  • This is a quick start guide, to get you up and running with the SP630e all in one LED controller. This thing has so many features I’ll have to do more video later as I learn what all it can do.

    Hi Barnaby, i have the SP630E controller, loved your video and hoped it would cover my LED strip , but unfortunatley not. I have the "BTF-LIGHTING WS2812B IC RGB 5050SMD Pure Gold Individual Addressable LED Strip 16.4FT 300LED 60LED/m Flexible Full Color IP30 DC5V for DIY Chasing Color Project". It has five wires altogether. Three (red, green, white) are together in a 3 pin jst-sm connector, then 2 others, one red, one white. Not sure which connectors to connect to what on the controller. Would love to hear your advice. Thanks!

    Hi, have you tried connecting your controller to the Alexa app?

    Many strips are NOT 5V strips. Lots are 12V strips which means you can connect a car battery directly to the box and not “blow the strip”.

    is the CW a Control Wire? Does having something there switch on the "Data" strip

    • @lafloudaf2137
      @lafloudaf2137  10 місяців тому

      DAT is the control wire or data wire for addressable. CW is used for single color 12v led. See the end of the video

    My controller works fine until i connect a strip to it. The small LED on controller turns off when i connect the strip and i can not connect it with the app when LED on controller is off.

    i just got this and this prob a silly question but trying to wire these up has been a headace was thinking instead of a converter i saw some btf rgb light that are 12v and seeing this is 12 a max output it should work plug and play so to speak right or would i stil need a converter hope you can help

      We focus on 5v because our LEDs are sk6812 chip. There are many BTF and other brands using other chips in the WS line which are 12v. This controller will work on those too, and no need for power step down

      Short answer is- For HIS setup you NEED the converter when he is using 5v strips.
      Longer answer-> 12V is voltage. 12A is the max amperage this can handle. Don't confuse voltage and amperage. You can have a long enough strip of 5v LEDs to surpass 12 amps and burn up the controller. That would be above 60 watts of power. If you used 12v LEDs you would need less LEDs to max it out.
      SP630e is a Good controller if you want to try different strip and strings. It's compatible with many different strip and string types and can accept voltages from 5v to 24v.
      But there are many simpler controllers that may suit your needs if you're only using one strip type.

    How can you sync a bunch of these to work at the same time same effects?

    • @lafloudaf2137
      @lafloudaf2137  Рік тому

      You can set all the programs to be the same, but they will not start and stop the same place. Best way is to wire all the strips in parallel to one controller and bypass the power direct to the strip and not through the controller

    • @lafloudaf2137
      @lafloudaf2137  Рік тому +1

      To bypass power you need to send voltage to the controller so that it will turn on, but not out of the controller. Only data out of the controller. Power and ground will then come straight to the strips from your battery or power source
