigger job? T/C makes a little tool that works though so I bought a few. I use a rubber mallet so I never harm my Encore Endeavor

    If the hinge pin is still tight , does not slide out as in video , does the pin need to be replaced ; OR would the frame/barrel combination still improve with an oversize pin ?

    • @HausofArms

      If it tight then there is no need to replace. Marty

    Good video. I have 1970's TC Contender. When my hinge pin became loose, I would contact TC and they would send me a new hinge pin but always the same size, and after a wear-in from shooting, the pin would get loose again. How can I obtain your over-sized hinge pin?
    Thanks.

    I have been fighting accuracy on both of my TC Impacts for a couple years. The hinge pin looks very similar to what I see here in your video. Any chance you have seen results on the Impact by changing the hinge pin?

    Just ran across your channel and I’m glad I did. I want to put together a good prairie dog gun, 223, 22-250 and a 6.5x55. Any advise on how to start this project. I’ve already picked up lots of tips from your videos. Thanks very much, Luther

    • @HausofArms
      @HausofArms  6 років тому

      Hi Luther, thanks for the inquiry. The best way to start is our website, hausofarms dot com. Specifically you'll want to choose the platform (Encore or Contender), we have frames for both available on the site and that's where you'll want to begin. Then the stock choice and then the barrel(s). Our site has everything listed a la carte so you can specifically choose to start your rifle or pistol project from the ground up.

      Haus of Arms thank you very much. I have several H&R Handi-rifles, always liked the concept si it’s time to step it up a notch.

      The options are endless as well as only being limited by your imagination. Check out some of our project guns on the site too and be sure to consider a trigger job with your frame order. Makes all the difference in accuracy!

    From what I have seen smith an Wesson went out of business. So this muzzleloader or high power rifle is going to be obsolete in the near future. Hope not I own one in the 50 caliber and 7 Remington mag, and looking for a 308 caliber barrel. If I am wrong please let me know

    I have an Encore muzzle loader. I would like to convert it to a center fire rifle. First, is it possible ? Second , can I use the original fore end ?

    • @HausofArms
      @HausofArms  11 місяців тому

      If it is an encore muzzleloader yet it can be converted , if it is an "FX" fixed action muzzleloader then no, in which case it will have the FX stamped on it. I have adaptor screws to use most mzldr forends on a centerfire rifle but we recommend just using a rifle forend. Marty

    Everyone i know that has a prohunter series encore has accuracy issues. I have a pre s&w standard encore and from an excellent trigger, consistent shooting and extremely accurate, especially for a factory rifle. Now i put a friends prohunter barrel on mine and the same barrel that would shoot 2.5” groups at 100 yards is now shooting 0.75” groups using same load. Could this be a pin issue? Mine fits tight, all the prohunters ive seen have a relatively loose pin.

    • @HausofArms
      @HausofArms  4 роки тому +1

      Ironically the very first thing I learned as we entered the business 11 years ago was "tighten up the hinge pin tighten up the groups. certainly there are other factors, trigger, ammo, headspace and more. Marty

    Ok I have 2 t/c Muzzleloaders one is the Muzzleloader fx model and the other is the t/c encore prohunter Muzzleloader with a 50 calber Muzzleloader barrel,a 7mm magnum rifle barrel a 308 rifle barrel a custom made 22 long rifle barrel a 20 gauge turkey and squirrel barrel and a 20 gauge slug barrel to.and the pin on both guns I have mounted all the barrels on both from the right to left,and the left to right now.i never did lube my pin on eather gun and they both shoot spot on ever shot I take with eather gun or barrel I choose to use that day.ive had my encore prohunter Muzzleloader rifle since 2001 and my fx Muzzleloader going on 3 years now,so dont be taken in by some of this bull crap loose pen stuff now ok.taje care of it and it will take care of you Thompson center prohunter Muzzleloader's and rifle and really a great gun you can choose just about any calber that you want or prefer to use and hint with.from deer bear Turkey squirrel even bird hunting so get and try it I'm sure you want be disappointed with your choose if so then get the calber barrel you are more satisfied with I know I did over and over many times now🦌😁👍👌‼

    • @HausofArms
      @HausofArms  4 роки тому +1

      Pete, sounds like you got a couple nice T/C's right out of the box, where everything fits and works as it should. I totally agree about taking care of them as that's exactly what my Dad taught me as well. But not everybody is that lucky. I bet your triggers are about 4 -4.5 lbs also, the way it used to be. But please understand that not everyone has been as lucky as you. trigger pulls now are consistently 5-7lbs and there is sometimes great variation in the hinge pin holes. Certainly if your's are good, don't touch them but for those who haven't been as lucky as you we can help. Marty

    Why is your category Comedy shouldn't it be Education?
