  • In this video I review the current form of Launcher, with commentary as of 1/1/24! After a little over a year from the last time (26/11/22) we covered this weapon, Launcher has been in buffed in a few ways, that may have given it a little bit of a shape up in various areas, but has it really been meaningful enough to be a game changer? This review shows the true answer! Let's talk about it down below! What would you like to see from the new Ranger class Expansion coming very soon!

    Stop by to give you a shout out. Ever since I seen the point blank cancel. Everyone ask me now how it’s done as a gunner main lmao. 😂 you get much more dps doing that. Thank you again ❤.

      That's very kind of you, glad it was helpful! The Point Blank cancel does have it's advantages & disadvantages when compared to using Point Blank normally.
      Keep in mind you will gain more consistant DPS out of using charged Point Blank combo normally if you strike a critical hit/high potency floor attacks on every hit, but in some cases you could miss that second hit if used against moving enemies!
      The advantage of the cancel allows you to be a lot more mobilie while still allowing you to carry that high damage per hit much more accurately, which can definitely result in your DPS increasing in some cases. So I definitely recommend making use of both PB combos depending on those scenarios! 😉

      @@MasterMkp indeed I have noticed that as well too. I still charge it normally but mostly on downed enemies I would cancel an then do the rest of the combos. I really do appreciate you.

    Great points! However, personally all is forgiven if they return the Rocket Rodeo Type-0 😭

      Rocket Rodeo was so much fun to use to zoom around the PSO2 stages! The mobile cannons actually do have Rocket Rodeo built into their movesets, but it would still be cool to see it return for Launcher!

    One skill that you didn't use at all in the video was Fear Eraser, which when facing a single enemy especially one affect by physical or elemental down can inflict alot of damage especially with the finishing attack so long as the PA is held for a few seconds. But, i will agree as someone who loved base PSO2s' launcher, NGSs' launcher just feels so much worse, not only cause of the animations(the basic attack animations are nice though) but also due to the lack of usable PAs when trying to aoe clear mobs, if they just gave launcher Flame Round from base PSO2 it be so much better. So hopefully with the big content drop and new region coming in the summer, launcher gets the love it so desperately needs.

      I agree with your points! I also hope it gets the love that it deserves taking more inspiration from PSO2! Fear Eraser is definitely an exceptional PA for damage on long duration downs. Throwing a sticky bomb (Weapon Action) before it's use can also help manage your PP pretty well too!
      I personally don't really utilise it as much due to it's stationary nature, but you are definitely correct with it being an excellant way to rack up damage on enemy downs/breaks.

      @@MasterMkpI run this basewear as well but how did you change the shoes? I don’t like the stock shoes that come on this basewear. Edit: I should rephrase my question, I have the normal and /2 variants of the Ba how do you get the /B, I can’t find any evidence of its existence

      @@ExpertRam The ornament display settings (Hide Basewear/Setwear Ornament 1) allows the boots to be removed on these basewears.
      N-Denim Shorts/B was released in the NGS AC Scratch: Remix Line Nov '23. This variant is also a tradable item that can be found on the personal shop!

      @@ExpertRam My pleasure! Many basewears don't always allow it, but you can always check with that option on item previews, or within your customize looks menu if you own the item.

    Ranger main here (using the term loosely cause I suck at the game. my only notable contribution is keeping blight up, hah!) Seeing those amazing damage numbers has me torn between several videos I've seen discussing rangers in general, and this particular topic. On the one hand, several "important" players of the game who set trends for their classes have stated launcher is in a bad position, at least compared to base. In a recent interview style video, one player claimed it is an absolutely non-viable main weapon and is relegated to support status for the rifle. However, several points in this video, while not outright contridicting this, really give me pause on how launcher is actually meant to be used. I suppose skill level+encounter knowledge+weapon itself=potentiality. In other words, a really skilled and knowledgeable player might be able to make launcher their main weapon, but... yeah, there's a LOT of extra baggage with this one.
    I guess the disclaimer is, "use at your own risk"? lol Launcher is such a great feeling weapon to use, it really completes the ranger power (ph)fantasy. Still, it needs some love and (maybe) some serious reworks.

      Launcher can absolutely be used at a higher level from an experienced player, on the sole purpose that it's a weapon that still brings high damage numbers in certain cases. However, I'm sure the difficulty and frustation may still be prevelant for that player with Launchers mobility, against faster bosses/enemies when used in solo scenarios.
      I absolutely agree on your point 'use at your own risk!' As even though a weapon may not perform well overall, there will always be a select few who can grit through the pain and in a lot of cases become even better players from the experience.
      Hope the expansion coming soon does spark some interest back into the weapon!

      @@MasterMkp I just sprint double jump above the enemies heads and spam moves in the air lool, I rarely take damage or find the mobility to be an issue as I've memories enemy patterns and know if I use my blasty blasty moves during certain attacks that they'll likely hit me during the animation lock

    its normal attack animation annoy the hell out of me, why couldn't they have just stuck with standard "stand and shoot" type like the base game, save the fancy stuff for the PA's

      That's actually what I was disappointed about the most, was with how most of it's skills have been heavily centered around it's sluggish normal attacks. The normal attacks & PA's feeling fluid will always be an essential part for enjoyment on a weapon.

    Compared to how a rifle or bow feels, especially for a solo player, I have to admit that the launcher is the most terrible weapon in the game.

      It's very true. It really does underperform as a solo weapon. Hopefully the Ranger Class Expansion coming soon sheds some light on Launcher!
