Every time the Cuban missile crisis is mentioned, the westerners present it in a way that USSR was the aggressor, placing it's missiles in Cuba, while in reality it was USA that placed it's missiles in Turkey in 1962, and USSR - in retaliation - placed it's missiles in Cuba in 1963.

Yes, but that is not really the fault of common western citizens, but due to the same exceptionally dangerous mechanisms as we are victims of today; massive, continuous propaganda demonizing our so called "adversaries" and presenting a insanely spinned variant of "reality". Media being no real media, in sense of scrutinizing the power apparatus of a nation , are nothing but puppets of the political elite, thus being the ultimate war mongers of our time.

…so when Ukraine was attacking ethnic Russians in the Donbas that was perfectly ok?
Germany did not feel it should have intervened militarily. He tries to cover up his bias but his hatred for Russia is apparent.
An interesting conversation and important; his book I think should be read, but I stress there is an egotism hiding in the shadows; he (or rather the bourgeois centre he admits to be a product of ) simply thinks Russians are inferior to the rest of Western Europe. This theme, very subtle runs through his entire analysis.
Now I disagree, this conflict will end in a military solution. It does not have to be a humiliating defeat and Russia gloats but the message has to be clear…don’t come over here and arrogantly urinate on our doorstep.
This the only way to drive the Americans out who seem to think they have the god given right to emasculate the globe.
This cancer, localised in Ukraine which admittedly Russia allowed to fester will be cut out. Russia will be patient but it will prevail.

the former general keeps insisting NATO is a defensive alliance against threats. This begs the question, defense for what, and against which threats? If we go down the list of NATO operations, it would be quite clear that the object for defense is US hegemony and interest, in whatever shape or form it might be, from political to material like oil. As for threat, anything or anyone who threatens the said object is considered a threat.
Take China for example. its not even in the same continent. Same as Russia, and yet they are the greatest threat to the US hegemony and interest, so they are a threat, despite the fact that they had deep economic ties with Europe and severing those is simply going to lead Europe down the path of economic stagnation. yet here we are, europe killing itself to ensure the actual object of defense remains intact. There is clear cause for concern that Russia can invade europe, given the past, however, this is also true that reason why this can happen is due to a lack of diplomacy.
Now they are all scared that trump will come and they'll be left to their own devices. Question you should be asking is, why should it matter to Europe who becomes president in another continent? You will have Russia on your border regardless. It's common sense to have a strong diplomatic team for that. Won't work now though. This is another reason why USA and NATO is so bad for Europe. To appease them, you antagonize Russia and China who are close by, to the point where there is active animosity now. Such a bizarre case of shortsightedness its baffling.

Crimea was cut off of the Russian SSR (Russia) and ceded to the Ukrainian SSR by Nikita Khrushchev the Soviet dictator - willy-nilly - in 1954. At that time it had NO Ukrainian ethnic/language population whatsoever - virtually zilch. Even in 2014 - when Russia TOOK it BACK, 80% of the population was non-Ukrainian; mainly Russian and Crimean Tatars.
And... Russia's primary reason to take it back wasn't the majority Russian population. It was that the Russian Navy base, Sevastopol was to be handed over to the US Navy, by the coup-installed US puppets of Kiev.
FYI: I even know the building and can show on the map, which was to be converted to be the US Navy's headquarters. The US Navy even had a tender on its website, for the renovation/conversion.

You go to these countries and destabilize the place because you want your way and you want your resources without paying a fair cent for it. You turn the place into a hellhole for the locals and then you expect them to stay in that hellhole while you go live in the heaven you created WITH THEIR RESOURCES. What do you think was going to happen? Every human being wants comfort so if you deny others of it, don't expect to have it for yourself. Imagine sanctioning a country for trying to start an agricultural program so they can feed themselves without importing food. You want them to either buy food from you or die. You have no right to complain about illegal immigration. You caused it and still denying it. Own your faults, acknowledge them, and correct them and you will have peace.

He mentioned the Cuban missile crisis and how Kennedy got Russia to back down with the threat of nuclear war but didn’t mention it was the placement of missiles in Turkey that created the Russian counter move to place missiles in Cuba that’s what created the Cuban missile crisis 🤷‍♂️ and it was with Kennedy agreeing to remove the missiles from Turkey that solved the crisis…Russia didn’t actually back down 🤷‍♂️
I tend to think 🤔 he doesn’t like Russia and I got the feeling that he wants to rebuild the German and European military for a future war with Russia….just a feeling I got but he tried (to me) to portray Russia as a constant aggressor, he did it in a subtle way, partly by omission…as in the examples I mentioned above.

War with Georgia was a week long - almost zero civilians died - and it was enough to change its policy towards NATO. Since then - we have good relationship. Then the Ukraine. We were telling hundreds of times from 2008 to 2021 that there will be no NATO there. Explaining our concerns, trying all the different ways to negotiate. Zero result. Our strong desire to avoid war was seen as weakness. So now we are explaining our position with other means.

It's interesting how all the West sees Cuban crisis. They all are confusing cause and consequence. I'm surprised that even people like him don't know. Probably he knows, but won't admitt it because of their bias or are taking orders from the boss.
Cuban crisis didn't start because Soviets wanted to put their missiles on Cuba. It started because Soviets wanted missiles removed from Turkey.
Soviets shipped missiles on the decks of the ships, clearly visible..... Why? So Americans could see them. Do you think Soviets didn't have capacities to transport them secretly? They could do that an when they would have been installed, they ciuld just present the fact and US could do squat.
US, and consequentially the whole obedient West portray Cuban crisis as Kennedy's victory, but, in fact, it was more Khruschev's victory. US did what Soviets wanted, they removed missiles from Turkey.

Having a standing defensive army is crucial for the national morale and an important social outlet for a certain demographic of a nation.

The objective of the war in Ukraine, from a western government prospective, is actually pretty evident: to weaken Russia, cause a regime change that puts into power someone amenable to western interests (as in mainly US interests), break the collaboration between Russia and China and (for Poland and the Baltic states at least) Balkanize Russia turning it into a minor power. Is this realistic? Facts on the ground say it is not and even that war strengthened Russia’s ties with China, but the people who want and support war are to committed (better: have got us too committed) to their project to admit its failure.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021: Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

Germany would probably benefit more than any other European nation from the Asian Silk Road initiative (upon full completion). An overland transport system designed for high volume is less costly than ocean shipping. Germany's talent for designing and manufacturing high-end products of quality will always result in global trade advantages, including that which could stem from the Eurasian masses in their billions. The German dilemma is fundamentally one of being caught in the past, with a deep political animus against Russia, as voiced by General Vad. To regain the high status it once held, Germany's near-vassal status should be transcended in order to maximize its national potential. It's been long enough.

He often avoids directly answering uncomfortable questions and refuses to acknowledge that this is a US provocation against Russia. For example, the sabotage of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations by Boris Johnson, he completely avoided the question. When he talks about Russia as a future threat to Europe, he is completely wrong, when did Russia attack a Western European country unless it itself was attacked?

He dares not cross that line in the current climate. It's called a general's instinct for self-preservation. At least he set forth the cold reality of it all, which takes a lot of courage in Germany. I am baffled by how a highly cultured nation, with such a profound abundance of native intelligence, can so easily be manipulated by the elite party line in any given year.

Well, he also had some criticism of Nato policy, lack of diplomacy, etc... That led to conflict. Yes, he was very much part of the Nato establishment. But one of the more saner voices. So one can go after him... and then there will be no conversation, but sure, everyone in their respective echo chambers will be happy...

Look at the map ignorant to see what territory has to defend Russia to their enormity of their land and still don't have enough? This country should be broke a part and given to China and Japan in the far East. They think they devised a plan with China , let see how this will end. China has prospered because of money and technology invested from West there, not because of Russian bolshevism and imperial ambitions. If China can't see that is their problem.

Too difficult for all of Nato to acknowledge that the US, - Biden, Nuland, and even Trump wanted it destroyed. To acknowledge it would be to accuse your boss of an act of war against you.
      Like rape.
The US resented Germany getting cheap Russian gas which created a mega industrial powerful state. Couldn't be abided by the US hegemon.
None of the Baltic states, Norway, Sweden, Denmark came up with any conclusions, but they all know, but can't say - yet.
