When people make claims on who should be in the hall of fame I do a baseball reference comparison. Whitaker compares with Alan Trammell and Ryne Sandberg, hmmmmm. Let him in!
@@mike203203 that's kinda how I felt but I actually looked at his numbers closer and changed my mind. Go to BB reference and compare his overall stats to other HOF 2nd basemen and short stops, especially pre roid era, and I'll bet you'll at least be surprised if not convinced.
Lou Whitaker deserve to be in the HOF .

@@EugBaseball What about the great Curt Schilling?
I think Phil Neikro was 59 years old at this point
LOL
He hit one out of the stadium in 1983.
Seems he wasn't fooling anyone with his "knuckle ball" at that point
Trivia time! Besides Niekro, who was the other hall of famer on that awful 87 Indians squad?
Good question. I'm not sure if they're in the Hall, but my guess is either Joe Carter or Junior Noboa
Steve Carlton! In the 70'a they'd be playoff bound!@@vicepresidentmikepence889
Steve Carlton!
@@vicepresidentmikepence889 It was the great Steve Carlton.
Fun trivia, who had a higher WAR? Phil Niekro or Steve Carlton?
@@dave09gla Corrrrect!
Did anyone ever sit in the third deck?
Should be two hall of farmers facing each other
I liked Whitaker as a player. Hall of very good tho

Is the ball hopped up or not LOL that was a strange comment but was a sign of the times back then
Yeah but back then they were smart enough to ditch it after one year
A HR off a 48 year old. Meow 😸
He hung it up, what else was he supposed to do with it?
