@@kutagen but the problem is that when a newbie learn this game, theres a fine line of "pemium users" that are at least 10~20% better in every way possible with more game knowledge, and learning sucks when you are losing at least more than half of your game and most of the smaller half you win is by carried by other "premium users"
this game isnt as newbie friendly as it was couple years ago, where paid users had to grind on some mediocre shits like the IS-6 just to get some extra credit and those are used to research new tanks only, standard shell is well, the "standard" kind of shell everyone will use on a normal game, and ppl got more chance on learning than get their ass kicked by 10 other paid users using fully juiced tanks with 100k credits cost per game, or overpowered premium tanks...

And/or non-premium APCR. Some tanks such as the Leopard 1 and M41 Bulldog fire regular APCR rounds as default, and in the Leopard 1's case, fire premium APCR rounds as well....

The reason I stopped playing wot was because even at tier 8 with 5 kills you will still be losing credits cause of the repairs and consumables
you have to be capable of managing your credits and saving up. before i spent real money on the game, i played tier 6 and under and avoided high tiers because thats where i lost all my credits. of course not everyone wants to do that but thats what worked for me. in tier 8 and up you should never expect to profit, only break even.
@@posadist681 Agreed, I'm an average tonker at best so play 3 tier VI battles to 1 tier VIII, IX or X battle to keep my credits levelled out.
@@posadist681 did that too and saved up more then 14 Million Credits. Working your tanks up tier by tier helped me understand the game better + I had more money then all my friends (by far).
Tasnim Hossain my problem was I loosing money on tier VIII so I play it only for first win then play low tanks
Tier eight is the money making tier you probably did get 5 kills. But no chance did you do all the damage you probably hit them with the last two shots before they died meaning you probably had 800 damage total
When I decide to play my Tier X tanks, I find the battle button becomes the "Lose credits" button
I can get 1st mastery badge, high caliber, win by 8 tanks, survive with half HP, and lose 20k firing AP
NGL I wouldn't mind not earning any credits in a tier X tank. I'd rather break even than loose 20k in a good match.
What's up with that mechanic? I've just got my udes03 my first t8 and I'm starting to see credit losses even with decent games. Why do they do that?

I agree with all things said and it also used to take me a long time to grind any tank or credits, but It did feel waaay faster after I got much better at playing the game, so keep in mind that practice and thinking makes the game much smoother. Been using premium account lately, but also have big enough amount of battles under the standard as well. All these holiday bonuses, prem. acc. and boosters made the grind ridiculous. Got almost 25k exp for a first win in tier 8 tank.

Yep. Years ago (around 2014 IIRC) many players told during his streams that premium account makes your stats better not because better MM but due to ability to use premium consumables or due to 50% shorter grinds so with less battles on shitty tanks. Grinds which could not be accelerated by any personal reserves because there were no personal reserves back then. It seems he finally realized this in 2019.

Edit: I disagree, its pay to win/progress. My seconds comment even contradicts the first "if you ignore the time factor, you can get the best crew and equipment", you literally can't ignore the time factor if you're talking about progression.
I was too focused around the thought that a f2p can easily reach the same levels of a p2p given enough time and that it is the *progression* separating the two apart. Sad part is, I was ignoring the disadvantage that a f2p player is experiencing during their own progression making it pay to win. I was wrong and I was too lazy to read the other comments that pointed that out.
@@nates9778 As progress mean better tanks, better crews, better equipment this means pay2win. And playing free means a steady lack of credits, unless you optimize on driving only the best possible tanks, instead of playing a fun game, as QB has shown here.
ElMariachi Yes, but if you ignore the time factor, you can get the best crew and equipment. Someone who paid money has the exact same tank they just got there first and are probably working towards another tree.

And from that point on, think about the thousands of games, that have to be played with bad tanks, bad crew and bad equipment until the free player finally has a good base for playing on an fair level compared to others. As you know fuor sure, players in WoT are always judged by their stats. And that's the problem: Of course you can play very good and win often when you got your tanks, cresw, equipment and anything else complete but until then you will have played so many games with inferior equipment, that it will easily take tens of thousands of matches, for compensating at least partially for the worse stats that have been accumulated before. And still you will never reach the winrate and overall efficiency of players who didn't need that extra hard grind. The only stat no affected by this could be winrate and efficiency over the last few months. But do people really even have a second looks, to see that someone recently has played with 65% winrate, after thez have first see bhis overall winrate with 51%?
You probably know how to calculate the ratios and the effect over time. Just try some examples with realistic sample data from available online stats and you will be shocked, how hard it is to compensate for taht bad beginning - it's even way more work than the actual grind to full equipment.
It's a clever trap, constructed by WG: It's not winning matches that make you a winner, but having a high winrate is. No one cares how good as a player you might be, if he sees your way lower winrate from before.
This problem could, for the most, be solved, if WG wouldn't even keep permanent stats of the players, but exclusively and only had stats like 'last 3 months' or so - but for sure they won't change this, because that's why people pay, and often even reroll and pay to win the hell out of the game for not running into that permanent lower stat trap.

I've created my WoT account back in 2014, I thoroughly enjoyed playing the hell out of it so much that I eventually ended up a unicum in asia server. Played with the top clans and won my very own gaming PC from a local WoT tournament.
But I've quitted around 2017-18 because the clan I was in dissolved and so I lost my in game gold mine, started noticing people quitting due to bad updates, arty, etc. My premium soon ran out and I struggled to keep playing higher tiers which is what I enjoyed the most. FV183 is even my favorite TD so you can imagine how expensive it gets.
Then update after update WG keeps buffing armor (theres a patch that buffed the type 5 armor to ridiculous levels you can no longer pen it without gold) and introducing tanks that are practically immune to AP peasant rounds.
You start to notice the uptick on premium shells hitting your super heavy tanks like the Maus and E100 that it doesn't matter what tactics you employ on them, your enemies will just dab on the 2 key and out skill you with premium rounds.
Arty just got more annoying with stun effects etc.
The meta has shifted so blatantly to pay to win to stay competitive is essentially what I'm trying to say and that's what broke the cammel's back for me. I had to stop playing.
Before you say git gud or whatever I am urchins renamed to 'BabyGroot' of asia server. You can look up my service record, it's an original account from NA that transferred to SEA on the second round of transfers. No re-rolls. I know my skills, I could play in such a manner that I could average 70%+ W/R if I really wanted to. But that's not my idea of fun, I'm the guy that rushes and YOLO's to high risk high reward plays and have a good time doing it instead of playing it safe to pad stats.
Anyway, I've had so much good memories on this game and I am glad I've had the privilege to play it with the best people during it's golden years. I think this game has plateaued and now just flat lined. Now it just caters to whales and is milking the people who haven't found a replacement for this game... because sadly there are none.
I've tried to come back multiple times, even now. But after a game or two and seeing how hostile and grindy it is for free players I fail to see a reason why I should stay.

If you made it this far I applaud you, I hope I didn't ruin the game for you. It's a great game, but without a proper competition on this segment I don't think WG would be inclined on fixing the terrible elements that still plague the game *cough!* arty *cough!*..

I started playing year ago and as F2P I can confirm: higher you get, more painful it is. At Tier 8 it became just riddiculous how everyone is just using pay2win premiums and APCR.
I tried to compensate it by playing SPG and tank destroyers with high base penetration, but that game feels so miserable sometimes. It doesn't matter how much i trying to side my tank sometimes, because after bouncing 1 shell i see they swapping into APCR and just tearing me apart.
DERPS are really nice to play as F2P aswell (Pz IVH, Shermans, KV)... problem is: they are going to hammer arty again and destroy HE, that will basically mean "time to quit this game"... which is a shame, because without premium rounds and consumables that game could have been so, so much better.
I recently finished my grind and finally got the tier ten, but I also got a 75% crew. At least it's the holidays. 🤦♂️
same here ... and whenever i get torn appart by the premium shells i take my M44 out and ruin the game for all those premium tanks by focusing them the whole game *evil laughter*
@@michibuciu5235 Yeap the most efficient way to play this game vs tier 8 premium bs is just go SPG and focus every single overpowered premium that exist... which can be hard considered how some games are literally like 10 vs 12 premiums
Fun fact, the only t10 tanks that you can finish in net positive on credits are arty as a F2P player.
What you need to do is:
1)win the game
2)Hit ALL of your regular shells, if even one missed = you will get in negative
3)Do not take ANY damage to the tank, if there will be repairs, then you will lose money
4)Do not use any consumables
So simple right? WG really made a great balance, I hope they will burn in hell.

I finished all the tech trees for free. I did buy 6 Christmas boxes a year ago and this year to reward WG for my free to play experience. +49k games total, +11k at tier IX, less than 200 games at tier X (cause whats the point of playing those).

Playing without a premium account feels like a waste of time, but when I buy premium I feel guilty if I don't play every day, and still have a bad experience. It's the reason I quit the game.

Mirrors my experience
I've stopped playing this game 5 years ago.
I started playing at 2013, and the first line I decided to grind, was the american TD line.
I played the T28 prototype completely stock and let me tell you. It took me sooooo long to get it maxed out, and the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
Skip forward 2 years to 2015, and I take a look at my garage and see that after 17k battles, I only managed to get 3 TIER 10s. ONLY FCKIN 3.
The t110e4 , the t57 heavy and the amx 50b.
So I said fck it. This is getting nowhere. I tried to play tier 10 games as well for my last 2k games, and my credits dried out completely.
I had no premium tanks or premium account what so ever, so yea. Just went to the control panel and sent this game to hell and never touched it ever since.
Honestly it would be better if WG just adopted a subscription service for this game. Have so you can't progress past tier VI or play tanks above that level without a subscription. Least then they could stop pretending to be F2P and instead just give subscribers a good experience.
Course this is if we are optimistic and don't think WG would just use that to further inflate their profit margins.
tbh since then it really has improved, and if you do the events you can even make a profit. Ive been playing since beta and oh boy, grinding 100k xp in the old days took sooo long, now with all the events and boosters they give out 100k xp can be done within a week of just playing 1-2h max (ofc depends on how well you play as well). With a bit of time you can also get premium tanks (tier 8 included) with currency you earn in game (bonds). SO in some ways it has improved, in others not so much, they still release too many premium tanks, but it seems like a lightbulb has come into their heads that they can monetize ingame skins and styles as well and maybe more than just tanks

I remember the days that you can buy camo, inscription,emblem, of your choice with credits. I remember the days people didnt spam gold shells left right and center. I remember the days that you need to learn every tank and grind it without paying gold for free xp.
Yep free to play players still exist and I am one of them. Do I recommend this game for new players? Huge NO.

Im stuck with this game, after passed 2 tier IX, 1 tier VII 3 tier VII, and some tier VII lower in garage. It hurts when new premium tank came out, and we (free player) can't do much, our tank like shit against them. Its not enjoy anymore.
Playing for free is not just hard; it is literally torturing. :(
I agree, 3 years in and I still dont have anything past tier 9. But I've given up on wot and switched to warthunder since MOST of there premium vehicles are balanced and can be killed in the front with stock shells. And there motto is literally "it had to exist in metal to be added to the game" so you dont have to worry about ridiculous armored titans like the t28 HTC premium being added that when angled properly can almost never be penned even with premium shells.
To be honest until tier 6 it as fun and engaging. But then came +2 with T8 premiums, M44 and KV-2.

My computer sucked so bad that when 1.0 came out I was basically forced to stop playing. I would load into games with my tank as a low quality version that is used at long ranges. I barely managed 20fps most of the time before it. Kind of don't regret it.
I have about $300 in my computer, not counting my TV/Monitor just bought a SSD for $30 at best buy, can you say no more WOT game lockups!! Best 30$ I EVER spent on the computer.

Premium consumables are for easy mode of this game. Try playing without them and be competitive. All I see when I get premium consumables through missions and specials is free credits.
Yess. I had somehow got 234 of them extra combat ration things....a few mins later i had 2,340,000 extra credits😄

Same, I always sell them. The only times I used prem consumables were when I had a mission to finish without crew/module damage, and when I was like 0.3% off of 3 marking my M4
I am ftp except for buying Xmas large boxes. I always sell my premium consumables too for the credits. And always buy the consumables at 50%
I'm the same way -- except for auto fire extinguishers I sell all the premium consumable rewards for credits, which I then use mostly to purchase equipment and premium ammo. Still a scrub but now not such a terrible scrub.

9:20 is why I minimize my gold use in this game, I run it like a free to play account always. Rarely fire gold shells, rarely ever skip stock grinds. The achievements are so much more satisfying. Especially when I dominate players who spam gold and run premium consumables in their OP premium tanks, and they know they got outplayed hardcore.
Most players probably cant see the difference between real results and results paid for. Exactly as you said, what is a good game worth of if you did spam gold even into lower tiers - basically playing on easy mode.
I used to load only 5 gold rounds on my tier 8 even when the M was broken when you were basically fodder for tier ten matches
Gave that habit up when I get wrecked by even tier 6 slinging gold

I never spent money on the game for 5 years + now. My favourite tank class and advise: probably still just go for light tanks. It's very cheap if you spot effectively. But keep in mind what QB said - you simply have that huge disadvantage of worse view range in general (not necessarily insane though).
The disadvantage is huge for scouts, because camo + view range multiply the difference between f2p and p2w players. ie. He gets 10% better view range, 10% better camo, he's going to spot you at 400m, you gonna spot him at 320m, you have to push ahead into dangerzone to spot, he's having an easy time outside spot range while spotting everybody. Basically hard mode vs easy mode.
@@SilverforceX You dont get +10% better view range with consumables. You do get +10% to crew skills witch buffs view range by about 4%.
@@Paciat I just did the math on that. My m4 as of now has 494m view range when stationary for 3 seconds, WITHOUT cola. With cola, I got 511m view range. Thats a 9.6% increase!!! So yeah, you do get 10% bonus across everything...
@@wargamingsupernoob You did the math wrong. 511-494=17 Base view range (100%) is 370. 17/370 = 0,046 = 4,6%.
@@Paciat what kind of logic is that, are you spotting with your base view range or effective? So base vr is irrelevant and math should be done on effective vr so that guy is right.
what is really sad is for an AMAZING round like that, you only get 43k credits (without premium) that is still an abysmal amount. The economy in Wot is broken without premium time and/or a premium tank.

even with premium at tier 10 if you dont do well you will lose money, if you do well you might break even, only really really good players make money in tier tens

I noticed you did not get “War gamed” and are on a good map for this TD. I am frequently stuck into a city map with this line of TD.
This is the reason why I only play Tier 7 and below. Tier 8 and above you just lose credits even with good games.
As a free to play player, I had no idea that paying player have THIS MUCH of an advantage.
Start looking at after battle stats on just the credits. Many times you will see a gain of 20k+ silver but a loss of credits on the free to play side. And that is just the credit side.
Its why I hardly play anymore.

I really think there's a world to be discovered of tips and tricks for players with less money in their purse.You've always been a great guide as long as I've played the game (since 2014). If it weren't for you, Id know nothing of weakspots, tracking, spotting and camo, let allone side scraping and protecting the lower plate. So a big thanks from the Netherlands! And I never had a problem playing for free back then. I just loved the game while being free to play. (Did got bankrupt on my first now "abandon" account but that didn't made me mad or anything like that. I learned how to keep a stable credit income being free to play now.)

The issue isnt that stock tanks dont need to be in the game, its that WG need to rethink the balance on some tanks
can't balance when all new tanks have to be OP til they are nerfed when the next OP tanks comes out, and then etc.. all new tanks are OP til nerf. How u stop power creep?

Playing F2P essentially means playing 95% (between skilling up crews, stock tanks through the tech tree grinds) of the time with heavy disadvantages.

Above tier 5 the whole f2p is a tough proposition. Tier 6 has the first wave of really strong premiums.
I stopped playing WoT as my main game 2 years ago, and now when i go back im f2p... it has been annoying... And i have the advantage of a huge stockpile of credits and consumables...
Wot was at its greatest before patch 1.0 in my opinion, after that game was just going down by every single patch

Back in the day (2014-2016) when I was playing more often, you could watch my win rate increase and level out, and increase some more and level out, and it did that for a couple cycles.
The flats were when I was playing stock/non-elite tanks, and the climbs were when I was grinding out the next tank. Those stock grinds are etched in my win rate history.
I am constrained to play largely for free. I noted the Udes driver has 6th sense. Once I get a crew member up to 100% ut stll takes HOURS of play to get that skill activated. It's a long grind. I appreciate the fact that you do this on a free account.

yup only real reason i watch QB, circon and jinglesanymore is to see if WG will ever make it a balanced game. I think i am fooling myself.

David Coltman yes, it’s the problem with new lines. Tier 3,4 are fast to get along so not a problem. Playing for a hundred battle at tier 5 can do the job :) depending of your level you can have 100% pretty fast. If you have money then a 2M books can give the first skill. You can farm with the scorpion given in tank reward

Hey Quicky, I’ve never bought premium time but definitely enjoy those moments when I win or are given premium time by the game.
I’ve found out from another fellow Xbox player, the basic pattern of perks you should use to get a good head start on vision and detection.
Perk 1 is brother in arms.
Perk 2 is sixth sense
Perk 3 is (bare with me, not in front of the game) recon
Perk 4 is signal range?
Basically boost anything that has to do with radio or vision range.
Use Coated Optics only if you plan on keeping the tank or you have gold laying around to take it off if you plan on selling the tank.
Also use vents if the tank has it.
Gun rammer to increase the amount of shots you can get in, in a match.
Have fun out there guys and let me tell you, ALL of us tankers want to lose it from time to time.
Actually I also created a Free to Play account last year after watching your first Free to Play video. I totally agree with you that we need to choose tanks when you play in Free to Play style. When you meet a good tank, you really don't feel that big gap between Free to Play and Pay to Win. So far I have successfully reached P.44 Pantera and T44, just by following your recommendation: Italian line, and Russian T34 line. (to get Obj.430U) With the reward of Winter Op., I will be able to unlock directly to tier 9, and half tier 10. (Standard B, and then Obj.430).

I started playing this game 7 years ago and become in love with SPGs, none of my friends ever played this game and I had noone to guide me through the ammass of windows in the game menu, what where the strategies and tactics, armour, bouncing shells and all this stuff.
I've always been a casual gamer in WoT, like 5 games per month, and I'll tell you this: I STILL DON'T HAVE A TIER 10 TANK.
SPGs are crazy to grind on free to play I just have a tier 8 Russian SPG and a bunch of tier 5/6 tanks...
7 years.... Played mediums, heavies, lights, TDs and tons of SPG games, played with clans but 90% of the time I played solo for 7 years now... It's not rewarding for free players...

I have found that you can be a unicum on this game while playing completely free. I have about 14k battles and it took me a while to realize how to play right. Meaning positioning, armor usage, and basically positioning again. I haven't spent a single dollar on this game and don't plan on it. I am currently a blue player but my recent hovers around purple/dark purple. My average wn8 is slowly moving up it's just taking a while because I have 14k battles. I use premium ammo when necessary, I never used a premium consumable. I get my credits by selling premium consumables. I bring the many free premium tanks I have gotten over the 3 years I have been playing. Yes I still get pissed at this game but it's mainly because of dumb decisions made by wargaming. I still think 3 Arty per game is a cancer. And only the bad players won't agree because you aren't getting focused by 3 clickers all game while trying to carry. Although, I think the new anonymiser has helped. And the wheeled vehicles are ridiculous for the game. When I get destroyed in a 1-15 game I just brush it off and try to do what I can to win the next game. Stop blaming teammates and just fix your positioning. Stay alive past the first 30 seconds of the game lol. That will increase your win rate and win8 by 20% right away at least. This game is super easy to play for free.
It's not that you can't play, it just gets super grindy at tier 8. Without having premium subscription, having premium tank you like to play is the best option. And there are some pretty good tier 7-8 premium tanks that you can use to make lots of silver.
Pretty much what made me quit. That and a bait-and-switch mission that left a really bad taste in my mouth.
And that's after putting some money into the game rather than being pure FTP, but it became abundantly clear that it was turning into a typical "free to play, pay to actually get anywhere" trap.
You have no idea how much of a relief this year's holiday event has been for f2p players, cutting out tons of research work on tanks with all of the blueprints it's been giving out.
Research higher tiers faster, but u dont have enough credits to buy and run those higher tiers.
Tier 8 economy is so broken. On losing teams you can be top 5 in xp and somehow still lose credits.

There are plenty of nice research trees, plenty of chances to get enough free exp to jump over low tiers or stock modules, even chance to get premium tanks at grindfests or black market or bones market, plenty of silver farming consumables and events, so you can use gold rounds and still have positive bilance at the end of game or session. (Talk about game traps, which should keep you playing more not because you like it, rather because you need couple more games to get this booster or that module/consumable).
Couple years ago there were nothing like that, I learned to farm on Cromwell and Tiger I, I were that dream teammate who has only mask-net and binoculars on every tank :D because 600k silver was somekind "WTF - should I rob the bank?" amount.
Players, who still riding around with IS4 (or any other bad tank) just reduce chance to get re-view/re-build/re-work on the particular tank and whole branch. WG: "players are still enjoying those tanks and play them quite often". BTW, Lately I see more E100s than Mouses. WTF?
There is one issue, I can leave game whenever I want, as a free player I lost only time. Can not imagine guys, who invested literally hundreds (maybe even thousands?) of $$$ or £££, to leave even they dislike game.

I play on plenty of premium time, (freemium)
I’ll never spend gold on that stuff. Having a high w/r helps make credits, but I do believe it can be done with ~50%
Started playing WOT many years ago after a brain surgery had me home bound and recovering for a few years. My doctors even said to play games to try and get dexterity in my fingers and recover some of eye movement and reaction times. I played 10,000's of games, but was never more than an average at best player, but it was the best i could do and it was helping recovery. I went through so many grinds, almost all as a F2P player and it was hell. I quit 3-4 years ago as a result of player abuse and just finding it non competitive as a non premium player against pay to win, seal clubbers and the hacks that were happening and Wg refusal to do anything. I recently popped back around Xmas just cause i had a lot of downtime and fund it to be completely foreign. Many of my tanks that were good or competitive had been nerfed and are average at best. Gold everywhere. So many premium tanks that required no grind and outclass most tanks you worked hard to get on many levels. # arties in just about every game and what is up with these 80mph clown cars that have damageable wheels and change every matches game play they are in, and not for the better. In fact that render a number of tanks almost unplayable now.And double barreled heavies? with more to come. WOT might as well just make every tank a 2+ shot autoloader and make it even for everybody. The game may still be great for many but it is hardly a game one would look forward to playing now without a good credit card or if they want a strategic game as most maps are played the same way since so many camp now. Deleted WOT off the computer today as it is addicting, but really not much fun or have an ability to advance playing as a F2P person.
Everytime i get prenium consumables i just sell them cause i need credits .... actually took me 2 years to get my first tier X no joke grinding the tiger ll was the worst part was also a bot at the time having a 750 wn8 global .

i played on my first account from 2012 till 2013...i had Tiger 1 Tiger P...Ferdinand and finally got the Tiger II...it was so horrible that i sold the account before i reached the top gun...in 2013 !! without this bullshit op tanks from today...cant imagine how it would be today

I find that French Tier V BDR G1 B is a really nice tank. Some people hate it but I find it suits my style. It tall but not lengthy or protruding. And a gun that packs a hell of a lot of punch for a tier V in Blitz. Its probably a decent tank in regular WOT too.
Im a free player, i just got to the kv-85 and it was really hard to get the 122mm gun on it, but now that I have it is my favorite tank that I have
I want to watch you play like a newbie. Roll a D15 (15 sided die) at the start of a match and whichever number it lands on, pick a tank that's closest to that number of the same type and follow it around the whole game as if you're learning to play. (Example: If you roll a 13 and you're a medium tank, you pick the medium tank closest to number 13 on your player list.)
If you end up playing next to a donkey who goes to stupid locations, then you've learned nothing but don't go there, just like a new player.

Losing credits even on your wins in higher tiers is why I prefer to play my SPG's and the tanks that can mount a derp gun. I load only HE rounds and snipe from a distance. I regularly get into the top five and sometimes I'm the high score on my team. On heavies I'm just chipping away at their HP, but some mediums, TD's and most lights I can one shot. That always feels good!
My argument with stock grind/fully upgraded tank is:
Typically a tank only has 1 way of setting out the tank - there's a top gun, top turret etc. etc. and it's the obvious choice - because that's what makes the tank the best.
The example I'll use is the M46 Patton:
- Top gun is 105mm : 390d / 218p & 2,711 dpm vs. top 90mm gun : 240d / 190p & 1,975 dpm
It's obvious to play the M46 with the 105mm over the 90mm -- it'd be interesting if it had a competitive 90mm gun packing pen/dpm comparable to the 105mm
A high(er) tier vehicle that comes to mind when thinking of this is the T44 --- it has a choice of 100mm or 122mm --- albeit 122mm has lower DPM & pen, but it is still competitive under the right circumstance/individuals playstyle.
Implementing something like this wide-spread would take balancing considerations, but would definitely make the mid-high tier gameplay more interesting - would refresh previously stale tanks and make the grind(s) more enjoyable imo.
I just think there should be more ways to earn the premium time. I wouldn’t mind doing a mission to earn the premium if I have to.

The Tank Rewards missions is a good way to get a weeks worth (at least the last 2 months they've offered it) Takes a bit of grinding, but you can do it fairly quick at tier 5 or 6

Tips from a mostly F2P player. Occasionally, spend a few bucks for some gold to use. Use it ONLY to train your crews and buy some camouflage. I also am in no hurry to play higher tiers where most of that pay to win crap goes on. Play a wide variety of tech trees, don’t rush up just one tree to high tiers. Play as many of your tanks as you can to get that first victory and take advantage of the first win bonus (usually 2x or 5x, sometimes 3x or 4x). Been playing about six years now, and my highest tiers are T6. Been given T8 rentals, but I refuse to play them except in training rooms for revenge when inevitably a high tier dickwad kills you in chill room to get his jollies. After a while you build up enough credits, so you can spend some for some premium rounds to use on the well armored opponents, but keep in mind not to over spend. You will also build up your free experience, so you can use some to upgrade a module or two to avoid playing the worst version of that tank. I might also use some free experience to close the gap & get that next higher tier vehicle a little sooner. Recently I have started using some free experience to upgrade crew skills by just 1 or 2% per session on some tanks. Establish a bottom limit on how many credits and how much free experience you maintain. At my current level, I don’t let my credits drop below 4 million, and my free experience not below 40,000. Works for me. I have fun, don’t spend too much, and don’t deal with “pay to win” players, except the occasional seal clubbed that comes down from high tiers. Good luck! Happy tanking! PS. I recently got a new computer and after setting everything up I was considering what game to download. At first, I was totally going to go for WoT. I had it on my older computer (which unfortunately just died out of the blue). I was an okish player at a 55% WR. But after watching all of QBs recent videos I realized how hard it would actually be to start all over again as a free to play. I eventually decided on WoWS and I am enjoying thoroughly even as a free to play. WoT is definitely one of the most interesting and exciting games I know. But as a F2P, it’s almost as if the game is against u.

One tip for free to play players:
Only use your free experience to research vital modules that massively increase the performance of the tank you're going for.
It takes an incredibly long time to build up the free xp necessary to research modules on stock tanks, especially tier 8 and above when each module costs 50k+ xp

I know it's hard but the addition of personal reserves makes it a bit doable. I dont even run premium account but I can accumulate 10-20k free exp. I know that the modules at high tier ranges from 30k-70k exp but still a chunk of that will be removed just by using free exp. Just make sure that the module you're trying to get is going to make an incredible performance difference for that tank you're trying to grind or it's just going to waste

Plus there are not as many tier V, VI and VII premium tanks in the game, combined, as tier VIII premium tanks, so if he did a tier list it would be 25 minutes shorter by default.

- Pz V/IV - it's like an E50M at tier 5 but they only sold it in black market
- KV 220-2 - it has KV-3 hull armor but they sell it on special events
- Churchill III - insane amount of XP you'll get and also has limited MM but slow tank
- Pz. T 25 - fast but beware of the slow turret traverse and mediocre gun handling and view range
- 105 leFH18B2 - OP arty with 400m view range and 12 seconds reload, they only sell it in special events
In tier 6:
- Type 64 - became borderline OP when top tier because WG didn't nerf this when the light tank changes were introduced, has 390m view range that other tier 6 light tanks can only dream of
- Cromwell B - basically a Cromwell but with better credit making
- KV 2 (R) - basically a KV 2 but with better credit making
- T-34-85 M - a T-34-85 but with better armor and credit making
- Strv m/42-57 Alt A.2 - has an auto loader that can be fatal (600 damage in total) as long as you connect all of your shots because gun handling is mediocre
- Object 244 - has IS armor at tier 6 but has the same gun as on T-34-85
In tier 7:
- SU-122-44 - has nearly 3000 dpm, mobile, bouncable armor against tier 7 and below but beware of the bad view range and "gun handling" (It's Russian gun handling) and low penetration for a TD at this tier (175 mm and 217 mm on it's apcr)
- E25 - OP camo, fast, over 2700 dpm, and has limited MM, the only bad thing on this tank is low penetration and you can get low on ammo sometimes because of its fast firing gun.
- IS-2 (not the Chinese one) and IS-2M - basically an IS but with better credit making
- AMX 13 57 (and the GF) - you need to be an experienced LT driver to make this tank work, ammo is limited, penetration is not the best but it's fast, good view range and has great camo.
- King Tiger (Captured) - Tiger II stock at tier 7 but you need to link your twitch prime to WoT
After about 20-30 games of the UDES 03 i had around 40% win rate, I just did not understand how to play the tank, I even free XP all the modules but I was still in the 40% w/r area. I was used to American TDs so fighting mid to close range was what I did. Most of the time with my UDES I was peaking over ridgelines and trying to use the special suspension rather than fight from afar or utilize the double bush mechanics. I didn't realize I could move so close to the enemies without being spotted and even shoot without being spotted sometimes. After learning how to use the UDES's suspension and its camo properly my stats improved a lot, now I'm above 60% w/r and around 90 battles.
FtP here of about 6 years I only use free xp on the first module or 2 if necessary. I prefer the big guned TDs at higher tears as thay got the higher penetration. If you target than you dont have to use the premium rounds, and the experience bosters help.
i am free account, never pay any cent, ping around 120ms, and when zoom in fps around 12fps. cry in the corner.

Been playing for 5 years and still free play model. All German TD up to tier IX. The best thing about free play is you have one huge advantage over paid account......skills.
I quit wot cause whenever i play almost everytime players in my group die quickly unlike the enemy....that they got almost and always best players even though i killed 4 or 5 let say 6 enemy players and to point my tank gets blown up the players in my team still loose like its shit cause you did everything you can do best to make your group win but eneded up being defeated by the your enemy
The UDES is great. Getting there can be painful.

If they have a teammate spotting me for them I’m almost helpless and just have to give up that position. You’ve inspired me. Maybe I’ll get back in that horrible IKV 103 and just grit my teeth and bear it while I miss everything I shoot at.
@@wubuck79 Max the IKV out as much as possible. Gun laying drive and camo net etc. Gold ammo and rations if you can. It will make it less painful.

@@dereksmalls6238 i don't understand the hate the M3 gets, i played if like a TD and did great (considering it was one of the first tanks i played). I think my WN8 in the thing was in the 1200 range where as in my Pz. 3J i only averaged around 300 and i played the tanks at the same time.
@@dereksmalls6238 First month playing it, was hell. But a year later during some event that encouraged playing it (think it was inc credits?), I did surprisingly well in it. Had to play it like a TD to really make use of the gun which at the time was actually pretty decent.
If you purchase premium consumables during discounts you would turn a profit using it (considering your level). If you are an average Joe, purchasing discounted premium fire extinguisher you would also turn a profit. I am talking about free to play account.
honestly the biggest problem with free to play is premium ammo, because most of the time f2p players cant afford enough more than maybe 2-3 premium rounds a match without losing money. like you said the biggest disadvantages with f2p is the crews having terrible view range and stock modules being a huge grind, so fast tanks usually suck because the stock meds and lights arent great with speed or view range, and at lower tiers the stock ammo struggles so badly to pen tanks. in the past when premium rounds were so commonly used heavy tanks with really thick armor were a f2p players best friend, but now with how often gold ammo is used and with power creep especially with pen values the armor is useless so youre just a slow xp pinata
I have never purchased anything from wargaming in the 8 years of playing this game. You have no idea how hard it really is. I refuse to use gold ammo at all.

I started playing in 2014 and was totally free to play for about 3 years. Then I bought a super Pershing and it changed my entire experience. One tier 8 prem tank can really help you out if you have a little bit of money to spend.
Removing modules and stock grinds would make this game a lot better for everyone. They really make no sense aside from the gun choices, which can sometimes really change a tank’s playstyle.
...no wonder I've been getting my ass kicked nearly every round. Jesus, this makes me not want to play ever again. I end up getting blown away by someone I can't even see across the map in one hit before I even leave the spawn area.

best way to play the game f2p is SPG in my opinion. i basically always make +credits playing them.
M44 makes me a ton of credits
@@bradwhitt6768 same ..... i have over 500 games in my M44 and made lots of credits with it ..... the downside is that with SPGs you dont have these intense moments in battle where it's "every next pen could kill you" and that sucks at times :/
I've played off and on for 7yrs mostly for free, but do enjoy the occasional premium account time, and using some gold for camo and bought1 premium tank. Nothing guarantees a win but I believe in supporting a game I play with a bit o cash.

I had finished every marathon I played up till the EBR challenge. In the middle of that one I realised: What the hell am I doing, playing this game that makes me rage 24/7. I went cold turkey and didn't play for half a year. Now I am at the point of sometimes playing a few games, like now with the holidays. I can tell you, I can still enjoy the game, just with moderation :)
I was quitting couple of times but on the holiday i return and again started to lose a lot of time.
This was the only way for me to quit for good.
